there are 2 methods to solve your problem.
From the AP settings, set it to broadcast the SSID. Then by using the "search for WLAN networks" in the idle screen of the phone search for your access point and start web browsing. Type in the pre-shared key when asked. That should solve the problem.
After you have it working, if you wish not to broadcast your AP's SSID, you can go back to AP settings and disable SSID broadcast. Then you will also need to update accordingly the automatically created access point in your phone. Settings > Connections > Access points.
1) Change the SSID to some very exotic new name, which is completely different from the previous default name (supplied by the manufacturer). Note that the default SSID had become a known access point (AP) to the phone when the security was disabled. With security enabled, it no longer works.
2) Set up the wireless security to WPA authentication type, TKIP encryption, PKS.
3) Chose a 15 (or more)-character-strong pass phrase and set it up in the wireless router security settings.
4) Have the WLAN assistant of the E51 update the AP list.
5) Once listed as new, unknown SSID, you will be able to set up from the phone WLAN AP, through the OPTIONS tab where you will be prompted for the pass phrase. (Same prompt would NOT work unless SSID of a previously successful, unencrypted AP is changed)
try these methods. i followed the 2nd method personally. hope this will help you.
You can try uninstalling the PC suite and the Nokia drivers for your phone from the control panel. After that reinstall PC suite again and I think the problem may be solved
hi can someone please let me know how can i understand if my E51 is made in finland or china or elsewhere? from imei code perhaps? it is very importand for me to know. thanks
I love the E51. USB problems this week...
After months with no problems, my E51 cannot connect with cable to my laptop. I get a power surge USB error. I can still connect bluetooth, but why did the E51 suddenly fail with USB cable connection. And what can I do to repair? Format my phone? send it in for Service?
I am also the proud owner of a new E51. Although I have a reasonable knowledge of all things digital, I am also a pensioner and have much to learn. I have tried unsucsessfully to establish a WLAN connection with the router at my home. I am reasonably sure that I have done everything according to the book but when trying to connect I get the message "No gateway reply". Furthermore, is the pre shared key required under WLAN Security Settings the key provided by the service provider of the router or is it perhaps the MAC number of the phone?
Can anyone help, perhaps Winura, who is obviously an expert on the phone!
The N81 is not good value for money. as a result some countries don't even sell N81 phones. I admit that its a good looking phone, even i had my eye on it. but comparing to this i didn't feel like paying that extra amount and go for the N81.
if you go for the N81 you get a slightly bigger screen with the secondary cam for video calling and a flasher for the primary cam which is sort of good in a way but for a MULTIMEDIA PHONE with that kind of features like just a normal 2 mega pixel cam do you really think its worth the money you pay?
but keep in mind you're comparing 2 phones which are made for 2 different markets.
is this phone really worth it considering the price of it compared to the n81, or is the n81 a good buy for its price
Is there a way how to limit gallery to scan all folders? It is realy useless when you see all images/icons/sounds from all installed applications from phone...
guys skype BETA is out now for your mobile. try it. I just got in on my device and its brilliant. the E51 is not in the list. Select the N95 instead. NOT N80. enjoy!!!!!!!!!
this is a very,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
gooooooooood phone ,,,
its a good phone and gives a very classic look to your persona,, yet affordable too,
I'm sorry i didn't get you. in the site it says "Latin America" and "North America" so you should have service centers where you live.
I owned these 2 phone 6500 classic and e51. and I agreed totally with Winera's opinions.
The 6500 classic is slimmer than e51 and this is a problem for handling. It can slip easily from your hand when you take it of the belt case. And it heat very fast really fast when you make a conversation with a bluetooth headset connected.and the last problem is the 6500 classic boot very very long. The E51 is a little bit thicker and longer but it represent any problem except for the shut off by itself but it can be easily repaired with a reset code. Actually I use more often the e51.You can decide to set it as you want and you cannot do it with the 6500.In my opinion the e51 is better than the 6500 classic.
you will be able to download it from www(dot)mobango(dot)com or other mobile content downloading sites.
Both these phones are built using high quality material. no doubts about that and they are very solidly built.
but the 6500 classic is not good value for money. the only things it has are a flasher for the camera which the E51 don't have and its a bit slimmer than the E51. thats all. you pay that extra sum of money for the flasher and its design.
well on the other hand the E51 offers you a lot of features for less money. and look at it! anyone would say that its a stonking good phone even by the look of it. read the specs list of the two phones and you will understand what i'm talking about.
also please not that the E51 will be a good upgrade in many ways if you're planning to replace your current phone.
hello all! can anybody tell me where can I get the office editing software?
I have nokia 6500 classic and the battery heats up very quick and it really annoys me when I get burnt ears after phone conversation.
So, could you please advise me if e51 is worth buying compare with my 6500 classic? in terms of both quality and design.
Depending whether to choose the N82 and E51 is totally upon ur needs and choice. N82 is a very good phone with great multimedia capabilities and E51 is a very very good phone too with great business tools for calls, sms, mails, connectivity etc... Both phone is a great choice....
