merry christmas and happy new year in advance, i think that a good replacement for the e51 is the new 6720 classic.
the material is great as in te e51.
its a smart phone with a sries 60 symbian.
3.5 mm jack.
5 mp camera
keypad is ok, a bit tiny but you can get used to it.
the most important, the earpiece of the 6720 is very great, very loud and clear.
hope my opinion was helpful, hav a nice day.
I think that nokia e52 is great.i'm using it for already 2 months and it works perfectly.i find it one of the coolest e-series ever made..........
Has anyone else had trouble downloading the 022.009 software update?
I have tried *#0000# and followed the prompts - only to go through check update > connect to internet >connecting > receiving data from Nokia > no updates available.
No updates available? I have 021.013 so I know there are updates available.
2nd attempt was via the nokia website to download to my PC. Did this, installed the software on my PC, then it would not open due to configuration issues. I followed all of the Help suggestions to configure my ports, deactivate my firewall, etc, but still the application won't open/work.
So annoyed. Any suggestions?
whats the deference between e52 and e71 's symbian for e71 or e72 it is said symbian serie 60 ver9.4 but for e52 its said only symbian serie 60...

personally for me e 51 is good and e 52 is also good, you just need to change your view, than you will start loving even e 52.
guys e 51 is bad for your health.......just think for yourself which is important your health or durability of a mobile with high radiation........
I have E52 since more than two weeks.
It seems that the aluminum color ring around the phone has to be metal (an kind a aluminum alloy).
In my phone, this ring is quite loose, and does not seems at all as metal, but just as plastic (I do have Nokia 6120c and there the ring is metalic).
Can anyone of you comment about this?
Origional jamican - thanks really appreciate it.. i was thinking about the e66 slide, or the 6700.

I will look and try to find a suitable replacement for you though.
hi i got this phone today having been using e51 for past 14 months (which i think is a fantastic phone), to be honest i do not like this phone it is probably ok if you have not used a e51, but when you from the e51 to e52 it does just not seem as responsive, and the top keys are not raised so therefore not as nice to use, and the d-pad is not nice at all to use. the camera is excellent though. screen is good as well.
text input is just not as nice as the e51.
think i will be sending it back, just is not worth the money. for me it is all about the keypad and the general feel.
if anyone has any suggestions on a suitable replacement for the e51 please tell.
im planning to take e52
..is there any good "e" series cell frm nokia

Can you do me a favour please ? The next time your E52 battery runs out completely until the phone shuts off...leave it in OFF MODE and charge it, time it and then tell me exactly how long it takes to charge.

Tomorrow I'll post links to pictures of my bathroom taken with 6300 and E52. :D
Although I will try to take pics in the same lighting condition as was during photographing with 6300, I think this should be enough good comparison between the two cameras.

(I'm using a big screen car GPS which has far better antenna, so on E52 GPS is kinda satisfying performance) Sometimes it finds satellites pretty quick - around 3 mins, and sometimes it can happen that it cannot find them for 20 minutes.
Therefore I suggest you let GPS track down satellite signal with help of internet/network, then switch the feature off, and then use it. I haven't encountered any problems with the onboard GPS so far.
iggyone, 25 Nov 2009I tried cameras on 6300 & 5610. Had E51 & now owner of E52.

Thank you very much for your input.
The 6300's cam was the very best I have ever seen...based on the phones I have had.
With you saying the E52's camera is much better...this inspires me to get the E52 even more now.
Thank you once again.

You seems to write like a Nokia E52 design team member.
As for phone calls: my phone calls are not stable. Sometimes the calls are dropped, even in the areas where the signal is strong. This is not acceptable even for a 50$ phone.
Nokia has made very good phones (I am so impressed by my Nokia 6120 classic), and will do. But E52 is a failure that costs a lot.
