this phone is not for people who need lot of features it depends on the person.
this phone is for people who dont use any features or dont even know how to oprate phones and people like them are proud to have that phone
this one is soo beautiful.. wow I found a gold one too
I bought this phone last year before Christmas and my battery life is minimum 5 days with talking and on stand by is 8 days :) And i have some words for those who don`t like this phone. Wake up guys !!! Phones are made to talk and send SMS`s . If you want something else go and buy a COMPUTER . Negative peoples are writing here for 2 reasons :
They don`t have money and they want this phone
They want games , camera .....(Go and buy a sony camera and a computer and download a program to make phone calls ..)
Phones are made for design , to call your friends and send SMS`s to girls :)))
What do you mean crap, it's garbage! This 8800 is probably the worst Nokia phone I ever owned. Nokia should recall this model as a token to all the people that purchased this phone. I a big Nokia fan if you can beleive that?
this phone only looks great. a nice show off phone but if you look for better camera phones and so on i wouldnt buy this. had too many probs with it so i just sold it.
Just a reply to Koureas G. Koureas G i can see what your saying, and yer fair enough, but i'm sure theres more to the phone than just the look, games etc, hardly any1 plays bcuz itz extra, you need a phone to make phone calls, the extra features like only 9% of people use to full advantage, so i think the phone is better than many say, buh i see what your saying, good point ;-)
I have this nokia 8800 and the phone looks absolutly great but thats about it the camera is crap the games are crap the functions and speakers are yes crap and the battery live is absolute crap I ould not advise anyone to purchase this phone unless you want it for the look then I understand but people are right its the biggest waste of money I have ever spent and I rate it 2/10 and thats just for looks thanks for reading hope you take note think first!
To Timbo and others:
There are two categories of people posting here.
Those who want their phone to be first of all useful, functional, with good performance and then how it looks and those who set as an only priority to have a phone that is pretty to show off with it.
I belong in the first category and as a user of all high-end Nokia 8-series phones i have to state that Nokia SE doesnít justify its value of money but itís only a subjectively pretty phone.
I wouldnít have a problem if it was a good, useful (which itís not) expensive phone.
Nokia 8800 and SE are two overpriced marketing tricks products without substance . Itís not a matter of money but simply i donít want to be ripped off.
We donít buy expensive things to feel special and to show off. We buy them because
they make the difference and respond to their use, quality and value of money.
You donít have to criticize others because they have different opinion than yours.
Everyone has the right to say his/her opinion even if itís positive/negative or you agree/disagree with them.
Too much discussion and argument for nothing and for things that everyone has different point of view and opinion.
looks like the wastest mobile in the world. see the look. it looks like old model..... waste waste.......
i have one of these, and the thing is, true its expensive, but its not expensive when it comes with the contract. the battery life is fairly poor, around 1-2days and then its back to the charger. but the design and few features more than makes up for the overall phone, it has a camera, it has gprs, its got sms, phone, a few games and apps, and thats fine by me
i am using the nok 8800, were problem is with battery backup, is there any alternative like changing the battery which would be better,
Just want to say something to a post i saw on the 3rd page i think..By Neil.. He said..
In response to Nokiaguy;
Why? Why would you waste your money on something that is purely design? Do you really think that people care that you have an over-price yet under-specced handset?
Sure it looks pretty n' all, but it's just a waste of money. Now, before you all start going on about how I have no taste, can't affod it etc - I own my own business and Am on here looking for a new phone. Secondly, I wear armani suits and Prada shoes.
I currently have a PDA, which is prerfect for what I need. I don't understand why people would actually go ahead and buy this handset...
Let's look at the facts:
1) It does nothing.
2) It's way too expensive.
3) It does nothing.
Go ahead, buy it, try nd look cool with it, but enjoy people laughing at you and calling you a "poser"...
Right..Poser? So many people have said it, if you wear Aramani suits and prada shoes...why? what's wrong with the 1z down your local clarks? or the suits in asda?
The bottom line is, because this 8800 might be a little overpriced u say it's crap
fact of the matter is why spend all that money on thouse suits and shoes? when it doez the same job as an less expensive one? same as what ur saying with this phone
You are one thing..a hypocrite
The phone is made for what purpose? to send and recieve voice convosations, maybe text message and maybe camera use or music
Why do you need to be extra and say this phone is crap because it doesn't have many features?
You tell me, which of the features on the phone do you even know how to use? in general
Fact of the matter is, dont say something is ccrap for the soul purpose of it being overpriced
I could say your clothing is crap, has no real design, waste of money, but does any1? No...Why?
Because it's a luxourise item, same as this phone, stick to what the phone is made for, if u can afford it buy one
If u cant buy one which is cheaper, up to you
Dont say this phone is crap because of it's price
It's annoying now..
I dont understand all the negative posts about this phone, this isnt a phone for everyone, it is for people who can afford to spend £500 for a phone. You need to understand that some people dont need all the features you get with Series 60 and PDA phones. These are the people that will buy this phone. I recieved mine yesterday and it is worth every penny. The Sirocco is definately 'luxury redefined'.
I have Nokia 8800 which I like it's looking, and appreciated by all my freinds. But the problem I really have is the battery life and other freinds using the same phone we share it. Is it possible to impouve the battery and give the Nokia it's good reputation and value of money for the 8800 which even in it's advert says that desavantage is very expensive? Please let us enjoy this beautfull phone.
just out of my curiousity, I am wondering how offen you are using wifi on your fone beside using it to call or text message or email. dont wanna offend anyone but everytime I pull out my Sirocco, people start go "WOW", your phone look nice....and blah blah blah. However, i never see anyone ask me on my PDA. Do you have this experience?
I highly agree with previous positive post. The phone is elegant but business like, they sell the retail here in New Zealand for $1500 which is quite expensive, but still I enjoy the phone and it definitly lives up to my expectations. Cannot find any con's right now :D
I just ordered one, i think it looks brilliant and will be more than happy to be using it! features? all u need is a music player, send and recieve calls and text message, what more do you need? phone looks the businesses and feels like it too.
This phone is terrible looks good but poor features battery life is useless even with both batteries. Such a let down from Nokia and heavily overpriced.
