Great design n spec bt crap s40 ruined dis , if it would hv wid s60, it will worth every single penny of 6000 ..bt for s40 price must nt hv crossed d threshold of 4500 ..oh poor nokia u cn beg for ideas we r here please dont disappoint us so much..:-(

Just look at sony ericsson Java phones, from many years, they all have apps minimizing feature & a very huge java heap size..

But, like I said, they will make sure that you get some decent memory on board as they change the OS. Unless otherwise, nobodys going to buy it.

if any one wants to adjust brightness of these asha series mobiles he needs to wait for nokia to provide some soft ware update to do that and really i used asha 200 it was shocking for my eyes and couldnt use more than one day had to give out...

1) Why 1ghz?

3) Music player can be background. Pre-installed prg "Social" can hide, which is quite slow by the way. Default browser can not. But, it keeps the fb session as its closed. And you can start from the last page unless you logout or clear the cookies. So as opera mini.
Some prgs are quite optimized for the social use. Other than, its still a single task OS.
They will install 1ghz continuously as they make the new phone in this year. Don't worry about the memory. They will increase the memory. But, need to install basis.

1) Why 1ghz?
Because its fast. I don't quite get it why people are so complaing about it??
2) Memory
Given the specification, how much exactly do you need? For what?
3) Minimize apps.
I am not sure I am answering your question. But, some apps can be "hide" without closeing the apps. May be, not so many. Because of the memory limitation as you said.
