My dad got this phone when it was first released on a contract. he dropped it a good few times and we now keep it as a spare phone. my mum dropped it in the washing machine and after a full wash, i let it dry out for a day and it works perfect!! i am using it at the moment as my very unreliable motorola v3 just blanked out on me! the Nokia 8310 is wicked!
Wow... I see everyone loves this phone... well it's obviuos, because it's a pretty good phone, I used mine for 6 years and has no problems .... I really liked it, best phone I've ever had.. :D so if someone wants to buy this phone, than just go for it! :D
this is not '1 of the best phones'
..its the best phone ever been built
iv had mine for 8 years, its never let me down. its fell from stairs, out of pockets while running etc..and this phone never broke on me.
iv still got the original orange cover, white with white lights, its got few scratches on the cover, which cud be replaced with a new cover. i tend to take care of my phone, i guess its part of me now.

Only 3 words to describe this phone.
An Awesome Phone.
Well seriously the best black & white display phone ever made till today(4/23/2007).
Radio, GPRS etc.... Whatelse do you want in this tiny little phone. But Nokia Engineers, I am sure you people would be working on something called Nokia 8310i, that would have features like an mp3 player, probably a 2 or 3 megapixel camera, etc. Come on, work on it & Nokia would once again make it's billions with just this model alone. Just 1 request, please make sure that the size & weight is exactly the same as the original 8310, do not worry about the research cost factor etc. These days people have enough money & don't mind blowing it up on something that is really good & worth it. 3 CHEERS to you all. All the Best..
Without a doubt the coolest and best phone I ever had. I loved the lights(i had the blue one). Loved the radio, Best of all was the size. Dam thieves mugged me and took it so I had to use a Nokia 6310i since then what a brick!!. Yeah where is the next 8310 coming out, nah stuff that I will just get a refurbed one.
Without doubt, the coolest phone ever. About time it got a successor,
great little phone. with great features. it had a great look wen it lights up, nice white backlight, not those ugly greeny ones, i loved the smallness of it, the radio was a great little timepasser for me, nice phone!
Anyone know if there's plans to release an up to date version of this? I just loved mine so much, every upgrade I've had since cannot compare and I would love to get it with a few more of the modern features like camera, colour screen, longer texting etc.
I've changed a dozen of Nokia Mobiles but i think this one is the best of all! its the ultimate mobile.
I would kill to get a modernize version of the 8310 if Nokia makes one!Why dont they revive this one, instead of the 3110 classic!
Had mine since 2003. 500 name phone book, FM radio, rock solid reliable, slips in bottom of any pocket, screen works in bright sunlight, simple texting, profiles, standard Nokia charger. Good old fashioned Nokia UI. I want a newer phone that interfaces with PC but this little gem is just so damn reliable I can't give it up. Have to go to 8310 rehab I guess!!!
What can i say.... Awesome phone, i am still in love with it.. i bought another 8310 today because it is the legend of a phone!!
The 8310 is a rugged, solid and versatile phone. Nokia should modernize and relaunch this phone, keeping its size the same. Modernization should be by way of color screen, 4-way scrolling (up, down, left and right), bluetooth, MP3, choices of wallpaper, timesaver and many more, as Nokia engineers may decide.
Iy`s a very good telephone but you can only send an sms that contains 160 charactes.:(.knows anywhone how to solve that problem.
