Sad that this phone does not perform as what I expected. Bad choice to own it.
The way i see things is like this, anything that provokes such varied opinions must be something worth while having, i would rather people spoke about me than ignored me, at least im getting noticed. And secondly why waste so much time talking about this phone, i dont remember anyone saving we are all FORCED to own one, this is a land of freedom of choice, blar blar blar.If any of you even had an idea of wealth and cost you would be talking about the VERTU, there you go i bet no of you even knew such a phone even exsisted, See some of us are born looking up to the sky, and alas some to the GROUND, wake up dudes and stop crying over the 8800 when just looking at the ELEGENCE and eliteness of the VERTU will not just make you weep it will positively make your eyes BLEED.So words of wisdom.Put on your shades tap into the VERTU.com AND feast, yes i said FEAST your eyes on the SILENT BUT VIOLENT BEAUTY.Then come back and bleat about the 4,000,Price tag attached to this MASTERPIECE..........good day to you all....And in the words of KURT COBAIN, its BETTER TO BURN OUT THAN FADE AWAY...what you got to say about that then.........HMM, i thought so.....
I know it's diffuclt to believe but the story is true - the Noika 8800 screen did not shatter. It is my understaning that there is a special treatment/coating that goes into the glass that increases its clarity and resists scratches. I'm sure this explains the screen's amazing resiliency. My daughter had a "Bratz" doll and a tuna sandwich in a tupperware container in her backpack. They were both pulverized.
Or the nanny did not see it. Next time you forget something I hope you get the same treatment (if your story is true).
One damaged 8800...
Ny daughter left her 8800 in her backpack. When she returned from camp she must have thrown it on the driveway and her nanny neglected to pick it up.
My wife heard a crunch when she rolled over it. The 8800 phone was very compressed (her Cayenne weighs over 6,000 pounds) and yes, the glass screen did break but did not shatter. Thank God it wasn't our dog or Zoe!
My little one was very upset - and because it wasn't her fault, I promised to replace it as soon as possible.
We've always taught our chidlren to never cry over anything that can be replaced with money (The tragedy in New Orleans underscores that)
Anyway, I think I will have set the record for the number of 8800's owned - 4!
Also,I fired the nanny...
There is a quality control problem with Nokia phones which says "Made By Nokia".
8800 is a good example!
Finally sold my 4th 8800 & I lost US$150. So what?...at least it's a relief from all the hassle the stupid 8800s from Nokia had given me for the last 3 months!!!
Now I am back to my old but reliable RAZA V3...which is not bad at all, after all...at least not all those inconvinences all the 8800s had given me!!!
this is phone is mede of steel that is why it's prone to scratches. Just think of how depressed youll get when you accidentally drop this phone and it gets scratches thinking the price of the phone. OUCH!
I have an s700i and it has a beautiful silver contour at the back i'm so afraid of getting it scratched.
If beauty is the forte of this phone, beauty is also its downfall when it gets scratched. SO be Very careful on handling metallic phones.=]
I like the phone! I hate the price!
The reception of the 8800 is kind of weak, definately weaker than the Motorola V3 or SE 750/800.
The signal strength bars are not trustworthy either because they are not accurate(not even close to accurate!)
After experiencing with owning a total of 4 (four) 8800, I am giving up on this phone. I am selling my fourth one (3 days old only) tomorrow ... so you guys can imagine how disappointed I am with the 8800.
My conclusion :- To be polite, 8800 is not a good phone except the look! To be rude, 8800 sucks!...excuse my language, I am really pissed!
hello my comment is this nokia is very good phone many people need it but the price is to cost pls i want the company to reduce the price. thanks.
i think you mixed up with 6230i..since 6230i has 1,3 megapixel camera and has similar feature to 8800
the camera is not a megapixel camera, its SVGA camera (800X600) or 0.5 megapixel. If you are looking for megapixel camera you are looking at the wrong phone. 6230i, N90, W800i, K750i, Z800, N91, 7610, S700, 6630, 6680, N70, D500, D600 are megapixel camera.. also some others that i don't mention here.
i red all your opinions and must say that now i cant go with it that i will buy nokia 8800..
i wanna ask is it true that camer is NOT mega pixel??
i read some where that is 1,3 mega pixel..is it true??
hi,,, if u dont believe, buy a new battery never used be4, charge as i said, 1st 3 times charge more than 10 hours, i charged 12 hours Approx. it better to switch off during 1st charge. if u still feel horrible as ur previously battery, i will pay u the money 4 the battery.

Please make sense!!!!!!
I doubt if anyone is stupid enough to believe that any 8800 with the standard battery can last for 4 - 7 days!!!!!!!
I like the look & feel of the phone ... which is why I am on my fourth one although everyone of them hang ! I also prefer slide phone. The battery standby is terrible !
hi,,,8800 no no...i think u never used 8800 be4..honestly, i got this fone more than 7 weeks, from vodafone online, be4 Aug the handset is free on £75 tariff. my fone is great. even the standby time, people complain 2 short. they definitely charged not enough at the 1st 3times. i charged more than 10 hours at 1st 3 days. now perfect can at stay 4-7days using only 1 battery. maybe u r not lucky, got a trouble fone from store. if u still doubt, u can give me ur email address, i will post u my mobile photos..
