well everyone know waht specs this fone has and I hope you read all about this beauty before going to buy this, didnt you?
Got this Sirocco last week, disapointed again, there're nothing new and better about this phone, just a different look, better camera and a bit more memory(the Usd300.00 Samsung E900 got all these plus a lot more),should have keft my old Silver 8800 coz atleast it cost me less and did it jobs, wonder if people whose gave this phone 2 thumps up have ever had any problem?I've to take it back to Nokia after 4 days to fix the software problems(turning off 2,3 time a day)but Nokia said that there're nothing they can do and suggested that I've to master reset the phone if it does it again? For people who really want to get this phone then think again and if you want to pay more than Usd1000 just for the look or showing off then it's different story.
Okay, so I'm ecstatic with this thing. I was using the 8800, and what bothered me the most about it was the release of the 8801. Now, with the new design, and BLACK on top of that, I am a happy little clam. I don't expect much from my mobile phones except making and receiving phone calls, which this can do with style. I have an E61 with which to surf and email and such. I really don't use to camera except to goof off.
I'll be one of the first to admit, I bought this with the intention of showing it off. Not everyone can afford a phone at this price that fails so miserably at multitasking. There are so many other phones out there that can do so much more at a lower price, BUT do they draw random remarks from strangers whereever you go? From the posh boutiques to the grocery store, everyone has something to say about my new phone. I thrive in the attention.
People can think what they will, but to me, being able to buy a toy that costs over a thousand dollars just because you like the way it looks, pleases me to no end. I am proud of the small amount of wealth I have acquired, and have no qualms in showing others. Others should not have a problem with that.
This phone is just that, a phone. It is not a suitable MP3 player or digital camera or anything else overly techincal, but it suits my needs perfectly. I'm sure there are many others out there that feel the same way.
Tossers phone ? You are just jealous, say it. We meet a lot of people like you, hundreds of phones being sold in your country and you make comments on the ones you cannot buy. And Ninha, Nokia did not dissapoint you, go see their page, lots of phones there with tons of memory, N93 can take a 2GB card etc... Why look at this phone, its not for you buddy.
Absolute tossers phone,
I can see the people who buy this need to substitue for something else
why not EXPANSIVE MEMORY??! i'd consider buying it if i could make the memory bigger to use it as a decent mp3 player. i can't believe. nokia has disappointed me a lot.
i just want to hear read a review of this phone from someone who bought it to know if there are any negative issues before i buy it.
A perfect match, I'd love to see this Nokia 8800 Sirocco engraved with Audi Q7 title and come along Q7 black as ordinary Nokia 8800 was featured with Aston Martin
Noname, you are wrong, we dont consider 1000 usd as being rich, and you dont have to be famous to own a 8800 Sirocco. Maybe a Vertu yes. We are just fed up with you guys and your negative perceptions . If you know this phone has got nothing, then move on, go to the next page man, this page is for 8800 comments, and all we hear is ' not worth it, no features, no memory card, and such'. The whole world knows that, so be constructive or go to your feature phone page and hang out there and exchange how many times your phone hang today questions.
This phone is only a very very normal phone... meanwhile... the price for it is too high!
Someone had taken things too personal.too proud to own expensive phone(they think it'is)and sail feeling sorry for someone else whose can't afford to have one(not really),I know you're proud to be a Sirocco 8800 but just keep it for yourself,we do not own one not becourse we can't afford it but we don't think it's wise to spend that much of money for the phone with lack in features and got nothing but the look, have a look at the sale figures of all the phone makers,Nokia is falling behind and losing thei reputation which they've been building for year, seem like they concentrate on something which attract the rich and famous(someone sometime think they're),owning a Sirocco doesn't mean you're rich and famous(think again).Spend the money wisely and only pay for what you want and serve you well don't just show off and you'll be regret.
Yes Nismo you can. However you cannot charge a 00 battery on the Sirocco charger, I tried that and it does not charge, but I did not try the other way round. Direct charging without desktop no problem.
Looks cool but of u r looking for a phone with better features.. u can give this a skip
hey does anyone know if i can use the 8800 sirocco battery(bp-6x)on 8800?
Does anyone know whether we can send and receive business cards on this phone?
Keep on giving your negative comments and keep on dreaming.....we, owners are enjoying this 8800 Sirocco very much, and we are all so sorry for you.....!!!
I really don't like the idea of keep everything in one device (unless Apple comes with with the concept of iPod+iPhone) I also dont like to keep all available features in a cell phone coz its only made to make calls not as handy Accessory.
I don't need a music player with Gigs of spaces on memory card to save my music collection coz I've iPod, I really want a camera on a cell phone either coz I've a Canon EOS 350D, I don't want to have a mailbox for my emails in my mobile too coz I've HP nx6110. I love to keep things separate and organized with their features and what they meant to be...not for useless headachs to bang my head with a mobile fone and put everything under one roof.
One thing I'm agree is now a days technology is changing rapidly and we buy some thing with right hand and very next hour theres some else invented on our left side but I still have my NOKIA 8890 since it was launched and its really in perfect condition and rocks. I hope this beast in a beauty will stay like that other 88xx and I'm getting mine next week ;-)
At last NOKIA admited http://www.nokia.co.uk/nokia/0,8764,96401,00.html
