But my experience is tha... moreVenkat, more outlets will open up their wifi facilities for free, for their customer usage sooner or later. I mean is like 35+ yrs ago, shops with television was something special that you need to pay extra to go into. So, if they subjected you to pay for the facility, then go else where, it won't hurt.
So far, display is good enough for me. No problems with online streaming or offline replay. However, you might want to consider installing a third party browser. It will give you more options on font size and zoom ratio.
The default browser's max font size is just okay, if you got a normal eye sight. I'm using Opera Mobile because of its well designed navigating functions.
Before you head-out to get one, try it out underneath a normal florescent light. ON the phone and look at the number pad. This is one thing I missed out on my earlier review.
May be is a design flaw. The keypad is big (no issue) and you won't notice anything wrong with it till you press it. The strong backlit immediately overcast the visibility of the number on the keypad. Nokia could have put a light sensor in front of the phone to toggle the keypad backlit function. Try it out on a test unit, then you know what I mean.
Mine is a white color unit. Why ? I don't know, may be is just me.

I don't know where you live, but, here in indonesia, more and more fast food, restaurant and cafe providing free wifi for their user.
I'm not talking about a starbuck cafe type. I'm talking about the cheap restaurant cafe that were on Kentucky or Mc Donald price range and even on several local/cheap 'padang' restaurant and 'sunda' restaurant also giving a free wifi.
I have called Nokia store in Bashundhara City today, they said it is 12700 in Bangladeshi Taka. Thats about 180 USD.

But my experience is that most WIFI Hotspots are secured with a pasword. Well you can go to an internet cafe which is cheaper than roaming data.
Anyway I still will buy the C5, because of it's size and weight and the easy keypads. Is the display good enough to watch streaming video and surf/read text on mobile websites?
Very good phone..just buy it..like the metal cover at the back..easy keypad..sound good..

Got the phone yesterday. Nice device except no wifi (I know before hand) and the odd location of the ON/OFF switch (I didn't know it can be a problem) that can be a problem at time.
For me, having a wifi is an option (coz, I got a unlimited monthly 3G access) but when you have lots of goodies packed into phone like C5, wifi is definitely a must for ad-hoc online access, specially when you are traveling abroad with costly and hungry roaming monster next to you.
Position of ON/OFF switch is a problem. You can never know when you accidentally double pressed the button and OFF the unit. Happened to me twice last night.
Then, there is the back battery cover. I still prefer the slide and clip cover. C5's cover felt unsecured
and tilted slightly upward (near the speaker) because 2 sponges strip placed underneath it.
And yes, display as reviewed earlier, is not bright enough under the sun but that's not a problem (I mean why you want to stand under the hot sun and look at the display, you want to get cooked ?, Okay may be not). Still visible and readable.
Speaker is good (SE phone has better sound quality), although someone out there may have their opinion on the sound issues but I say you want quality, go get yourself a 5kg stereo boom-box lugged it on you shoulder and pump.
I'm not a brand loyalist, but anything powered by a dedicated mobile OS is definitely better than some scaled down PC's OS, and Symbian is good a that.
My second phone (I got E51, still kicking after 3+ yrs). I choose, Nokia because is reliable and durable compare to some bigger names.(you know who). I choose buttons over touch screen, simply you can press them without looking at it. (try navigate a touch screen phone blind folded, you know what I mean).
At MYR620-670 (Malaysia), the phone is affordable and simply worked. For now, I like it.
