There is no excuse for the voice leakage problem. Unacceptable at any price level.
I read with interest some readers are ranting about the Nokia C1-02 lacking this function and that. they seems to forget that this is an entry level phone meant for the budget conscious users. For a phone of this price, I find it to be a very decent phone.Costing S$48 (in Singapore) this phone can indeed support commonly used functions (some downloaded from the net via GPRS without any problems). I have downloaded and run a number of Java games, eBuddy, Facebook, Gmail and the phone is able to handle all these applications without any problems. Definately worth the money !
I think you should try this phone the normal apps of s40 is here except camera. themes? i don't think that they will not provide over the internet? hmmmmm? i have almost 20 of themes for my c1-02 and also its not heavy unlike my p990 and also my htc and that is my handy phone to me
One of the best no1 nonsense phone around in this world.
it is not supporting themes
C1-02 with s/w 5.40 :
This is my first NOKIA telephone.
-3.5mm headphone jack
So, this is somewhat a complete bussiness/office/restricted access telephone.
-Shiny black plastic attracts dirt and fingerprints. I could not find a grey one to buy.
-Dual band only
-BL-5CB (800mAh) battery for Euro market
The Ugly (WTF):
-The so called voice leakage problem. To cut the costs NOKIA replaced three different parts 1. ear speaker 2. ringer and 3. vibrating motor with ONE unit that does it all. The conversation is heard through the uni-speaker from the back of the phone through the battery cover. People around you hear the conversation louder and better then you. This unbelieveable issue can not be fixed.
- Volume control the same for media player and phone calls! WHY? This makes voice leakage problem even more pronounced.
-No display brightness/contrast setting (at all)WHY?
-Very slow USB performance (I installed premium class 10 4GB microSD)
-Nokia Media Suite losses connection when the phone is connected through USB cable
-Media player in this one is a cheap looking mess and has mind of it's own. Unintuitive. Does not even scroll song names and details. No option to mark files and add them to playlist. When you manage to create a playlist by manually adding songs one by one to the playlist and then open the playlist it just plays the first song and doesn't list songs in the playlist. At least radio does OK.
seems like a nice secondary phone on a cheap price at that...1700+php
