The only time overcharging affects the battery is when you leave it plugged in for MORE than a week. I have seen that in many Nokia manuals.

To whom it may concern,
Good day! i got order this phone last March 17 and i received it last March 24 so i have 22 days of using it. I have so much problem with this phone but some of them i just ignore it. like the battery is full but when i sleep at night its already 3 bars. I turn off the WLAN and bluetooth so it should be ok. But ill just ignore it. But now i experienced the worst problem and decided to return it. First 2 weeks of using the phone is ok. But now, it suddenly turn off even if its full battery. It happened twice. i charged the phone the other night. Last night the phone is still full, but when i wake up its not working anymore. What are the rules in returning this phone? thanks so much.

The Chinese made phones use different raw materials and are assembled by a culture that does not understand quality control as well as Finland does.
Sucks that yours had a problem but you DO have a better chance at getting a good phone by buying Finnish over Chinese.
I like the phone very much, but i dont know whether should i buy it or not!
Are there any newer models of e52 that works ok, or not?

renz, 07 Apr 2010perhaps your e52 is fake!.try to buy e52-1 made in finland and it will not give you any problem.Wrong - my E52 is made in Finland, purchased from the UK and it has had serious power issues after only a month of use. There was nothing I could do about it as I was out of my home country and nothing I can do about it until I get back in 2 months time. Luckily it will still be within the 12 months warranty.
It is definitely the phone as I have tried new batteries, chargers and updated the firmware and still I have the same problem - refuses to charge, doesn't recognise the charger is plugged in, goes dead completely during charging - I could go on. Everytime, I have to keep removing the battery, putting it back in and then try charging again. After around half an hour of this infuriating ritual, it eventually charges.
It's also the last Nokia I will ever purchase as the problem has been so infuriating and Nokia is a global company that, for some ret4arded reason, does not have worldwide warranties...
I'm not saying don't buy this phone, because when it works, it is good. But there is nothing special or more reliable about the Finnish-made E52's...
Am seeking a help, am using E52 since March 2010 onwwards, in those days the display and from one window to another will go smoothly same as other Nokia mobiles, but recently the sliding from one window to others seems changed and i dont feel comfort with the same...anyone can help me to restore the same...
