Where was your E52 manufactured and if you still have access to the IMEI (maybe you noted it somewhere for safe keeping etc.), can you tell me the 7th and 8th digits ?
Hi Friends, after using E52 for 1 month and now using E71 for few days, these are a few pros and cons
Ergonomics of keypad, E52 wins with best T9 dictionary. But Qwerty on E71 is amazing. Depends on user preference.
Built Quality of E71 is far better than E52 though E52 also has a good built.
E52 is slim and light weight mobile whereas E71 is slightly on a bulkier side.
E52 software is a great improvement in S60V3 with feature pack 2. E71 lacks it unless if any update is released.
Price of E71 in Indonesia is still very high. Its USD 385 whereas worldwide its selling at USD 290 to USD 340.
Processor of E52 is a major improvement. It runs even bitrate mp4 files smoothly, whereas E71 cant run mp4 with high bitrate and even low bitrate mp4 files on E71 gives chopping efect.
The battery on E52 lasts for 10 days with average usage whereas E71 takes a last breath of battery life at the end of 4th day.
E52 takes good pictures but when it comes to taking sharp focus pictures of small text or documents, E71 wins due to Auto focus availability.
E52 have a 3,5mm audio jack which allows you to enjoy music with high quality headphones. E71 have 2,5mm jack and you need a extra adopter to use 3,5mm headphones.
E71 has a wide screen which allows you to view internet pages and videos nicely. E52 you have to use accelerometer function and sometimes there is a time lag till the pages sets themselves. Videos on E52 automatically runs on wide screen.
Gallery on E71 somehow is better than E52.
E71 have better sound through speaker. E52 somehow tends to remain on softer volume and effects.
Vibration on E71 is stronger and you hardly miss the call whereas on E52 due to slim size sometimes you miss the call as low vibration and softer sound quality.
Call quality on E71 is better as it catches signal even in low frequency zones. E52 in this area still needs an improvement.
Screen quality and saturation of colours on E52 is a bit too loud but E71 gives a genuine colour saturation.
Hope this will help a bit to those who are still wondering if E52 is worth buying.
Will talk to you soon.
You said you had tried the normal phone operations and it went well. I am just particularly curious about making voice calls. Did it not ever occur to you any difficulty making calls in a relatively noisy environment like inside the malls or strolling on a busy thoroughfare?
My concern is just simple and that this mobile phone should work even at its very basic function - which is to make voice calls - audible and easily comprehensable.
oh and peeps, let's not start a holy war over here. hehe
I'm just comparing the stuff we have at a detailed level.
based from experience and availability...

I'll try to answer that cuz the first things I tried were the camera and gallery, before it's untimely death that is. hehe
we have the e71, e51, 5800 and the humble 1680 classic and out of them the fastest was e52.
we benchmark our tools a lot so we're very meticulous about speed and performance.
the accelerometer was pretty fast also compared to iPhone 3G or ipod touch. we have them too.
it was fast. I'll get my replacement this Wednesday since Nokia is still processing my replacement.
It was made in Korea and yes, the speed is noticeable.
I went from app to app and it was pretty snappy.
guess it're really a lucky draw, cuz although mine was pretty fast I got a dud one.
really hope I get a good build and fast performing unit. =)

Do you find the processing speed to be slow in comparison to previous E- Series ?
Do you find navigation to be slow especially in the gallery when browsing through photos ?
Bought it in 12/08/09, and it's totally lousy phone. First, its not any faster compare to E71. Second, the gallery is so slow even when scrolling the image the phone will freeze. And the most dissapointing is: when i am in the noisy environment, people that i called can't hear my voice. I'm from indonesia, and there is no refund or even exchange policy when you buy the phone. Even buying from authorized dealer. Great, so i end with a piece of junk. Thanks nokia, you're makin my day!
just got my E52 this week. so far so good, battery last for about 4 days for thr first initial charge. casing is ok specially the battery cover.
ill use it for now and post my reviews after a month
I was gonna get this.
but i had second thoughts.. cause it's kinda overpriced.

2. Junrex Cellphones & Accesories
3. RC Goldline
4. S N' E Wireless
5. Virlac Cellstop
6. Telco King
7. Nokia Flagship Store
I have been searching from these stores since based on experiences, Aerophone, Junrex and Nokia Flagship Store usually get the earliest shipments of NTC-approved handsets. Still, the Maze sometimes get them the earliest but most of the times, it's Aerophone so I forgot to visit Maze.
Furthermore, I want to add something. In behalf of some phone buyers from Cebu, be careful about Maze. Although the Maze (Ayala Branch) sell only brand new sets, sometimes the handsets they sell don't have NTC-Type approval(usually those that have the "Made by Nokia" label).
Not that they aren't credible in any way but my cousin have bought a Nokia 2630 from them that doesn't come with an NTC-Type approval. And Nokia Care Philippines won't provide their services on such handsets so be careful about Maze. But if you are a wise buyer, you can still buy a handset from them that comes with NTC-type approval and 1 year Nokia Care warranty. Just look for the blue Nokia Care sticker of the handset box.
E52 availble already at Nokia Mall of Asia and Memo Express MOA at Php 18,500.00; 12 months 0% interest.

Here is a quote from an earlier post here. "In Ayala Cebu PH, there's one shop in The Maze that's selling the phone for PHP15,890 cash / PHP16,690 credit. Metal Grey Aluminium only." - it was posted aug 18.
Have you noticed how hot does the charger adapter gets? I'm using my old E51 charger with the adapter from the E52 box and i can say it is burning hot... you can keep your coffee warm with it (smile)
BTW i'm using it for 2 weeks no problems with it
To Original_Jamaican: it takes longer than the E51 to charge about 2hrs it the battery lasts for about 5 days (wi-fi, some gps, calls, texting) normal use
