Nokia 808 uses a dedicated 512mb GPU...which takes the load of high resolution games and the whooping 41MP.
Im using Nokia N8 the predecessor of Nokia 808. I'll definitely buy this phone over iPhone 4s or Nokia Lumia 900 or HTC One X.
The Nokia 808 PureView also features exclusive Dolby Headphone technology and Dolby Digital Plus!!!
Anonymous, 13 Mar 2012GSMARENA please add the DivX/XviD support!! And the GPU... THANKSAnd OS is "Nokia Belle FP1"
OMG...this is the first fully camera based phone only from nokia..
That's the perfect satisfactionly need..
Anonymous, 13 Mar 2012why all these fandroids complain about this.
For what on earth one need quadcore phones?to pl... moreWell what do you need a 41MP camera for? In that case, buy a damn digital camera.
It's a horrifically ugly phone that's a desperate attempt to find a niche in the market. This will fail, just like all Nokia products do now.
raiden, 13 Mar 2012noblescarlet has been appointed by NOKIA to keep bashers/trollers away anyhow nokia cnt see 80... moreI loled at that comment. Nope, just keeping trolls away. Besides, it's been quite a while since I debated online. Seemed like a good place to do so. I use both Symbian and Android, by the way. Love them both, but I love Symbian more. :)
Though secretly hoping to get Nokia's attention to contract me for marketing.. in exchange for a Nokia 808.
Just kidding. But it would be cool if that would happen.. ;)
Oh.. New browser.. Cool.
Does this new browser improved the pinch zooming performance in a web page?
why all these fandroids complain about this.
For what on earth one need quadcore phones?to play games? Then buy a psp,ps vita or ps3 at a quarter of its price.how many minutes battery of a quadcore device is gonna last while gaming? 15min or 20min maximum.
So get the heck out of here.nobody invited fandroids here, nobody pursuaded you to buy this phone..
noblescarlet has been appointed by NOKIA to keep bashers/trollers away anyhow nokia cnt see 808 getting killed by android and ios5
AnonD-44031, 13 Mar 2012Nice overview of the OSes there. Though I have to disagree with you on the codecs. The newer S... moreYup S^3 has a pretty good codecs. Tried to watch an episode of Spartacus using my Xbox but it cant read the .avi file format, so i ended up plugging my n8 to the TV via HDMI and watched it there.
it can also support .srt/subs and .mkv but i havent tried the mkv.
Anonymous, 12 Mar 2012Never use android ha? Who said you need to route to hack it? You can just search the apk file ... moreI am not talking about "apps". Im talking about hacking the device to have privilege rights to access system files. System files to alter OS related stuff. Both Android and Symbian can be 'hacked'. But for some Android, you need to hack it to get access to its FM Radio which is a wtf moment tbh... Is that a clearer example?
I can easily state that this beats the majority of digital still cameras and many DSLR's. Unbelievable camera and you can also use it a a smartphone. Great idea made into reality. Well done all involved.
I don't care about the operating system, all the apps I use are available on this phone.
I tried it in Barcelona... but where/when can I buy it?
Anonymous, 12 Mar 2012i don't know why Nokia doesn't improve upon its display quality. only 180 dpi, that's crap.... its not crap
and if you want a higher dpi get the Nokia E6 it has a higher dpi than the iphone4s
iris, 13 Mar 2012all too god on the paper but is it worth it?if u want such a good camera and if u r too partic... moreYes, you could get an entry-level DSLR. But you said it yourself that a phone is a phone. This was not supposed to compete against DSLRs. Even Nokia did not say anything about competing against DSLRs. They have a different reason why they used a 41MP sensor here.
Also, I think only high-end compact cameras can match the quality of the photos that this phone takes. Honestly, I don't like carrying too many gadgets at a time. If this is an excellent phone, multimedia device, camera and video recorder, then this is what I am going to need most of the time.
You can't honestly think that you will be bringing a DSLR with you every time. Bring it only when you really need it. For those that don't need a DSLR to capture, the camera on this phone will definitely suit your need.
And one more thing, taking photos is not the only thing it does. This is a multimedia device. It can do more than what a DSLR can do. Bring something like this with you every time. And when you are going to an occasion or event that really needs a dedicated device, then bring it. This phone will definitely replace your compact P&S camera. Take a look at the full-res samples. They look beautiful even at a low quality setting. If you won't need 38/34MP photos, resample them to a lower resolution. You will find the image quality to be very beautiful.
nayeem, 12 Mar 2012hello guys,I see everybody is fighting over a same issue. But the question still remains is tha... moreNice overview of the OSes there. Though I have to disagree with you on the codecs. The newer Symbian OSes have excellent codecs comparable, or even better than the ones on Android. As for iOS, yes you could get rid of some restrictions, but the not most. It still won't support side-loading and the bluetooth is still too restrictive even after a jailbreak.
AnonD-30475, 12 Mar 2012i like symbian pls keep going im symbian and half android fan symbian DONT BROKE !they want really kill symbian, just do alot of upgrading, why do you think they have changed the name to nokia belle???
Al Hassan, 12 Mar 2012Hey,, I love having excellent camera in my phones.. The Nokia 808 really attracts me.. But I'm... morewhat is the point of putting in a 2 meggapixel camera in the front facing camera,
think about it, its a tiny sensor, wich two meggapixels would no change the quility, only if you made the sensor bigger,
think of the lodgic people, its not rocket science...
