can anyone tell me about the battery of this fone.
is this phone better than the n900 ?
AnonD-2572, 13 Mar 2011Good to hear mate..cant agree more with your comments and especially the cover flow..I have an... moreExactly. But its not true that nokia copied album flow from apple. Nokia was the first to introduce a similar feature in gallery of s60v2 devices. Although the name 'album flow' was apple's but if one compares symbian and iOS album flow then they give a heaven and earth difference. And the way the album flow of symbian^3 seem to come from infinity at 35° towards Z axis (considering the screen as XY plane) and the albums coming side to side instead of one over the other (iOS style), makes more sense as the user can see and understand all the far end albums. IOS album flow is difficult in the sense that unless the album photo is at the center of the screen, one won't know how the image looks. Now apple's album flow looks like a cheap imitation of symbian's.

Details of how to apply certificate or how to get them can be found by googling.
As for your restart problems, I don't know whats wrong. Maybe it has something to do with the apps you installed. For eg, opera mini symbian and swype don't get along too well. They tend to crash each other (low probability, but still...). I am not sure if they do the same with C7 but it did on the C6-00.
If you want to play games for long then I recommend you to keep the mobile plugged to the charger.

..just got my new c7..but there seems to be a problem..in a course of a day i get about a minimum of 5 restart and most of 13..is this normal with symbian^3?..i have PR 1.1.and i get battery life of less than 20hours,this is with just txting and few gaming of angry birds about 20 minutes and i can't get through the day..xc..any suggestion?..is the battery damage?...and another..where to get paid apps for free..because there is no paid apps here in the philippines..thanks for those who will answer..
Anyone know what are the languages available in this phone?
I finally got my hands on nokia c7. I have to say that its a massive improvement over symbian^1 or s60v5. Everything seems perfect now. No lags, no waiting..... nothing. The screen's sensitivity is just too good. Sometimes I don't even know I even touched the screen.
The music and video player intrigued me the most. The album flow is sooooo good. No lags and the implementation of kinetic scrolling is an added plus. One thing most people might have missed is that the tiny bar at the bottom which signifies the position we are at can actually be moved. So if we have to go to the end of the albums then all we have to do is drag this bar to the right end and all the album covers flow to the end with the smoothest of effect and slows down to a halt. Man....it looks so cool. Iphone album flow is nothing compared to the speed and usability standards of symbian^3 album flow.
And the video player.....all I can say is that it played everything.....simply everything I threw at it (of course videos).
Oh btw a new application of around 28 mb size has released. Its some kind of gallery app with lots of effects and transitions. Check out n8fanclub for more details.
hi i m mmm i also want to purchase the c7.

First of all, quick office pdf Le is a total waste when it comes to viewing pdf documents. I seriously recommend 'Alternate Djvu reader'. Once you use this, you will never look back.
Pr2 update for C7 is already out. Its got new browser and portrait qwerty etc. Just check n8fanclub.com for new stuffs for symbian^3.

AnonD-3667, 12 Mar 2011Guys i may go for this phone :)
I need to know what are all the disadvantages of this phone a... moreFor disadvantages, just read Rahul's post below.
Its main advantages are its stability and free sat nav..not many people know its has a Pentaband 3G which not many phones have and is pretty useful if you travel a lot, also wifi b/g/n which in my experience is much better than other phones I've used, the music player and its cover flow are top notch (you have to see and hear it to know what I mean)and the touch screen is very smooth with good sensitivity and haptic feedback, with good kinetic scrolling.
Other disadvantages may be fewer apps as compared to the competition, but to be frank I've been able to get all the apps I wanted or needed, and also,if you're not familiar with symbian, the menu structure takes some getting used to.
Arman!, 12 Mar 2011Hi buddies! Pls, someone tell me how should i update this phone to the lastest ver? N i wana k... moreThe easiest way is to connect your phone to a good wifi network, run software updater which U'll find in your phone under applications -> Tools, and follow the prompts..if it asks you to update using OVI suite then you need to install Ovi suite on your pc and update via USB cable..
miyaw, 11 Mar 2011guys i accidentally remove the preinstalled f secure..is it going to affect the phone? No it wont..you can re-install that from ovi store..its not the full app, just the anti-theft is included by default, you have to pay to enable anti-virus.
AnonD-3112, 12 Mar 2011Hi friends.. Just a small review for people who want to know about the dis-advantages of th... moreI agree with what you've said..rumour has it the next update will bring improvements to the browser..I hope it does cos I just cant bring myself to use the present browser, Opera or even UC browser is much better, and PDF readers have always been bad on symbian devices..being bundled with Quickoffice, I dont expect too much of an improvement in that either. But like you said..there arent too many cons to live with in the C7. Cheers.
Just a small review for people who want to know about the dis-advantages of this phone. Let's begin now..
I haven't found any major disadvantages though, small ones are accptable as well as inevitable, to be honest.
1. PDF reader (quick office LE 2.5):
I found that somehow, whenever I open a PDF file, it lags while scrolling, zooming and panning. Moreover, there could have been a Pinch Zoom option here.
May be, a later firmware update should rectify this one.
2. The "Full-Focus" Camera:
Nokia C7 has an 8Mpx camera, sounds cool, but HEY!! It's not autofocus, but fixed. Not that it's poor in imaging quality, but you'll anyhow not get great images indoors, even if you have ample light. The pics taken in the dark, with only the flash, are even inferior than a 5Mpx autofocus w/ flash.
Video quality, and outdoor photos (in day-light) are simply outstanding though. Really awesome, to say the least.
3. Old Web Browser:
Yeah, you can't get away with this browser anymore Symbian. You've gotta get a move on here. The web browser is very old indeed. You wouldn't feel the Symbian^3 power while surfing. Although, the Wi-Fi & 3G connectivity is fast, the browser may spoil the fun for you. But again, it's nothing that a Software Update can't fix. We've always had updates coming in at fairly regular intervals from Nokia. Just don't keep us waiting Nokia People. :)
So, as I stated, I haven't found anything major to crib about. The device is really stable, feature-rich and I don't find any other Cons that I can tell you about at the moment.
Just hoping we get the Firmware Updates soon enough to make up for these hand-picked issues. :)
