Had this phone for one week.First 3 days was fine then the problems started. Freezing, having to take out the battery to reboot it and today it has totally died.Had a word with the shop i bought it from today and they advised to update the software which i was trying to do when it died, it now wont switch on , charge or anything, totally dead. Its going back tomorrow, biggest load of crap i have ever bought. If nokia think bringing out phones like this one are going to compete with the likes of the samsung wave then they are living in cloud cuckoo land .

Chances that this phone (C7) will lag hang or reboot are very low, why, because its user internal memory is 350MB against N8's 135MB. You can open more apps without a single lag and multitask more with a user internal memory of 350MB compared to a user internal memory of 135MB. Here is the breakdown from the least to the one which has the most..
      -Nokia N8 135MB
      -Nokia C6-01 340MB
      -Nokia C7 350MB
      -Nokia E7 350MB
      -Samsung Wave 390MB
      -Galaxy s 568MB
      -I PHone 4 568MB
      -Desire Hd 768MB
      -Nokia N900 768MB
Nokia N900 has been described by many as the multitasking beast. Symbian OS utilizes the user internal memory very well. Yep! There you have it, expect a lag free phone. Nokia realised this and corrected it.
The C7, E7 and C6-01 phones shouldn't lag hang or reboot.

Jannat, 06 Nov 2010anybody tried taking macro pics??? pls reply..Hi. Sadly the C7 doesn't have a Macro Mode. Only the N8 has this feature. The C7 is limited to 50cm away in which everything is within a Fixed-Focal range.

The camera on this phone model is meant to be used for everyday quick snaps. So the lens being in fixed focus will ensure most photos turn out clear & not blurry.

              Shaan. http://www.killertechtips.com/2008/05/11/how-to-backup-and-restore-contacts-files-and-other-settings-from-your-nokia-mobile-phone/

This guide will help you. All you have to do is tick Contacts & Messages folder for backup from phone to your PC.

I don't know if PCSuite requires Microsoft Outlook to be set up. But you should just be able to get PCSuite to backup the information you want & Restore it to the new phone by letting the Nokia sofftware do it all.

The Guide will tell you where PCSuite will create the backup file folder with all the Contacts & Messages.

All you have to do then is disconnect your Nokia 5800 & connect your New Nokia C7. It should do install the drivers for your new C7 providing PCSuite is hte correct version.

This is why I say make sure you download the Latest PCSuite so it will detect your new phone. It's just a case of using the Restore Option in the PCSuite program once your new phone is connected.#

PCSuite should then transfer all the correct information to the correct directories or create them on S^3 on your new C7.

Their might be easier alternatives if you Computer has Bluetooth. You can pair your Nokia 5800 to your computer Bluetooth.

You may be able to mark all contacts & send as a Business Card to your PC. I haven't done this before but there should be an Internet guide somewhere.

There are many alternative methods. You can pay for program that send contacts information but I don't know if you can send other types of information over.

Then there is the most akward difficult method of using Outlook Express or Microsoft Outlook if you have Office which I have done before to send contacts across

i just found out about one big problem with my new nokia c7.it seems that you cannot delete one by one certain entries in the call/sms log of the phone.go to applications-log then choose the second tab and there you can find all the logs.when i long press on one of them i dont get the option to delete it.i can only delete all of them by choosing the clear log option.this is a very big problem for me as i dont want certain people(lets say wife) to find out about who called me or who send me a message.if i clear the whole log i will get the big question...why did you clear it?have something to hide?can anyone help with this issue?

C7 is definitely must update if you are previous 5800 owner and love symbian but can't buy N8 and still want a great looking phone. Except loudness via speakers, C7 excels 5800 in almost every aspect.

dear nokia C7 users, which one should i buy Nokia X6 or C7? i know C7 symbian OS is the latest, but currently it still developing. is it worth to buy it though? cause maybe next year more apps and games will be available for the symbian^3. and i think symbian^3 OS will beat iphone someday.
                                  so should i buy X6 or C7?

As you can see the only area the 5800 is louder in over C7 is Voice dB. Although they are both equal at Pink Noise/Music dB, the C7 Ringing is louder than the 5800. These figures are pretty pleasing & so the music & sound should be really suitable for people upgrading to from the 5800 like me.

                                    What do you think?

                                      I havew done 4 (Loudspeaker, speakerphone) comparisons between the N5800, X6, C7, N8.

                                      Here they are:

                                      Voice in (dB)
                                      5800 is 75.7, X6 is 69.2, C7 is 66.6, N8 is 75.8

                                      Pink noise/Music dB
                                      5800 is 66.5, X6 is 66.2, C7 is 65.8, N8 is 66.2

                                      Ringing phone (dB)
                                      5800 is 68.5, X6 is 82.7, C7 is 75.9, N8 is 82.7

                                      Overall Score
                                      5800 (Good), X6 (Good), C7 (Good), N8 (Very Good)

That should sum it up. So Ketan is right, the C7 is just as loud as the 5800 during loudspeaker test. However C7 louder than 5800 when ringing phone ring tones go off.
