This idea that Nokia would deliberately release a prototype or test batch is stupid. Companies are in business for one reason...to make money. Flooding the market with a bunch of defective or unfinished devices is going to COST you money in lost sales.
I find the s60 interface clunky and too complicated for simple tasks but the hardware is great. People are complaining about things that often are not the phone's fault like bad voice quality...as I said below that is usually the network not the phone. You also cannot expect a tiny phone with a ton of features to work as well as a dedicated GPS or camera for example. The majority of the posters here sound like kids or people with no idea what is realistic in a phone. If you leave all the apps open and don't use common sense of course the thing will crash...just as any "computer" will.
Anonymous, 17 Jan 2010everything the best for this phone , just one problem ...it is not for talking, the conversati... moreFor me the voice quality is great. That is usually a function of your network not your phone.
Basing on the user comments, there are a lot of software issues with the first batches of the E52.
This will be fixed in the coming months.
Buying now is your won risk.
But this phone is GREAT on PAPER.
Just look at the battery life.
And the 3.5 mm jack.
And the metallic body and slim build.
I loved the specs.
But reality is different when the phone is actually used by the customers.
You can't put a good phone down.
Let's hope this is the same with the E52.
For which I have very high hopes.
From "Bangladesh" with joy!!!
I also think this can be a good phone. although all phones has some defects. like 5310 which the ring tone is really low and you cannot hear it easily. I don't have E52, I want to buy, think its fairly good if its not excelent ;)
everything the best for this phone , just one problem ...it is not for talking, the conversation is very bad
Cyrus, 17 Jan 2010I agree - Wisdom, when you post stuff you can't just make it up.
Nokia have software proble... moreWisdom keeps repeating this "fact" over and over. We get it already.
He is probably some Bangladeshi teenager who has never even held an E52.
I agree - Wisdom, when you post stuff you can't just make it up.
Nokia have software problems with the phone but it is not a planned thing nor are they making guinea pigs out of their customers.
Are you making this upor do you really believe what you are saying?
Pfff... this phone may have some software issues but it is not because Nokia deliverately released it that way.
Think of what you are posting - don't just make it up.
Willi, 17 Jan 2010Guys, I'm in Bandung, Indonesia, and I'm considering to change my-exhausted-E51 with E52. But,... moreThat is a difficult question.
And very risky if you happen to buy the DEFECTIVE batch.
More patience is needed.
Wait a few more months and hang on to your sturdy E51.
Francisco, 16 Jan 2010Guys seems like i cannot play MP3 song on my E52 can somebody guide me on this. Can i play MP3... moreit can be played.. whether mp3 or wma format, just restart your phone and refresh the library and it will play :D
Guys, I'm in Bandung, Indonesia, and I'm considering to change my-exhausted-E51 with E52. But, couple of questions arise:
1. As @wisdom pointed out, is the latest version already free of software bugs (maybe, a new firmware has been installed)?
2. If so, how can I differ between old stocks (with bugs), and the new-already-free-of-bug version?
Thanks all in advance!
Guys seems like i cannot play MP3 song on my E52 can somebody guide me on this. Can i play MP3 songs on my E52 the latest version. I brought a new phone on 15 Jan 2010. Please help me out
Johnny, 15 Jan 2010I have the same problem with the speakerphone, it is useless what a shame. Today, charging gav... moreif u switched mode from say "mass storage" to "PC Suite" when USB cable is connected, it may stop charging due to the switch mode that logically disconnected the cable (hence the port, and power to the port). in this case, it won't charge, it's not the fault of the phone nor the user, it's just how it is designed.
I am planning to get my hand on this phone but I noticed it doesnt have IM feature. Can anyone advise whether I can use one IM (say yahoo) all day and how it would affect the battery performance.
Thanks in advance
Anonymous, 15 Jan 2010don't save your messages on your memory card. save them on your phone its better and your mess... moreThanks for the tip and thanks for replying.
I know the messaging will work faster but I was more concerned about memory especially with e-mails.
I have learnt the hard way. I will stick the phone memory as of now.
Im new to my e52..how can i view the battery life in standby mode??the one that looks like a screen saver..how can i set it up??thanx
The problems with the E52 are present in the EARLY UNITS. If you are so eager to be the first to buy, then you will be part of the guinea pig users. This is expected of any Nokia smartphone. First models out have the problems. Best advice: WAIT FOR 6 MONTHS TO ONE YEAR BEFORE BUYING, TO GET THE STABLE UNITS WITH STABLE FIRMWARE. And you save money too, nothing depreciates (loses monetary value) FASTER than a cellphone.
