Have had my E52 for only a few days, so I know it might be premature to comment, BUT...This is BY FAR the best phone that I have owned so far and I have had a bunch of them. It is not the sort of phone that can be dropped etc, but it is designed for speed and style and Nokia have down a sterling job. Love it!!! Only problem is why a 1 gig card. Should be packed with at least a 4 gig. 1 gig is too small for a phone with so many features. Off to buy a 16 gig card now.
yesterday I contacted Nokia Care again and asked about e52 and they said that Nokia did not reported issues to them. They asked me to install application Energy Profiler to measure power requirement. After that, my phone freezes again and turns its off. Now I need to send the phone back to service, second time, and I have the phone for 10 days. The phone itself works fine until it works.
Is there any Good Antivirus software site available for the E 52-1
Is it free or trial version???
4th Day today
Not a single crash, not a single hardware failure. All those who say the handset sucks don't even have the handset I think, or are Sony Ericsson moles planted on forums to discourage nokia buyers
Had an E51 before and this is what I see
+ Bigger brighter screen
+ Many times faster
+ Better T9
+ Better intuitive call dialing
+ Better browser with flash support
+ AGPS (Sometimes takes upto 4-5 minutes to sync)
+ After 4 days of usage, only 2 bars gone from the battery indicator (Heavy usage, experimenting)
+ Better camera/flash
+ Better buttons on the side and top
+ 3.5mm jack
+ Better gallery
+ Better email client
- Low phone memory (flash)
This is the inly drawback I found till now. After a clean software install, free phone memory is only around 25M. After you install n-gage, it drops to 12M, which I think is on the lower side (You cannot install N-Gage to memory card)
And all those people who say " it seems that more than 50% of these phones have been returned to nokia" go get a life. Does nokia send you internal company data just so that you can spread the word around and discourage people?

chilly, 27 Sep 2009well, I bought E52 2 weeks ago (made in Finland) and send it back to Nokia Care 3 days after... moreCould you tell me which version. I found no new version available for E52 software.
Anonymous, 28 Sep 2009what is wrong with u guys, maybe it is 'YOUR' phone sucks and 'YOUR' phone is faulty and pleas... moreI second that! I have a small IT company and last month I replaced my staffs Blackberries with the E52... 12 phones. Not one problem with any of them... just over 4 weeks now.
what is wrong with u guys, maybe it is 'YOUR' phone sucks and 'YOUR' phone is faulty and please don't use the word 'BEWARE'this and that....you're making me SICK!
My e52-1 is the best phone i've ever owned, working fine since day 1...like what i've said ...don't blame e52..it's just YOU and 'YOUR' handset is the one having problem.
please read my comments further down this page alex, beware as this nokia has serious issues, its a very good phone spec wise but nokia need to sort the crashing sofware/firmware issue, my e52 is almost useless day to day as it switches self off all the time every couple hours, it freezes during calls and resets itself. anyway read my full opinion below as if these faults are addressed it could be one of nokias best e series to date, it seems that more than 50% of these phones have been returned to nokia, i just hope that the software/firmware engineers/programmers are working day & night to get us a update firmware asap as all money spent so far seems to be wasted!!
This is a great phone going by the specifications. I've owned Nokia 3100,6020,3110c,5320xp music. So far I've never had any problem .I'm planning to buy Nokia E52, but the user opinions are so discouraging. I think Nokia should respond to this complains so as to clear the air.
I'm tired of hearing the complaints but I thank all the complainants because they are letting other potential buyers be aware.
The only thing I would like to know now is ALL those people who said they never had any problems with their E52, are they still trouble free ?
This goes for people who posted much earlier, people who have their E52 for a month, two months or three months.
I would say a month is enough time to test the reliability of a phone, not 1 week or 2 weeks.
So please, anybody who haven't had a problem with their E52 after 1 month of usage or more, please report letting us know and also tell us where it was manufactured. Thank you all in advance.

woop., 27 Sep 2009how come there's a blinking message icon at the top right side of my phone? Hi Woop,
Try to delete the msgs on your sim card.
Just got the phone yesterday, and it is great. "Made by Nokia" version... screen clear and bright, bluetooth and wifi excellent, but speakerphone volume very low. No problems what-so-ever apart from that. The Nokia Messaging works perfect too! One thing though: in the image gallery there are what seems like color palette images in various grey and black tones and when in the image carousell they are animated changing colors and shapes. I dont want them, but can't delete them (get error message "cant delete for security reasons"). Why are they there? I guess they must belong to the backgrounds or something as they cannot be deleted, or? Anyone else have them too? Anyone know how to delete or move or hide them?
well, I bought E52 2 weeks ago (made in Finland) and send it back to Nokia Care 3 days after because of restarting problem. now I received it back and they wrote to me that everything is ok , but they made a software upgrade. Afterwards phone is not restarting any more. Now it freezes every 2 hours and few seconds after it turns off. Now I need to send it back again. I hope that this is a software issiue. For now I don't recommend to buy this phone. It is my tenth Nokia but it is the worst one I ever had.
how come there's a blinking message icon at the top right side of my phone?
