Anni Baba, 29 Feb 2012Does the code *#92702689# work on this phone?Yes, it does. It'll show the phone's life timer
Priya, 29 Feb 2012I like and using c601 4rom 4days bt i dnt know how use wifi
plz help meHey Priya, what version of Symbian is your C6-01 running. Is it Symbian^3/Anna or does it have Belle??
If your phone is running on Belle you can swype your finger from top to bottom of your home screen and it'll appear a shortcut to conectivity options including Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and mobile data (3G). Just pick Wi-Fi, the icon will turn on in blue and then you´ll be able to pick a wireless modem if a nearby one is found.
The other way (it also applies to S^3 and Anna devices) is entering to the main menu>>Settings>>Connectivity>>Wi-Fi.
That's it. As simple as that
Garfius, 29 Feb 2012Nokia is almost the worst phone manufacturer in the world, i have been used nokia for 10 years... moreSome of your info is misleading. You're just acting like a typical Nokia basher.
-You can actually transfer yor contacts to Microsoft Outlook via Nokia suite. This has been available for years and I'm pretty sure Nokia was one of the first phone manufacturers to do so. The other way to transfer yor contacts is via bluetooth. I've been able to transfer some contacts to Android powered devices. Just one (Motorola) hasn't been able to receive my contacts and that has nothing to do with unability to transfer contacts, but more likely some uncompatibility between manufacturers for bluetooth tranfers (just see Apple for more details about poor BT compatibility).
-I don't think it's that hard to program for Symbian. I'm not doubting about your programming abilities but as I see there are lots of Symbian apps and always has been that way. I know there´re more apps for Android and iPhone, but I'm also aware that has more to do with popularity of those systems, not because is harder to program on Symbian.
-If you have been a Nokia user for 10 years you must be aware Nokia was one of the first companies to make phones that can be used without SIM card. It has been that way since 2005 or so, on S40 and Symbian devices, just the S30 cheap devices can't be used without SIM card but neither most of other manufacturers cheap phones do so. I've been able to use my 5 previous Nokia phones in offline mode without need of a SIM card. But it's funny how my mom's Motorola Atrix won't do so even with its dual core processor adn 16gb internal memory.
I'm still waiting for some valid reasons to say Nokia is one of the worst brands. There isn't perfect brand but I'm aware Nokia is far away from the last spot.
Pl Do not update symbian anna-belle, touch pad are sloly, it is not user friend, stock phone memory after update,-274 mb. Waste Time...................
I like and using c601 4rom 4days bt i dnt know how use wifi
plz help me
Nokia is almost the worst phone manufacturer in the world, i have been used nokia for 10 years.
-once you got a nokia phone, your data are lockes in nokia products, cannot export contacts to outlook or anythink.
-it is almost impossible to program anythink for symbian o.s. (i am a programmer)
-you cannot use your phone without a sim card, even when it is free from any call company(orange, vodafone...)
- and many others.
tonmoy kashoyp, 28 Feb 2012can I change my phone c6-01's operating system?
means my phone's operating system was syambia... moreIt can't be done. Altough the hardware should be able to support Android (lets remember there are low end Android phones that have this or even less amount of RAM and CPU frequency) there is no way to replace a propietary OS, even if this is a smartphone. It´s still not a PC so it has internal limitations. There is also some hardware not supported by Android like the nHD screen resolution of C6-01 and all the rest of Symbian touch screen phones or the green/red hardware keys. It's just not that easy.
BTW: Why on earth would you like to get Android when you can get Symbian Belle in your C6-01. Personally I'm very satisfied with it and it has nothing else to ask to my dad's Galaxy Ace or my mom's Motorola Atrix 4G.
can I change my phone c6-01's operating system?
means my phone's operating system was syambian^3. and iwant to change syambian^3 to android2.3
what it can be possible? please replay me......
Anonymous, 20 Feb 2012I too faced problem after updating my nokia C6 01 to symbian belle in operating ovi store.I Th... moreThank God for not installing Belle on my mobile.
For viewing your comments i dont want to install Belle on my mobile. I am very happy with Anna.
is it really true dat 1 can degrade its higher os lyk belle 2 its lower os lyk anna/s^3 wenever he/she wants i dont think such becoz in my opinion updates of os r made only for updation nt degradation in my point of view . . .
Those who knw d xact info abt degradation pls let me knw dat whether my opinion is ryt or wrong . . .
c6-01 is far better than all the mobiles at its price range....its even better than 701 coz 701 doesnt support nhd flv files.....
vinod, 27 Feb 2012If i Update to bella, and revert back or downgrade to anna/ symbian os^3 is away to do this?Just Nokia centers can downgrade your OS, the other way is hacking your phone, download the Anna/Symbian^3 software and then reinstalling it on your phone. Personally I'd opt for the first option but I know many people live far away from some Nokia center (personally I live 120km away from the nearest Nokia center), so it's still not the best solution for everyone
Hlo frens plz suggest me either anna or bell supports skype calling. Which os is the best 1.
Im using C6-01 since last six months. No problem with the cell. excellent apps are available on Nokia OVI store. Free Nokia Belle update is also available on OVI. Picture quality is excellent. Battery life is also good. For normal use (Approx. 3-4 hours of total calls in a dy, 1 hour music, etc...) battery lasts for almost 2 and half days.
Overall experience----- HAPPY.
