Ray, 25 May 2011I'm planning to buy this Nokia E%. I have read that it sucks and it is not friendly to use. Do... moreif i were you id go with nokia e 5. nokia has been known for it's user friendly interface. compared to blackberry. trust me. ive been working for a telecommunications company for so long and most of the calls that i am receiving are from the blackberry users... such a complicated application... unlike nokia... so easy to use...
elixir, 22 May 2011Hello, how do I improve its camera quality? It's very poor.Don't expect much from nokia e5 camera feature, I bought a canon camera after getting disappointed with the camera feature ;-)
I've moved away from Android. Reason? The Appalling battery life which seems to afflict every Android phone. I've had several Symbian phones in the past. The most recent was the Nokia 5230 before I bought into Android.
Anyway, the E5 is remarkably slim. My wife has the E63. It's significantly slimmer with smooth lines and rounded corners. Wide, it maybe, but it feels deceptively small in pocket.
OK. Symbian is a bit clunky in comparison these days but I was able to get up and running with email, facebook and chat - VERY quickly.
Web browsing on a non-touch screen isn't as easy as a touch screen but if you bought this phone or you're considering this - you know that already.
Battery life is quite simply **stunning**. I've been messing with it constantly to set it up and it still had a full charge in the morning.
Integration with OVI suite good. Although I had to download the seperate updater to get the phone to update its software. Other than this minor hiccup things have run smoothly. Shame there is no way to import my contacts from gmail. An hour of typing for 50 or so contacts sorted this out. I'm thinking there must be a way to do this using the software(?).
Screen is good. Good in bright light also.
Keyboard is brilliant. Excellent touch and feel.
Audio is also very good.
Camera is OK. It's a 5MP fixed focus.
Overall build quality is very good. Phone feels solid.
Summary - Blackberryesque style without the need for Blackberry service contract. Workhorse of a phone. In pocket, smaller than it looks. S/ware is dated - but everybody knows that and it won't be why they'll be buying the phone. Perfectly functional. And a smartphone phone with a decent battery life is marvelous.
