This "thing" is just a camera with phonecall ability. Nothing more. User interface is still crap. Nothing we haven't seen. I'd rather get a DSLR camera or better yet HTC oneX with a dedicated chip for just the camera :), with mind blowing user interface. Now that's innovation. Innit?

Many people are still envious of this phone like the one below this post. They bash and smash this phone because at the back of their minds, their phones are nothing compared to this and the result, more bashing and ugly comments about this phone.
Dont get envy. Get even by buying this phone. And if you don't buy this phone, surely more bashing will come out from you.
BTW, its already the 4th day of May and still no news of this phone's availability.

They do not have same amount of apps, so much features, so many devices having them and personalisation(only for android). And people are addicted to them. Apple fanboys have their personal music library apps and a taste of apple. Android buys are so much addicted to personalisation that blackberry and windows looks like "something is misiing" and "SO borring. AAAHHH. I want an phone not a toy"
Only possibility is that any of these would completely renew their os. all functions,features, design, as well as some facilities for developers so that High-end games and apps can be developed very easily. An iOS and Android app of a restorant can be developed by even dreamweaver by an HTML developer.

Those things where you say Nokia is concentrating like build quality, durability and camera have always been what people love most than everything else abt Nokia and it's a good thing they keep satisfying their traditional and loyal custommers.
Abd btw, Nokia 808 has great overall multimedia experience with Dolby sound and Dolby headphone support.

This phone is for camera geeks and lovers only ... any gamers or app lovers go get any quad dual cores android phone :D the pureview is for people who respect innovation and photography :))) getting the white one sooon :)

success depends only on marketing. im sure nokia 808 is going to be the one of the biggest flop. 808 will not release worldwide ( not in US - the biggest market for smart phones). Sales of windows phone is better than symbian and the only reason behind it is marketing. lets compare these two oses,
1. multitasking - symbian is way better in miltitasking (even much better than android and ios) unlike useless only 5 task multitasking on windows phone.
2.multimedia- symbian supports best camera app with 1080 p video recording ( in pureview 808) and large variety of audio video support unlike windows phone zune player ( need to syncronise and convert video and audio from pc to zune).
3. connectivity - with symbian you can get bluetooth 3.0 with no restrictoins allows file sharing , data sharing , headset and etc, wifi with wifi hotspot, USB on the go , HDMI output, TV -out, NFC - highly intregeted in symbian suppots nfc multiplayer gaming , FM- transmitter on the other hand windows phone 7 has bluetooth 2.1 with no data and file sharing. nfc with limited functionality, no USB on the go , no FM transmitter, no HDMI, no TV - out, wifi with hotspot.
4.customisation - symbian supports multiple homescreens, widgets , themes , wallpaper, different lockscreen, different homescreen launchers as well as custom rom is also avialable for symbian ( symbian us now a open source os ). with wp7 you can rearrange the live tiles and change wallpapers.
5. internet- symbian stock browser has html5 support and flash lite 4 compared to only html5 and no flash suppot on windows phone's internet explorer. browser on windows phone 7 is certainly faster and smoother but symbian stock browser is more funtional and you can download third party web browsers like opera and netflix which can be as smooth as
windows phone internet explorer.
8. apps - both has almost same number of apps but numbers for windows phone is increasing very fast ( due to high support and marketing) compared to symbian ( nokia already has no plan for symbian in future which makes developers out of interest).
9. conclusion- windows phone sales has increasing even after loosing almost every battle agains symbian.

so that's means that the 5mp pureview quality isn't as the 12mp of the n8
its just 50x40 print not a big banner :)
