AnonD-5229, 02 Apr 2011helo eveyone, nokia c7 and c6-01 which one is better? anyone can give me some suggestion? thanks..hi there..this question was answered a couple of times already but here's the difference between the two. It really depends on the user.
Camera- same 8mp cam and HD video recording
OS- same symbian^3
Internal memory- 8gb (C7) vs 340mb (C6-01)
Screen size - 3.5 (C7) vs 3.2 (C6-01)
Built - C7 slimmer while C6-01 a bit bulky
Price - C6-01 is a bit cheaper.
C6-01's main advantage is it's CBD (clear black display)
I guess that's it. Choose what suits you best.

He... morethanks for this info anonymous..but unfortunately, I have called the nearest NCC from my place. They said that, "yes, we are admitting its a hardware issue" but what they would do first is to reflash or update your phone and if that doesn't fix the issue, then they are going to replace the LCD..some phones were able to be fixed but some are still showing that discoloration (I really did'nt get that.lol.).So, they advised me to wait until they finish on working on this issue and try to call again in a few weeks to confirm if they have perfect AMOLEDs that has no defect.
by the way, to all C7 users...never have an I-shield installed on your phone if you still want to use your warranty..the one I talked to confirmed that warranty is voided if you have this on your phone simply because installing I-shield requires a liquid material sprayed on the unit.
helo eveyone, nokia c7 and c6-01 which one is better? anyone can give me some suggestion? thanks..
about the colored tint problem, its really a hardware problem, the amoled one specifically. Here in the Philippines and im sure to other countries as well, it can be fix more or less 3hrs in the NCC. Before the reason why you have to leave your phone in the NCC for a week or so is because they are not that aware with this problem, but now that they are already aware of it they can now attend to your problem.
i think they prioritise those with this kind of issue. I've read about this in a forum where a lot of c7 nd n8 users gathered. So if you have the same problem just go to the near NCC, ask first if they have amoled supply for this problem so that you dont have to leave your phone for days. I hope i was able to help.

i don't wear my earphones right...
cos it's louder when you place the left piece on your right ear and vice versa...
i wish they could add more equalizer presets in future updates...
@kiss: thanks for the reply.i guess the update comes with the newer version of qt.
@maverick:you did it again dude..another helpful tip.yup,i have installed it and it worked but just like you said, its looks kind of dull and not as cool compared to the demo.lol.so,im not using it and went back to using spp slideunlock instead.the good news is..the apps not installing before are now working.thanks again dude for the very helpful advise.

i think there's going to be a good solution coming next week regarding that brown and purple tint issue nokia c7 and n8 owners are facing here in the philippines..i have a hopefully reliable source and if successful..i'm going to tell you all next week..i don't wanna cause any confusion but if i'm not mistaken this is really a hardware issue..let's all wait next week..next week!!!

why, 01 Apr 2011i haven't tried it yet cos the last time i tried installing bubbleslock it gave loads of bugs.... moreyeah.. I'm wary of experimental software too. I've installed this but am not using it..a known bug is that it disables the torch utility when its active (but not when its not)
john, 01 Apr 2011hey dude..change topic, I tried to install that nokia sleeping screen app and it says, "u... moreYou have two options to install the sleeping screen app. Its dependant on some Qt components. If you already have them installed its not a problem, but what I'd recommend is this : download the version of the sleeping screen app with the smart installer included (available at nokia beta labs). This will automatically download any dependencies it requires if you dont already have them installed. Then connect to the internet, preferably with wifi, and launch the installer. It will download the needed components and install it. Thats how I did it, and its working fine, although I can tell you its nowhere near as neat as what you see in the demo video lol. Enjoy. :)
AnonD-4935, 31 Mar 2011i love this phone much..but now not sure wana buy it or not..mayb just consider C6-01..no idea....Go for the C7 bro, it's a great phone. I own one and I am hugely happy with it.
AnonD-2572, 31 Mar 2011I'm in the UK but I picked up the phone in Dubai. Nobody I know who's updated to PR 1.2 has an... moreI agree with you. No issues with the current update but also very much looking to 2.00 and I hope the wait will not be too long. The C7 is for me the best phone ever so far, it's solid, feels right, beautiful quality and is everything a smartphone needs to be. I am truly happy to be back into the Nokia fold.
Guys, I went to NCC today, just to go and check with them if they have any knowledge about this issue. But, to my surprise, the guys were quite unknown to this kinda problem. They didn't deny that it was a fault, agreed to it that it seems to be a Hardware Defect and suggested me to submit the phone with them at the earliest.
I have started having this automatic restart issue and the menu key problem ever since I updated it to PR 1.2. They told me that they will reinstall the software and assured me that I will receive my phone as good as new.
However, I'm not wanting to submit my phone straight away. I'll wait and watch for sometime and see how Nokia responds to this widespread issue.
I know one day I'll get my C7 AMOLED replaced, just don't wanna give them my phone for a week or so and not get it repaired.
