Here is a testimonial I left over at the E52 forum as well as Nokia discussion forum on Nokia's site.
The ONLY reason why N-Series cost more is because of the camera optics, mainly.
I read a post on Nokia discussion forum and somebody with an N82 said he wanted to print something from his phone and couldn't print. The print feature is a gimmick in N82. It works flawlessly in E-series and the print drivers are built in the firmware just as how VOIP is built into E-series firmware.
The person said when he called Nokia customer care in regards to his N82, their reply was "You should have bought a bussiness machine, this is just a toy".
If you compare both E & N series thoroughly you will see that E-series has more features.
N-Series focuses mainly on imaging
E-Series focuses mainly on features.
As I said to that poster with his N82:
The reason why the E51 is able to print flawlessly is because it has a printing subsystem...which is exclusive to the E-Series. The N-Series may cost more but that's mainly because of the optics used in the cameras etc.
The feature set of the E-Series is MORE advanced than N-Series as connectivity, communications, functionality and every possible way of getting things done is the main focus of E-Series devices.
For the record I have a E51 and after experiencing the excellent build quality with a metal grip, there's no way I can go to a plastic N-Series.
The N-Series may cost more but that doesn't mean it's better than E-Series. Each of them are supposedly better in the department they mainly focus on...for N-Series it's camera, for E-Series it's features.
Please read this document, scroll close to the end where you see the heading 'DEVICES' and see what is said about Symbian printing:
So many people complain about the rubber buttons. All my buttons are fairly easy to press.
Where the power button is concerned, it needs to be pressed more to the right. My buttons don't have a cheap feel.
The camera is ok, I have taken night shots with it and they came out clear. I can show you people examples if you like...especially those who are considering purchasing this phone.
The E51's night mode is better than the E71's night mode.
I had a E71 playing around with and when I decided to forget the flash and use the night mode instead...I realised the E51's night mode was miles ahead.
The E51 and E71 were the most hyped E-Series for 2008 and based on my personal tests the E51 won in several departments.
That's why I rate my E51.
I don't overhype things. If something is crap I say it's crap. If it deserves credit, it will get my credit.
Who wants to focus on camera more than anything else then get a thick plastic N-Series because it supposedly have better camera optics.
Who wants the best built quality, slim, pocket friendly, durable sturdy metal and comfortable feel get a E-Series.
For me the E51 serves all my needs.
Its been a yr since i bought this fone. I don't have that kind of good exp while using this phone. IT looked worth when I bought it , looking at the features . But I am quite irritated with the buttons provided for s/w off and volume .They are kind of very cheap quality and very clumsy to use. You have to apply loads of power to use those, that could lead to damage to the cover of these buttons. Second thing is , battery , its not worth while . After one year , I am facing battery pbm , gets down in a days after full charge. Third is its maintainance is much expensive as its spare parts of NOKIa are so much expensive that before repairing, we starts thinking to put some money and buy new cell.
I would say dont jump the gun to this phone cause it depends what your looking 4 on a phone?
If original jamaican has this way he would have everyone using a nokia e51.

No need to do that RUMI. It worked quite fine when I turned it back on.
That's the very same code I used to format it prior to the error message anyway (smile).

I just got a scary message from my E51.
It was on and working fine as usual but I decided to format it so I can free up some internal memory...not that I was low on memory I just like it to be perfect having as much memory as possible.
After it was formatted and it restarted, as soon as the country selection part came up I got an error message saying 'phone failed to start-contact retailer'. This is the very first time I'm seeing a message like this.
What I have done is to take out the battery, SIM and memory card and have decided to leave it out for an hour to fully reset.

Still awaiting a response regarding changing the snooze time on the alarm. Can it be changed from 5 minutes to 10 or 15 minutes by downloading something? Also can you download a timer and if so from which site?
Hai, need your inputs. If I'm using this phone as my laptop modem, would it be the problem to the phone itself related to the electronic equipments and battery?
