I suggest you to hard reset your phone and reinstall Belle completely again. Hard reset restores the original operating system from the ROM, formats the C drive and delets all data from C & E: Mass memory.
Take a backup of your important stuffs first.

doing wat it said but the prob still persists, i had
also tried formatting the phone and reinstalling belle but the prob is still there...wat shud i do?

Go to GSM Arena ... Phone Finder .... click on all the network options (2G, 3G & 3.5G ... all bands). Select NFC ... Press Search.
Results are mostly Nokia Phones and C7 proudly stands close to the top of the list. Cheers!!!
(I did this before my purchase and C7 stood out... suiting my budget too)

AnonD-23327, 15 Mar 2012well nfc is still not very important feature its almost same like Bluetooth so u cant compare ... moreI agree with Ashman too..comparing the two a year ago, i chose the c7 over the N8 cos the hardware was the same at a much cheaper price except for the camera which i wasnt too interested in and the size was smaller too..i dont know whether having a bigger ROM than the N8 makes the c7 better, but i quite like my c7 and its relatively slim size, and 'tap and pair' nfc is so easy to use!

I liked the design... slim, sleek, sturdy, easy to hold and carry around. They both have the same hardware. the NFC in C7 sounded intriguing ... I did not know much at that time... but still thought it was futuristic technology. ... and I tell you, it will be very useful in the future if more people use it. Anyway, No Regrets ... I am a happy C7 owner. Cheers!

I thought its there But why its not there because its more costly and higher end pho... moreyeah, of the earlier symbian^3 devices, only c7 has the nfc hardware..it was enabled only after Anna but it was an influence on my decision to buy it over the N8 when it came out even though the N8 has better imaging capability cos i dont use my phone much for photos..
As i write this, i'm listening to music from my c7 through my nfc/Bluetooth enabled BH 505 nokia headphones..nfc will take time to come into widespread use and God knows whether we will still be using the c7 in a few years to come but it is an important feature for the future, one that nokia (and other manufacturers) are incorporating into their new handsets and plans.

AnonD-23327, 14 Mar 2012well even after upgrade to belle c7 cant match 701 because hardware is not same gprs and data ... moreGPRS & 3G speed is subject to the network service. If the service provider does not provide the speed, it may be much slower than what's written in the specs sheet ... which is usually the case. In the majority of the cases (networks), I think C7 should do equally well like the 701 ... just that bit (Data Processing ... internal matter) will be a bit faster in 701 due to more RAM and faster CPU and GPU.

Remember in the initial days of C7 with Symbian^3, ... C7 use to have the NFC chip but it was not activated... only after Anna it got activated and with Belle the integration became a natural and standard feature.

well even after upgrade to belle c7 cant match 701 because hardware is not same gprs and data speed is higher and even camera in c7 is not stable like 701 it needs auto focus.

My friend has N8 and he updated to BELLE directly from symbian 3 not from ANNA. But i noticed that after updating NFC is not there.:) pls help in this regards:-) thanx in advance

Nokia C7 Camera vs Nokia 701 Camera
While most of the stuffs remain the same in both the phones, Nokia 701 is supposed to come with a Second Generation EDoF camera processor. The difference is mostly felt in taking snaps of close-up (macro) objects. The same object (specially text) snapped from the same distance (approx 30 cm) ... produces sharper image in Nokia 701 than in Nokia C7.
Having said that, C7 also has good new updates with Belle. You will notice that it now has Face Tracking too + several other improvements.
