well i have never used a charger than the one which comes in the sales package. i have never used anything outside from the sales package in all my phones except for the 6300 which i had to carry around an extra battery.
with the current charger i'm using, it takes less than 2 hours. but i haven't timed it properly. when i plug in the charger i just glance at the phone a couple of times to check whether it has finished charging. i'll let you know if i get a chance to time it.
The reason I asked is because someone asked my advice and they used the name 'Winura' so I was wondering if it was you. I don't use computer codes to determine who I'm speaking to because I know more than one opinionist can have the same code...especially if they post using a mobile device.
So your are saying you have NEVER posted anything in the 6300 forum other than that reply to 'Sri Lanka Budz' ?
Other than that, have you tried the AC-4 charger to charge your E51 ? It's a rapid charger and for me it's a must with my current phone.
My 6300 came with a AC-3 charger which took 2hr. 30mins. to charge in off mode. I decided to purchase a AC-4 charger which charges the 6300 in 1 hr. 15mins. in off mode.
The E51 is compatible with the AC-4 charger so I'm eager to see how long the AC-4 charger takes to charge the E51.
I know the E51 comes with a AC-5 charger and the difference in charging time may be no different but I'm anxious to find out.
Nokia explicitly describes the AC-4 charger as being a rapid charge while they simply tote the AC-5 charger as being a compatible charger for devices with a 2mm socket.
How long does it take you to charge your phone with the AC-5 charger in off mode and how long does it take you to charge it when the phone is on ?
i have a nokia e51 and i made a lock code on it but i don't remember it so it took to nokia and they told me that it will need a software reinistallation but l don't wan't to reinstall the software because i got the phone a week ago so i caled one of my freinds and he told me how to open the phone by pressing on three bottons at the same time so now i wanted to change the lock code but it needs the old code to make a new one

Is it loud and clear?
Or tinny and crap?
Have you used a mobile with a good hands free speaker
Just to be sure, there was a poster in the 6300 forum quite a while back who asked my advice about the 6300. Was that you or someone impersonating you ?
Have you ever visited the 6300 forum and if so do you remember seeking my advice or even having a conversation with me ?
I got this phone as a replacement for my 6120c which is taken by my wife, i bought for MYR870 (USD261)here is my short review.
The Firmware is
Nokia E51 (14.1)
+big keypad compare to my previous 6120c phone
+larger battery capacity then 6120c
+got 3 extra button (programmable shortcut)
-camera without flash, all picture taken got green noise,
-video recorded with lower frame rate than 6120c,
-no 2nd camera for video call
-music player didn't support Stereo Widening
------all side button are really hard to press, you need to use your fingernail to press it. trust me, you won't be able
to switch On or Off without using both hand, thanks to the very suck side button(1 hand to hold the phone, the other to press the power button)
I can live with the Bad part but the Side button especially the power button really Sucks, because of these reason, I wont
recommend Nokia E51 to those intending to buy this phone.
If you can live without wi-fi, settle for 6120c

Because I check... moreyes i agree with you. but the scenario is true. nokia has released such a notice to the public but unfortunately we don't know where to find it. its not mentioned in the site even. guess we'll have to roll the old fashioned way. CHECK THE LABEL AND BUY. i'm sure you have a reliable seller. (smile)
Jemi, 07 Jul 2008to winura can you plz tell me abt the performance of nokia e51 as a modem? i m going to upgr... morewell to be honest with you i have not and there is no reason for me to use my phone as a modem. but you can use it. one touch access on your pc suit is the easiest way for you to connect to the internet. i have used the phone in a hot spot for browsing for just over 2 hours and the battery had more than 50% of the power left. so in your case i think you can browse non-stop for more than 2 hours guaranteed. but i'm sorry i cant tell the exact time on for how long you can browse in a single charge.
Something is wrong with the 7th / 8th digit country code theory. Because I checked out a Nokia which was made in Brazil and the the 7th & 8th digit was 0 & 1 respectively and according to sources that depicts Finland as the manufacturer.
Same as my 6300, made in Hungary and 7th & 8th code is 0 & 1.
