[deleted post]The price is around Rs. 5300, which is very reasonable considering its features. The date of market launch in India is unclear. From what information I have gathered, it should be available by June beginning.

Series 40 phones have a feature where in you could change the font size. Is it included in this model? Having a hard time appreciating the broad screen size of my nokia E63 without my eyes squinting due to the smallish fonts. Age can do that to your eyes(farsightedness). An adjustable font size would be a big plus. Just asking.. Thanks! =)

Anonymous, 19 May 2010Will this S40 be upto the mark of Symbion OS ??S40 6th edition is NOT on par with Symbian S60v3FP2.
The internet browser in S40 6th edition is THE same as the one in S60v3FP2/S60v5. It's the webkit browser + Flashlite 3.0. Meaning that you can browse the web just like in desktop computer (Flash flash flash).
But the S40 is **NOT** a true multi-tasking OS. It have some mini plugin for some apps to make it appear multi task (just like the apple iphone OS). So, this limited multi task is only available for some apps, mainly the one that nokia make and supply with the handphone. This because this S40 device use a less powerfull CPU. It would crawl like turtle if true multitask is on (and really defeat the purpose). If you want miltitask, go for S60/Symbian, if you want cheaper hardware S40 is for you. Another side effect on this is web browsing loading will be slower compared to Symbian device.
All in all. This is a nice device for this price. If you can't afford a more expensive device, then, this device is perfect for you. If you can afford more expensive device, try E5 or C6.

This phone has an S40 6th Gen OS which is the latest in the S40 family and is capable of desktop like internet browsing experience through the pre-installed Opera Mini browser.
As far as the launch date goes, it is not clear. Salesmen at Nokia dealerships tell May end or June beginning...some even said July. I hope it launches on the 20th of May itself. Can't wait.
