Cause the MOST unsafe procedure to flash a phone ... moreI've used Phoenix on my earlier symbians but not on the C7..its not somethings thats for everyone which is why I didnt want to suggest that to Andrei..and updating via OVI suite hasnt caused me any problems so far..in fact its what i used to upgrade the C7 to PR 1.1. Users who know what they're doing can use the alternative..be aware it will void ur warranty and dont mess with it till ur clear on it. That said, I havent bricked a phone yet by messing with it ;)
I'm not modding or rooting the C7 cos for one I'm gonna hand it to my wife later to replace her phone and two cos the possibilities on symbian from here on in are likely to be small.I havent found any reliable community for symbian 3 ala maemo or android..know any? I use my N900 and Galaxy S for messing around..have custom kernels on both those. I'd really like to see an implementation of the NFC that the C7 has been rumored to have..its something I havent experienced on any of my previous phones.

Cause the MOST unsafe procedure to flash a phone is Ovi Suite. A single fluctuation in the server and the download might halt leaving a bricked phone in your hands. Unless there is an offline mode but still the safest and most commonly used procedure is JAF or Phoenix. Besides JAF takes only around 30-60 seconds to finish updating or reinstalling the firmware.
Oh btw, have you tried using any custom firmware for C7. Or tried editing the rofs3 and uda files to gain better access to the phone's raw hardware capabilities.

I have this phone for one week.i am very satisfied.works beatiful.is one of the best phone from Nokia.Symbia 3 os is a big step ahead for nokia.with amoled screen i dont have any issue .nokia c7 is a very good choise for only 270 euro

Andrei, 04 Mar 2011Hey Maverick,..thanks 4 replying..culd u please put me thru d process of re.installing the pr1... moreAndrei, I dont think u'll be able to reinstall ur firmware just using your phone..U'll need a PC with a good internet conn and ovi suite on ur pc and connect with a USB cable and follow the instructions it gives you..Just make sure u backup ur phone first which ovi suite will prompt you to do. The download is about 160 MB i think and will take 15 - 20 mins to complete. If your phone is umder warranty you can take it to Nokia Care and ask them to do it too, which is probably easier and safer for you. If you want to do it yourself try out what I've said and I'll be glad to give you more detailed instructions if you like.
Most of the HD games are just around $2 or so..once you have OVI store on your phone you can check it out!! you can also access it on a pc through your ovi account and send an sms with the download link to your phone through the site. Good Luck.

liin, 04 Mar 2011hi.. did you register / buy quick offce? ive seen there's already the quick offce/adobe in ths... moreThe quickoffice installed in the C7 is just a viewer..you can open and view documents but in order to create or edit documents you need to purchase a license..the N8 recently got quickoffice editing capabilities in the PR 1.1 update but I dont think the C7 will be getting the same.

I hope the issue (if it is one) doesnt interfere with the functioning of the phone like watching videos. I'm keen to know how its affected anyone who has the problem.

Hi. I just bought C7 a week ago.The strange thing i noticed is that,while making calls,my serice provider logo ( Tata Docomo ) keeps on blinking.While not on calls it is steady.Can any one tell me if this is a defect or not.Also on Network Mode most of the times Tata Docomo is not displayed ( not sure if it is due to OUT OF 3G coverage ).It is overall a good phone to use.How ever the poor headset quality and the fact that we cannot adjust equaliser settings seems to be the only drawback which I found.The battery pack up is good if we are not using the web.I would recommend this phone to all....
