I dont get why people keep slagging this phone off so much!!! Its a good phone and thats it!!

If you can afford a £500 phone then you can for sure afford a good Digital SLR so the camera does not matter.

You can afford an iPod so have 50mb of memory does not matter!!

The phone has style and is a great phone!!!!

To king and coffee:

I doubt that you have ever owned Nokia 8800 because you should have already known that this phone has low voice clarity, poor battery life, functionality, performance and a lot more other software problems.
This is the most unreliable and worst phone i have used and this is a fact, but it’s very hard for some people to admit that this “phone” is useless, unreliable and has nothing to show except high price.Maybe the truth hurts and some people don't want to see it because in their imagination is something “priceless” without a reason to be so or don’t want to admit that actually with this phone they feel better by posing and showing off .

I have used a wide range of phones and was an owner of all exclusive and high end/expensive mobile phones from Nokia product line(8850,8910,8910i,8800),and YES i have much more knowledge on mobile phones than you have or dream to have. You wish to own and use them like i do.
You belong to the 1/4 group of people posting here that are satisfied.
It's your right not to believe mine and generally all the negative comments on this phone but how can you explain the majority of these indignant, unsatisfied, disappointed people reviews?
Don't give as an answer that excuse again that people can't afford it and is jealous.
Jealous of what? This phone is not capable even for the main purpose of its creation which is to make calls. From time to time is switching off by itself,so you have to be anxious when you have a phone call conversation or when you try to make a call.
I used both versions 3.60 and 3.78 and none of them work properly, although 3.60 had the most problems. With 3.78 version some problems are fixed and others remain.
Maybe you are in the minority of happy and satisfied Nokia 8800 people but this is Nokia 8800 - user opinions and reviews board and not a board for people that actually want or like this phone. Surely i don’t want any suggestions by immature persons like you and i don't want your permission to post my negative reviews on this "phone" and if don’t accept an honest different opinion than yours that's your problem not mine. I only speak with facts and through my experiences.
I try to help and inform people for Nokia 8800 major problems as an ex-owner and user of this phone and not do the same mistake of buying this phone like i did. Nothing more ,nothing less. If you don't understand this simple thing what can i do.Your behavior will be judged by others.
I was and am very clear in my previous posts and statements on this phone. If you want go and see my previous posts and simply READ them.
I believe that you can't realise and understand how to read properly and carefully.
That's your Problem not mine.
You are a parasite and infest people with your cheap excuses. The truth hurts and some people don't want to see it.If you like to waste your money or want to show off that's your problem.
No more excuses for this phone.
This “phone” is an expensive bibelot and nothing more.
If you want to give more than £450 for a faulty, unreliable phone that's fine,it's your decision and right to do this but don't criticize and mislead people with your cheap excuses. See only the voting results going day by day down and get your own conclusion. In market there are better alternatives.Simple as that.
So give us a rest and don't busy yourself and dabble with me

Yeap, thats exactly what he supposes to do. I was thinking that he probably never had the phone. He just "pretends" to have all these problem with his imagination 8800. He did that because he can't afford one so he's thinking that it's better for him if everybody dont have one as well.

Koureas G ,

If you are so pissed off with this phone because you did pay a high price to own this beautiful looking phone to find that it is not up to your expectations; it doesn't matter what your opinion is, because after a year og production, a lot of people all over the world is still eagerly buying this phone!

We can understand your dis-satisfaction, but you should be complaining to Nokia & ask them for a refund AND post your complain on the daily newspaper.

It’s easy to say the same excuse again and again and criticize other people because you don’t have something else to say to defend this “phone”,but it’s very hard to admit that this “phone” is useless, unreliable, not worthy phone and has nothing to show except high price.Maybe the truth hurts and some people don't want to see it.

I know from first hand the inadequate "capabilities" of this "phone" and i speak with facts and through my experiences.
As i stated in my previous posts the capacity of 8800 is Li-Ion battery forms only 600 mAh, which is too short.
In average it worked for a day in case of an hour of talks, and i encountered fast battery discharge during the talk and phone turned off. With 30 minutes of talks the device lived till the next morning and turned off at the first call (two charge points). You should not trust the battery indicator. The device may be used not more than for a day, two days are possible only with little short conversations, NO use of other functions.
If you want somehow better battery life it's better to turn off the screen saver and use no bluetooth.

Except from the design of this "phone" which is a subjective point of view if you like it or not, there is no other reason to defend this "phone". Surely this "phone" has low battery life, functionality, performance and many software problems.
So i don't understand the fanatics owners or fans of this "phone" trying to mention, imply or say something against other people posting here who are indignant, disappointed owners of this "phone" or don't actually like it.Surely we have heard thousand of times that cheap excuses and we are tired to hear them once again because some others they don't have something to say or don't know what they are saying.
I wouldn't recommend to anyone buying this "phone" just for the looks.Waste of money and time.

Yes Coffee, this guy 'Mania' also use other names to put this phone down; if you notice those codes behind the posted date!!!

As I have guessed, this guy is one of those jealous salesman who can't afford to buy one! Also, as he mentioned, he got big fingers so the keys on this phone is difficult for him, & he his pissed off at watching other people pressing the keys so fast & easily.....but he can't do the same.

Also, as a sales, he must face the phone all the time but can't own one.....how sad!!! This is going to drive him nuts,I strongly recommand this guy making an appointment with a medical doctor ASAP before it's too late for any cure!

Hi all! I've just traded my N80 for a 8800 about 2 weeks ago. I thought I'd be disappointed but nope! Dispite what people may say, this is a good phone. It lasts me about 2 days, which is already more than the N80. But anyhow, what I wanted to ask was that do you guys know if I can receive fax on this thing or not? Nowhere has mentioned the fax part so I don't know if it is possible or not. Can anyone help me?

A Aint John nor Harry or even danielle I'm Mania as mentioned in the name so please get your facts right before writing who you think people might be.

I still stick with the decision that the Nokia 8800 is the handset which is out there to rip people off.

A Handset thats been out for over a year and the cost of it is the same is a ripoff handset.

Nothing to get jealous about when there's handsets like the LG Chocolate phone which is 100 times better than the Nokia 8800 and the 8910i which is also alot better than 8800

The reasons why I dislike the 8800 are as follows.

1 Battery Life, battery tends to die very quickly on the phone which means if your on a call for about one hour the battery dies which is a pity.

2 The price of the handset is too much especially if it's been out for ages 1.6 years

3 The camera is crap on the phone, what was the point in putting a crap handset

4 Menu system, It's basic it doesn't offer anything new on the h/set

5 The flips on the 8800 dend to break easily, We get complaints all the time where I work with that handset.

6 The black version of the Nokia the ink comes off, It's just painted black

7 When making a call on the 8800 the calls sometimes cut off

8 Inside the Titanium case there's a phone what looks like a cheap seamans.

Where's only one good thing I can say about the h/set is the design.

So summerise all this up and you realise your getting ripped off.

So all you Nokia 8800 owners out there who are happy be happy.

Me personally I think it looks like a ladies phone and the buttons are way too small.

So theres no point in me getting jealous when I have big fingers and can,t text off it and there's loads of disadvantages about the 8800.

I've still got the 8910i which many 8910i owners would agree it's a much better phone and looks better too in everyway.
