offmaps, 19 Dec 2010Is it possible to use OviMaps completely offline?
I've read that the first time you use Ovi... moreyes it's possible to use ovi maps without any 3g/gprs connection. just disable a-gps. The only difference is that getting a position fix takes significantly longer (2-5 minutes v/s 5-6 seconds).
You can use ovi suite to load maps to the phone.

i am owning this piece of art since last one month. previously i used nokia 6303 classic, though it is a very good phone, still it gave a lot hardware problem. anyway,i am here to review c5, not 6303c,so lets get back to business. nokia c5.... this phone is really a value for money.... fantastic speed, awesome build quality, slim, standard battery back up, though camera lacs autofocus, still quality is very good.... pic quality is better than my bro's n79...,,gps is very helpful, no hanging issues, the only drawback is sound is a bit low... so i have bought a sony earphone xb20ex... now sound is also wonderful. overall , i will rate this fone a handsome 9 out of 10. hope this review will be helpful to u guys..

Is it possible to use OviMaps completely offline?
I've read that the first time you use OviMaps you have to define a 3G connection to be used. What if I don't define a connection? Does it still work? Can I download the maps with the computer, and then transfer the maps to the phone?
If I buy the phone, I'd like to use OviMaps without transfering one bit (or one byte) through 3G. Is it possible?
