I bought it 1,5 months ago. Building quality is okey, better than old 2600 classic ! S40 is working very good, fast & without any problem. I update firmware v5.90 very easy. i connect wi-fi, check e-mails, reading facebook, web pages etc. everything work well. Touch screen very good responsible. This is my first touchscreen mobile but i'm in 1 day learn & use everything. Battery life 3 or max 4 days, i think it will be longer but okey. Camera photo-video quality 5 point (from 10), loud speaker power is good. I thinking if only battery life be longer i like it more.
Plz tell me........this mob. Has good camera & picture quality......or not?......i heard thats it's camera quality is very poor........plz tell me about its camera quality........

MAK, 21 Apr 2013Nokia should start selling CHOLAY...... This 311 Wi-Fi is giving me tough time. Unable to conn... moreHey MAK, I did hear that a few devices are facing some WiFi connectivity Issues wherein the WiFi does connect with your router but while trying to use the Internet it doesnt work. SO if thats the case with you than I have found a very simple solution.
This phone has a "Brand New Browser" which has been Pre-Configured to connect to NOKIA Servers so that a Huge amount of Data can be compressed, which in turn makes the Browsing a Lot FASTER. But the downside is all of this is for the 2G/3G data and certainly not for the WiFi. Now for some reason the OS software gets stuck on the Mobile Internet Profile (as Default) & forces the Phone to only use Mobile Data and doesnt switch to the WiFi Mode when required. I think the operator settings are causing the issue.
SO heres what can be done to get it out of that default Profile:
Method 1 (Simple One): Insert New Sim.
1. Remove your present Sim & Insert a new Sim.
2. Start your Mobile & it will automatically receive New Internet Settings for the New Sim.
3. Now go to Settings >> Configuration >> Activate Configuration and set this New Access Point as Default.
4. In the " Setting >> Connectivity >> Mobile Data >> Select "DISABLE"
5. In the WiFi Section "Settings >> Connectivity >> select Ask First.
6. Now Start Your WiFi, Scan for & enter password n everything and start using your WiFi Internet it should WORK.
**MAKE Sure that ur using ur WiFi and not your Mobile Data thats why I asked you to DISABLE the Mobile Data.
Method 2: (Even Simpler): Create a New Internet Setting / Profile yourself.
1. Go to the Menu >> Settings >> Configuration >> Personal Settings. Here Select Options >> Add New >> Enter BOGUS Data >> SAVE.
2. REPEAT 3 to 6 Above.
HOPE it HELPs !!!!

Official Nokia Website where it says "Nokia Asha 311 - Always Ready to go". On the entire page only where the Phone has SPECIFIC SmartPhone Like Feature's there they have used the SMARTPHONE Word. Like the Touchscreen or the Processor.
You've got to Look properly & Understand the Proper Meanings........ && Certainly only checkout the Official Sources, otherwise you end up wasting your own time & Confuse others.
lp, 21 Apr 2013can you make video calls with this? it says 3G but the specs say no secondary camera. has anyo... moreWho ever told you that Video Calls require 3G ony OR that if a Phone has 3G than it has to support Video Calling ???
Video Calls can also be made on 2G provided either you have the Front Camera or an App to use your the Main Cam for Vid Calling.
Video Calling on 3G is a very Miniscule Feature that Most of the Telecom Providers are using in INDIA to make a Fool out of the End User. 3G is more about the Data Packets, HIGH Speed Internet (14 Mbps in 311) which is capable of supporting Data Intensive Apps like Youtube or Live TV, Online Games, Music Download.... OR Lets say using the Mobiles HIGH Speed Internet on your Computer..... You Name it!!!!
