Johnnomads, 28 Mar 2017Hated mini 8, very confusing, reinstalled 4.4 instinct Same here. the text is too small on 8
I used mine for 3 years. I dropped it and it never broke. It's fast, surfing the net with Opera mini is fine. The camera isn't really good, but it can take some ok photos with steady hands in good lighting conditions. The headphone jack is broken in my C2-01, but I can still use the built-in speaker or bluetooth speakers for listening to music (and there's a microSD slot too). There are some great games you can play with on this phone (Sims 3, Call of Duty, Medal of Honor, Aqua dig, Prince of Persia). The 2 biggest problems I had: you can't take photos with love battery (but you can listen to music at max volume and surf the net or play a game at the same time with low battery) and every text is abbreviated. After all it's a great phone for older people or as secondary phone.
Kaliostro, 19 Feb 2017I am interested to buy one of these mobiles and I do not know if it suits me as a pensioner. ... moreThis is a terrific phone. no fancy junk. To make calls, receive calls, send texts, receive tects it is perfect. i had one, locked to Vodafone. It asked me for a "code" I put in three or four combinations. That froze the phone. It became a throwaway item then. I brought another exactly the same, but "unlocked" perfect, i love this simple phone. i am 71 yo.

... moreUnlocked phones are phones with a software fix that allows them to work on any network. Most modern phones are sold 'locked' to one network to reduce prices, as the network provide will then subsidies the phone's production.
Assuming you buy from a retail shop, an unlocked phone will be factory new.

I like my Nokia C2-01,but not as much as my Blackberry 8250 Curve. The things I love about the Nokia C2-01 is that the internet works faster and when I download a video or a song,it buffers, like while the video or song downloads it play and download at the same time(but sadly YouTube doesn't work on it,still),and most of the touchscreens and new tecknology phones cannot do something like that.I use this old phone for everything and it's still working (since 2012-2016) and i bet it will last till a lot more years (maybe)

My favourite phone have had 3 not including the one purchased around 3 months ago. Living in Australia Telstra dropped G2 from 1 December 2016. This is a G3 phone but Telstra must have done something to the G3 channels because the phone has behaved very erratically and only now operates close to major cities as such has become very unreliable. Ironically went to an old around 2012 version which with the new battery performs much better although suspect Telstra has fiddled with the G3 frequencies as I suspect they want to shut them down as well. Anyway if you are in Australia tread very warily with this phone sadly.
