IPS display is probably the reason why I'd like to get this phone.
Anonymous, 24 Jun 2020Why are they still using ips lcd display in a 500 Euro phone, 10 years ago mid range nokia pho... moreBacause IPS lcd's are better then a lot of oleds, and this phone is not 1500 to afford the best quality oled their is. Also, the price is justified because of the antenna it supports, only the chip that supports 5g costs way more then the older 4g capable ones. The prices will go down with time, but for the moment, 5g devices are pricy, and let's not forget this device is the only one supporting all the bands 5g has till date, that is another extra pay.
Why are they still using ips lcd display in a 500 Euro phone, 10 years ago mid range nokia phones like c7 had oled display.
India lunch date for confirming
grii, 18 Jun 2020Such a shame. I was going to support Nokia and jump all over this but the LCD screen is a deal... moreWhy? Ips lcd's are better for battery life then Oleds, no matter what others say, olend does not turn off any pixel in android because their is no real blacks in the system, henche consuming way more battery the LCDs. As for Nokia ips lcd's they are really good. Take a look at 7.2 their is a very small difference to Amoled. I don't know why, but i would prefere IPS over Oled in flagships, well, nobody does that.
Anonymous, 19 Jun 2020You still have Sony option, LG , Asus, buy sony if you want best screens, some sony phones eve... moreHi,
I would like to stay further with Nokia, but actual 2.3 makes me nervous because of many probs I am having last few months.
Prob is with this 2Gb RAM and makes everything slower.
I tried before few days to repair my Nokia 7 plus, but there is no repair parts in EU because of virus and stopped delievering.
I should to buy better phone with minimal 4Gb RAM and with this one or future 9.3 could take my chances.

Forget apple and google phones, they are scam.
Such a shame. I was going to support Nokia and jump all over this but the LCD screen is a dealbreaker. OLED or nothing. Guess Samsung is still the only real non Chinese option
dejan, 17 Jun 2020redmi note 8 pro is better(250$ - same specs) nokia (500$) - same specs.hmmmmm........... We are talking about a Nokia here! Plus Nokia runs nearly stock Android and will get updates up to 3 years! Redmi's UI is problematic and will not get updates the same way as Nokia does.
Lol, 17 Jun 2020It's PureView display kiddo..u know PureView Display better then AMOLED display LolIt is called Pure display and has to do with color dznamics and rendering of image colors in different situations. PireView is the camera name first used in 2012 on nokia 808.

nokia (500$) - same specs.hmmmmm...........
Same spec? Seriously? That Redmi is 2019 model and you compared it with the upcoming 2020 model?
::facepalm::
From my perspective this phone comprise with 3 things which is:-
1. It based on Android one (cofirm of android updates and it's ecurity patches for 3 consecutive years compared to redmi/xiaomi MIUI which full of ads and bloatware.
2. This phone are based of 7nm chip/processor compared to 12nm chip/processor on redmi.
3. This phone has the capability of 5G connectivity which the redmi does not.
Hopes that makes you a bit more clear.

Lol, 17 Jun 2020It's PureView display kiddo..u know PureView Display better then AMOLED display LolOk easy there, it's an ips lcd, there is no technology called "pureview", it's just branding, yes there are some advantages to the lcd diplays, yes nokia's phones have the best lcd displays, that still doesn't mean this display is going to be equal to an oled at the same price. Having said that, my problem with this phone is not the LCD and not even the chip set, at 599€, I see nothing special about it, especially the camera, a mid-range main sensor, no telephoto, the only thing that could justify this pricing is the 5G, which is still not enough to convince the majority of people, especially since this is not a flagship that could give the "future proofing" excuse.
M.ZULQARNAIN , 14 Jun 2020ips lcd....? now 2020 not 2000It's PureView display kiddo..u know PureView Display better then AMOLED display

Does this phone Support wireless charging?
been waiting for Nokia for a long time to launch a flagship.
an LCD and a mid-range cpu is not considered flaghship!!!

Such a shame.. I love the quality of those phones
