trf, 15 Oct 2009well this is strange.
I just did a phone call from my e52 just a while ago.
I asked the ... moreExactly same versions as you trf, but one; I have language set 18.01. "Made by Nokia", by the way... does that mean Chinese?
Only problem I have several months is that caller have issues hearing me after a few minutes... I move around a bit, and then the caller can hear me again. This happens with both in- and out going calls. I have actually gotten the exact same comment "sounds like you're in a tunnell".
I have to admit that I might have felt something like a small sting a couple of times by my ear... when thinking back, I thought it was a piece of hair getting stuck or something... sort of like a stinging feeling.... but now when reading the previous comments, yes, it could very well be a small electric shock >:-o
Have there been words or rumors that any region has received a firmware update yet?
If your phone restarts a lot, STOP complaining on the internet, just take it back and the seller will have it fixed or replaced. I'm not saying it is normal, what is happening with the E52, but Nokia understands it's hardware problem and it replaces the faulty ones.
well this is strange.
I just did a phone call from my e52 just a while ago.
I asked the one answering my call if he can hear me, he said I was okay.
I asked if it was loud, said it was.
asked also if he can clearly hear me and he said it was clear.
the bottom of the phone was 4 inches from my mouth and I couldn't feel any electric shock.
We really need to get to the bottom of this.
Hardware or Software Issue... very strange.
In my opinion, I still think it's the firmware.

trf was right! apple iphone is not 'rock' as 'anonymous' think, iphone is suck!!!
Anonymous, 15 Oct 2009Apple iPhone rocks !
Go on with ur faulty Nokia E52s !!! hahahahahaha !!!! yup. you're right there, Apple iPhone is a "rock". next to useless as a phone.
Sound is too low.
No haptic feedback when pressing the virtual keys.
You have to recharge it like 2-3 times a day.
Screen scratches so easily, case scratches with just your fingernail.
It's more sensitive than a girl. sheesh.
Super high maintenance...
Oh and yes, we have an Apple iPhone, iPod Classic and iPod Touch.
(We also have the Mac mini, Macbook and Macbook Pro just so you know. Nice to look at, but not very useful.)
The iPod is a very nice entertainment device.
but iPhone = fail.
It's nice the first month or so, but soon after, it's annoying as hell as a phone.
Oh and you can buy 3-5 decent phones of any brand with the price on that sucker too.
sekundes @_@, 14 Oct 2009if you guys are having second thoughts on this then there are other alternative handsets to ch... more"the latest FW so far is v12" - What do you mean? My phone says software version 021.013, version date July 3, 2009, Type: RM-469.
Maybe we could start comparing the above numbers to see where the various problems are? I have not experienced the phone shutting down or re-starting, or freezing. The only problems I have is the quality of the sound for the person I talk to (exactly like "jack" describes.... a couple of minutes in to every call), and YES, sometimes I feel something like a small electro shock while I am talking and have the pohone close to my ear!
Apple iPhone rocks !
Go on with ur faulty Nokia E52s !!! hahahahahaha !!!!
despite all the problems reported here (some users report of no problems!) the mobile is still rated quite high. GSM Arena has given this cell very high scores. I guess it is the users faults that result in crashes and hangs. I think people should use their phones more carefully and wait for a firmware upgrade.
I don't have this cell, but have been looking forward to getting one soon... with the problems reported, I guess I will have to wait longer.
wanttobuy, 13 Oct 2009does this phone perform that bad?? hard to find a positive comment for this product. actually ... moreDont!
even if the phone reaches your expectations...
their will go something going wrong ! and then you are dependend of the nokia service... and that is realy below standard!
just try to get hold of them, just in contact with a real person! then you know.. it is definitly worth NOT-buying a nokia!
vox serbia, 14 Oct 2009very bad phone, I have one, made in finland for one month and every day restarting, blocking, ... moreMaybe you can try your luck with e71.
e72 basically has the same issues with this baby.
Anyway, for all of you experiencing problems with the phone:
What exactly were you doing with it before it died?
Did you run too many apps at once?
Did you have have the sensors on?
Were you using the camera and moving it too fast?
Did you upload too many emails to it?(check your real mail inbox people)?
Did you play with the Gallery a lot?
I think we can better resolve issues if we can collect as much data on how we used the phone before it died.
Using a much more basic phone means less moving parts, less software on it meaning less likely to break.
You have to be more gentle in using smartphones, they tend to be a bit sensitive when handled too hard(usage).
very bad phone, I have one, made in finland for one month and every day restarting, blocking, some times I cant turn one after switching off him self, there is not yet a new software for him, the first one is very bad with so much mistakes, I hope that NOKIA will release a new one. if they dont I must bay again a E71 or maybe e72 when he come...
Its true, this phone is a a real crab. Mine have all the unthinkable defects. I threw it away and picked my
daughter`s old old phone, am back to the basics, I want to live in peace and not pass my life running
behind a multi-millionaire company which (take) my money and unable to offer me a decent product.
Its really SAD.
anyone from uae having problems with e 52 like hanging, restarting?????????????
There's finally a gold e52. ^_^
Surprisingly, it looks kinda weathered.
Must be because it's a demo.
Tomal, 13 Oct 2009My E52 has been working perfectly fine. Why there is so many -ve reviews here? :S
Maybe you... moreTo TOMAL:
MOST of the people who complain about their E52 says theirs was made in either Finland or Korea.
I have had the phone for 5 weeks now, and no problems with restart, locking, and so on. BUT, I have a BIG problem with call quality! I can hear people perfectly on my end, but if I am on a call for more than 2-3 minutes EVERY person I talk with will lose MY voice... they say it is like I am talking in a tunnel (when I am sitting in my office)... they even say that my voice all out disappears!!! This is REALLY bad... I am holding the phone correctly almost horizontally to my mouth and reception signal si 100%... BAD BAD BAD!!!
Now, lastly, is it just my own imagination, or do others feel like they get a small electrical shock from the phone while talking??? Nothing really big, but certainly something that I can feel! Anyone else?
This phone is perfect...
The keypad are too soft guyss just enjoying a lot to type...
Camera sumhow is good...
Its slim which i like it in that...
Net browsing is too fast...
Little beat of sound disapoint me...
Just buy this phone guys...
Nokia's best cell phone... just buy it...
Well if the entire board is changed (with new IMEI) then certainly a batch of Nokia E52 must have been faulty.
I dont know why these days Nokia is getting cheap. :| Every model of theirs is having issues. Even N97 has problem where lens get scratched. I am now worried abt my E52. So far it is going fine. But judging from the number of negative comments, I am now in tension.
