Shivaji, 13 Jun 2012You know dude, What multitasking is? You are chatting in Facebook and needs a phone no stored ... moredude are you even know what multitasking is? Proper ultitaksnig can't do iPhone or Android (they just pause app). Real multitasking can do Symbian, Maemo, Meego/Harmattan and probably few others wich are already on a graveyard with Maemo and Harmattan and Symbian will follow...
I'm not talking those OS's are not quick and almost lagless with latest hardwere, but they don't poses REAL MULTITASK!
For this price of point it's more then decent phone and offers more then concurence at this price point.
You can buy better phone than this, but you will had to pay more too.

Asha 311...
for me.. Its a waste of money... It has good capacitive touch screen...
wifi.. But its not worthy... Coz, it runs on s40 os.. Which does not support multitasking... Its mean if i using fb.. At the same, if i got a message then i have to close the browser to read the message...
and java phones does not support voip.... Means i cant call my nimbuzz friends for free... :(
its better to go for samsung wave 575.. Which runs bada os... Both nokia and samsung has almost same spec... But wave support multitasking... And looks smarter them asha...
Why nokia making phones with s40 os...
wake up nokia... And make some cheap smartphone which runs on atleast symbian s60v3

multytasking,gorillaglass,1gh processer are good but lack of flash light to 3.2 cemara disapointing kindly put a flash light for nokia fans & increase price Rs.1000 it will be hot cake.

1.Android phones like Samsung pocket play angry birds smoothly...Have you ever tried it before posting such a comment?
2.And what do you mean by android 2.3.6 is old?what about the s40 os...?It's been in use for longer time than android 1.0
3. What do you mean by there is no use buying an android if it can't run two apps? Just open the running services in the Android task manager and you shall see for yourself how many apps Android runs in the background.
4.There is nothing like semi multitask...its either multitasking or no multitasking.
5. Not as good ones present on the play store.
And you seem to be happy about 15 angry birds level when you can get more than 100 on android.

I Wil buy this piece if it costs around 6000rs.. 1 thing s40 never offered is multitasking. A must thing an user expects in his mobile.
Nokia never tried to make s40 rich in features. They jst moved wid changes not added anything extra to make it rich..
Next major things i expect from asha phones (not suddenly) r gps, tv out, nfc, bt 3, multitasking, even higher resolution screen, better camera experience & features, browser wid flash, more codec support.
Sure starters wil hav a smartphone experience in low end.. And competition for boring galaxy y like droids..

Nokia developer site says it has 16 bit display that means its 65k color display not 56k. Gsmarena correct the spec.

You are chatting in Facebook and needs a phone no stored in the phone book.. you have to exit the chatting application and then only you can open some other thing. Also it is a OLD (Historic actually) OS. No application other than Java runs in it. Even I could not find a office file viewer for my S40 phone. Internal memory also is very less. It is 3 GB in Galaxy Pocket now a days. No multitasking means even a animation is not smooth, all complex application needs multiple threads to run. Well if you just call, sms listened to music and occasionally do some facebook then it is ok. Otherwise S40 is useless. I don't know why nokia is using this. They could atleast use S60 instead which is a multitasking OS.
