Al Hassan, 12 Mar 2012Hey,, I love having excellent camera in my phones.. The Nokia 808 really attracts me.. But I'm... morewhat is the point of putting in a 2 meggapixel camera in the front facing camera,
think about it, its a tiny sensor, wich two meggapixels would no change the quility, only if you made the sensor bigger,
think of the lodgic people, its not rocket science...
Hi friends ths is the one and only big efforts in nokia and for this model became a king of the ring in market but you compare to any other brands like mobile are tablets and camera this is the only one model is beat the market.the nokia dream is every customer is precious to them and allways nokia connecting people with the consumers and this is the 5years dream....so know it's going to lunch the nokia 808pure view.it's a great challenge to other brands......
all too god on the paper but is it worth it?if u want such a good camera and if u r too particular in taking good photos and concerned with the resolution, go buy a good digital camera instead. For the price of this phone , i think we could get an entry level DSLR. A camera is a camera and a mobile phone is a mobile phone. However hard u try you can't match the power and performance of a device that is dedicated fo the purticular purpose. Oh.. for bragging rights, its ok....
the iCraps and Fandroids are desperate on down voting this amazing phone. they must be jealous that their 4+1 SoCs does not have this feature LOL
maybe its not Nokia faults. but needs thinner designed with higher screen resolution next time
anon, 12 Mar 2012Very true. Apps are generally battery-sucking crap. Game on GAMING devices, like PSP, because ... morei only got 2 pockets and one has my keys in it...The other my phone. Who carries a psp for gaming , a ipod for music, a phone for calls , and a tablet for internet, and a camera for pics, and a camcorder for video. There are alot of phones that do all of this.. If you think nokia is the only one with a phone that has great a video cam your crazy. 41mp is good but its a phone first......just remember its a phone first.
can any one tell me does this phone hav the same call log in which u cant delete a single number frm tht if any one know this plzz tell me i realli need to know this
people waste their time criticizing...let me tel you smth
If you like beautiful pics and videos, buy a Nokia N95.
If you like playing games that are PS2-like,buy an N95.
If you hate these touchscreen trends(android, wp7,belle) buy an N95.
You'll be satisfied in every point.
anonymouse, 12 Mar 2012bang on!!! your decency in answering the question is not found on GSMArena to say the least. ... moreVery true. Apps are generally battery-sucking crap. Game on GAMING devices, like PSP, because phones will never match that quality. Else, I like phones that ALWAYS work and have enough battery life to support all their base features, let alone extras and nothing but Nokia can do all that today. Nokia running SYMBIAN.
i don't know why Nokia doesn't improve upon its display quality. only 180 dpi, that's crap.
Oh No Again symbian...! shame on nokia...!!! thimk some good , be open source.!
Zymesh, 12 Mar 2012thats one reason why many users dont like Android. You need to ROOT it to make it work. In... moreNever use android ha? Who said you need to route to hack it? You can just search the apk file for application in share website like 4shared or rapidshare then install it to ur phone without rooting or paying. As for custom menu you can find so many free application for this in market. Get a life!!!
hello guys,I see everybody is fighting over a same issue. But the question still remains is that which OS is better and which handset will be the best amongst all.The answer is concealed behind mystery.I currently use nokia N9 nokia E7 samsung Galaxy galaxy SII and the Iphone 4S.I actually develop apps for handsets.
According to my opinion no handset is perfect. You cannot make choices between which OS to use. What I will do is give u guys a maximum possible overview of each OS.
First up Android 4.0:For heavy gamers and people who would like to try new apps every other day. These phones are highly based on performance.Top processors, graphics and extensive modifications are their best quality. On the Cons list we got less Battery life as u really have fast processors nd a really heavy android OS,Open source market filled with bugs.
next up is Symbian:One of the oldest OS probably the the oldest.Best qualities are superior battery life, highly secured, solid materials and a lite OS.Cons include less apps, less video codecs although u cud use third party players for that, not so fast processors and ram that is because u dont need that fast processors to run a symbian OS.
MeeGO:A new OS whcih I wonder could be the best OS one day but unfortunately dropped by nokia so their future is an epic failure if not adapted by a big phone company.A beautiful OS designed for simplicity, got fast processors and include 1 Gb ram which I feel is enough.Cons include scarcity of apps poor battery performance perhaps because the OS consumes a lot of power, restrictions to a lot of features which cud be hardly recognised as a smartphone.
IOS:Its an overestimated OS which I think is worse of all because of the restrictions which comes along with the box but a bit of googling u cud get rid of it.best features are good solid Lag free OS with superior performance.Cons are poor battery life nd a lot of restictions like the bluetooth and others.
raiden, 12 Mar 2012can u root ur symbian nokia device like android phones, and make it perform the way u want, an... moreyou obviuosly never use nokia symbian smartphone and thought you posted good comment.
they dont call it 'root' in symbian. it's called hack, like somebody else already mention.
I love this phone (Nokia 808)
im also waiting (Nokia Tablet) running Windows 8..coming soon
[deleted post]this is not a galaxy set dude. u did a mistake. say sorry for that
raiden, 12 Mar 2012can u root ur symbian nokia device like android phones, and make it perform the way u want, an... moreThen what is this supposed to be if not a multimedia/gaming device? Though I won't recommend this for heavy gaming. This is first and foremost a mobile phone. Be gentle with it even if it is durable. Get a handheld console if you want heavy gaming.
What is your definition of multimedia anyway? I define multimedia as working with photos, videos, audio and creativity applications. This includes capturing, recording, playback/viewing and even interacting with certain applications that require creativity to use.
"basically fr children"? You have no idea. No mobile phone can simply comply with the "creative demands" of children.
