I forget to mention the Battery life on P1i is superb. It last for ever.
Laur007: I owen both phone and carry both phone all the time the Sony P1 and E51. The both phone are great and again depends on what you looking for? The P1 is touch screen and faster to write SMS but is not as easy to use or fast. P1 is more power full than E51 but basicly you can get everything with E51 as you do with P1. P1 give you bigger screen 3MP camera and E51 give 2MP camera. Both have Wi-Fi, and 3G even the 3G on both but 3G on both phone no work in USA. But If I have to make a choice of only keep one of the phoen then it would be E51. Is lighter and faster in use than Sony P1. Both Phones are great phone. You should buy both or see which one interest you more.
people say the battery life is superb, for me it barely lasted a day with 10 minutes of talking and 20 minutes of wifi, so what could cause such a big difference?
which you will choose Sony-E P1 or Nokia E51 ? I need to help me for I want to take a decision !
after 3days of usage.e51 is a dam sexy phone superb battery life.fast wifi.cool functions such as a msg reader.yes it reads the msg though the accent is horrid.severely complex operating system. Cmon nokia at least provide us with some free games. The phone is pratically empty!no pics few tones. Gd camera could have do ne better with a flash though. Bad music player doesnt detect some songs i installed. The speaker is decent so are the headphones but if ur a music lver go for a sony eric. But the e51 wins hands down when it comes to its display due to the 16m colour display compared to thn 262k or 65k display of other phones. Trust me u will be able to notice that the display is real gd though the operating system is highly complex.
You mean E51 Sound Quality is not as good as 6233 has? Or can it be same as 6233?
Are the earpiece and handsfree speaker volume any good (clear & loud)? Just sold my E61 (mono) and 6233 (stereo): both had the best speakers ever.
can anyone tell if this phone can record sound or conversations lasting more than 1 minute, like a business meeting? Thks
Regarding editing of Office documents. Yes it is posible. Quote "...The purpose of this document is to guide you in using the Quickoffice application on your Nokia phone.
Quickoffice allows you to view and edit Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and text files on your phone. It is assumed that you already know how to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint applications on your PC computer and how to transfer files from your device to a PC computer and vice versa.
Nokia device is delivered with Quickoffice version 3.8. To view version information, select ...."
This phone got launched a few days back in Mumbai and costs around 14,700/-
More details after i buy it tomorrow.
Can we able to edit office documents in Nokia E51? Please respond on this..
Sucks. Blackberry email is much better. Font very small. Mail for exchange does not work as well as blackberry. No GPS
ok, i see a lot of people are considering buying this phone but are a little lost since there hasn't been a site review. Consider this a mini-review; I have been using the phone for 5 days now.
1- Battery life: AMAZING. 5 days now with regular use wifi, many calls, FM radio for 2-3 hours a day, need for speed and pro evolution soccer 2008 and writing emails. I charged the phone once on day 1 and again on day 4 now its day 5 and my battery is full except for one bar.
2- Music: 2.5 mm headphones only. If you aren't a huge fan of loud music, the nokia headset provided will be enough. If superior sound quality is important to you, go with a 3.5 mm adapter, use decent headphones and you will see that the sound quality if actually pretty good.
3- Camera: By today's standards it sucks. If you need a good quality camera DO NOT buy this phone. I like to have a camera in my phone but while 2mp is absolutley fine for me, I know that for many others it is unacceptable.
4- WLAN: Works brilliantly. Just as sensitive as the wifi card on my laptop with the capability to detect pretty weak networks. Web browsing is excellent especially when in landscape mode. I keep font size at the smallest and because of the good resolution it still looks very clear to me. Overall, web browsing on this phone is much better than what I expected.
5- Performance: Hands down, the fastest phone I have ever used. I experimented and ran a football game while listening to FM radio and surfing the internet. I felt no lag whatsoever, even when I switched to the game and left everything else open it ran smoothly. This phone is very efficient.
6- Screen: Incredibly clear, games run very well on it. Should have been at least 0.2 inches longer since there is a lot of wasted place around the screen but we know that if nokia did that they would have priced this phone much higher.
7- Keypad: Excellent for sms, surfing and games. Only problem is that the top two keys on the left and the right are way too small and a pain to press but due to the presence of shortcut keys and the comfortable D-pad, I don't have to use them much.
This phone cost me the equivalent of 219 Euros or 326 US Dollars and came with a 512 mb microsd card. Honestly, for that amount of money, I can't think of a better alternative to this phone.
