I own a V3. A good phone BUT the synchronising software Mobile Phone Tools to synchronise Outlook Contacts and Calendar is not only primitive but also defective. You may check the forum at www.bvrp.com to have an idea. I am thinking of dumping V3 for 8800. Anyone have problems synchronising Nokia phones with Outlook?
Sorry, quick update new pricing just released. Prices will be £499 trade, likely to be £600 retail SIM Free.
This phone will be available through official UK distribution channels on Friday the 24th of June. The SIM Free retail price will be between £420-£500+VAT depending on where you go for a UK licensed and warrantied product. We'll have in in stock on Friday. I doubt Ebay sellers either have the real item yet (they are speculating on launch models) or they are doggy grey imports.
what a nice phone bought it as a replacement for my 8910 because the sliding mechanism was broken.
It has everything i need.
cons: ringing volume is too soft
sliding mechanism (i wonder how long it will work)
camera quality is bad
no memory card slot
will post later for the quality!
Built with the same quality and materials as surgical instruments and watches....how can you resist? A design delight and innovation. Yes, we know, there are many phones out there with more or better features, but, NONE of them look or feel as good as this. When I bought the 8890 about 3 years ago, I knew it could be som much more...then when I saw the 8910, you saw once again that Nokia was aiming to please it's clientele who appreciate an incredibly well designed gem....and here it is...the 8800. Thanks Nokia...my search is over.
I like this phone as "it is" but my complains are :
1. ring volume is too soft
2. the D-Pad is up to press for Up and Down, always pressing 2 instead of Down.
3. bottom last 3 buttons also hard to press
Reading the specs and a few reviews, it seems that this one is a 'function-follows-form' mobile phone. Perhaps Nokia can improve this with the 'i' version.
i do like 8800 but wat a pity the camera is not even megapixel..is it true that they will launch the 8800i?got more extra memory and hi' resolution for the camera?
anyone knows about this?
The phone is small but very heavy, even heavier than 7610. The package comes with 2 batts, 1 desktop charger and the others are the standard package. i like the handfree very much...Very stylish!!!
i heard bout the 8800i version too..im not too sure whether its true or not..but it might release it probably next year..
Does anyone know were i can get the lowest price on this phone. Am certainly not paying someone on ebay £600+ alot of them cant even show pictures of the box which makes me think they are cons.
Where is the Pop Port which is now supposed to be on all phones.. another great marketing ploy from Nokia....car kit heaven
I've got this phone three day agos, Well Its so hard to connecct the phone with PC suit if you have the Internal bluetooth equiped with your laptop. Else, is fine and a very good looking phone. I'm looking for a theme website for this phone.. does any of you knows?/ Please kindly share.. Thankyou
I agree with Tabrez. How can you comapre stainless steel to silver, gold or platinum?
i like this phone (n8800) so much. i want to buy it now but still so expensive. this phone is perfect. my friend has it. it's great.
I dont know about you guys... but dont ya think that there is going to be a 8800i version comming? I don't wanna put wrong ideas into other peoples minds..(this is purely my personal opinion). 8800i version would be perfect with 1.3~2.0 mp camera, memory card slot, etc etc...coz the design is superb.
haha...how could you even consider VERTU as a phone? it is a useless (not to mention unbelievably expensive) chunk of jewelery brick, with ugly design. On the other hand 8800 looks like a phone, with minimal features. neither of them are anything but great phones..(but i do like the design of 8800)
