Sorry guys, this is again Prosenjitz. In the last post I wrongfully omitted the word SAR. My post and request is regarding the comparatively higher SAR LEVEL OF THIS PHONE. Please comment on this issue! With regards,
This is in reference to Marek's post. Truely, higher is an issue with this phone. Though the level is within permissible limit, it is higher than most other popular phones. Dear Winura, Walid, Nokiamia and others, PLEASE COMMENT ON THIS ISSUE. Thanks a lot in advance, with regards, Prosenjitz

can anyone help me on this please
You can transfer contacts and other data from any other Bluetooth enabled phone with the Switch application. to do this do the following:
1. Switch on the bluetooth on the phone from which you want to transfer details. Make sure the phone is discoverable.
2. Go to Menu -> Tools -> Switch on your E51. Select the phone that you have just made discoverable.
3. Say yes to any Security Dialogues on the other phone.
4. Select what you want to transfer on the E51 and go.
you should be done in less than a minute.
I transferred more than 400 contacts and about 200 calendar entries from my 6300 to my new E51 in less than 30 seconds.
Hope this helps - SXM Gal...
I appreciate your response, I am only asking because I have heard so much conflicting advice. It would be great to hear the whole truth ie does this receive emails automatically ? or do you retreive them manually…… what does blackberry enabled mean to me ? I wouldn’t be here asking if the phone shops had staff who knew their stuff, most of the shops I went to didn’t even have a blackberry on hand to show or walk away with if you wanted to walk out with one, it would have to be ordered...
Don't buy the phone if you talk a lot. You will have headaches, beacause the phone's got 1.4W/kg SAR. It's strange ! However you will always have a great reception, even underground (discos, pubs etc.) !
you may read a few pages of this forum. your questions have been answered before.
I'll just give you the bottom line, this phone is blackberry enabled. and this phone has a office document viewer but not an editor. you can download the editing software from a mobile site like www.mobango.com.
i need a phone for my finance business to recieve emails and send and veiw attachments is this better than the Blackberry ? I have been told that the emails have to be manually retreived unlike the blackberry where they supposedly ???? come to your computer and your phone in case you delete an email and can it sync with outlook ? can i edit microsoft documents ?
Thanks for the response HG,
How do I go about getting the VOIP programs such as Fring or Truphone?
i was supposed to have this mobile phone on a plan from globe philippines but the bad thing is that this mobile phone is not available! oh men! i really really want this mobile phone!
To SXM GAL,
I had the same problem with WLAN in my device as well. but after reading a few things about security issues, I decided that there is no way I could accept to connect to WLAN without security encryption.
By trial and error I managed to enable the security settings on the WLAN router AND successfully connect with Nokia E51 only after I did this:
1) Changed the SSID to some very exotic new name, completely different from the previous default name (supplied by the manufacturer). I noticed that the default SSID had become a known access point (AP) to my nokia phone when the security was disabled. With security enabled, it no longer worked.
2) Set up the wireless security to WPA authentication type, TKIP encryption, PKS.
3) Chose a 15 (or more)-character-strong passphrase and set is up in the wireless router security settings.
4) Had the WLAN assistant of my Nokia E51 update the AP list.
5) Once listed as new, unknown SSID, I was able to set up from the phone my WLAN AP, via the OPTIONS tab where I was finally prompted for the passphrase. (Same prompt would NOT work unless SSID of a previously successful, unencrypted AP is changed)
The device resolved the connection which worked fine ever since. Hope this will be helpful to you.
As for your contacts problem, well yes the contacts come as a business card. you just have to save it. it will get saved in the proper place there after. or synchronize all your contacts (hope your other phone is also a Nokia) with outlook after installing your Nokia PC suit. Once you get the contacts synchronized with outlook plug in your E51 and then select synchronize.
if you have any problems with the synchronizing kindly send me an E-mail to

To SXM GAL,
Glad to hear that we've got another member in our exquisite club. Well you have made a small mistake while transferring your contacts from the sim card to the phone. You should've selected 'move original'. But in order to fix this go to your contacts list, options, and from that list you will find 'sim contacts' or 'sim directory'. Select it and the phone will show all the contacts which are saved in your sim. Then again select 'options', mark all, delete. Or go to menu, contacts, delete contacts, delete from sim card, delete all. Its as simple as that. :-) well for easy access to your contact database there is a dedicated key on your keypad. So i don't think you will need another shortcut to access your contact list.
Hope you're enjoying your new phone. What color did you buy? And how much did you pay for it?
