Just bought the E52 worked for about a week and then
went dead. Guys at Nokia say the software has to be
reloaded. Can anyone let me know why a brand new E52
simly goes dead within a week.

That might be causing the problem.
I am having a major problem with this phone, in that when I am outside, it is very difficult for people to hear me when I am talking, they say I keep cutting off...I am pretty sure its because of the 2 mic noise cancellation thing the phone has...
its got to the point where just having a conversation on the phone is a problem...will I be able to return it from the retailer? as it may be a 'feature' of the phone, so not exactly 'faulty', but its not fit for its main purpose..making calls!
Really sucks though, as EVERYTHING else about the phone is superb!
U seems to give a positive comments on this item,
may i know the manufacturer of ur handset, is it finland?
i want to buy this hanset but i'm scared of negative comments by other user, could u help me what is the things that i need to review to get the same item as yours which have no problem in specifications.

You raised a sensible point there...one that should not be overlooked.
However, and surprisingly...most editorial reviewers seem to be amazed at how the E52 have such a powerful 600MHZ processor and still able to maintain a very long battery life on a single charge. It's all about technology.
TRF, who knows, maybe the heat is dissipated through some technological means.

I live and work in Jamaica, the island, the country one of the most unique places on earth.
I will give an indepth review of E52 once I have it in my hands. From the battery to the screen to the ringing...I will test it all.
Be patient my friends. I will get this phone soon enough.
In the meantime I'm still enjoying my E51.

nice posting about mobile review. I was checking its home page frm many days bt cud... moreI guess Mobile-Review shouldn't be blamed for the wrong grammar but rather, it should be Google Translate. But still it's better than none, regardless of the issues with auto-translation.
So again, I am requesting everyone interested to send an email to Mobile-Review that would request them to formally make the E52 review available in the English version of their site.
MOBILEPLANET, 05 Sep 2009which coloure is da best ????????????it depends. if you like silver go with silver if black go with black.
some are having problems with the silver one because the keys are not legible in certain lighting conditions.
right now it's only silver and gold but there will be a black one if you can wait.
I like the silver though since I'm familiar with the character placements.
I don't have to look at the keys much to type.

my theory on why some phones are dying is the fact that it is using a 600Mhz processor.
more speed means more heat is produced.
how nokia designed it's processors to cool themselves might be the problem.
if the heat cannot be dissipated properly, it will fry the circuit board, thus rendering the phone inoperable.
hopefully this is just a random theory of mine.
I'm a fan of this phone, so I hope I'm wrong.
I'll replace mine tonight.
Jamaican what country r u from&I hope they have golden aluminium color cause I think it will be easier 2 read under different light not like silver&keep us posted once u get this phone, especially about ringingtone volume&earpiece.Thanx
can some one tell me that the battery charged when put to charger for more taht 2.5 hrs what to do ????????????
nice posting about mobile review. I was checking its home page frm many days bt cudnt find it. So thnx 4 posting.
nice inputs, i jst knew it yesterday when i read d full review of e52 frm mobile-review. In e52, nokia use d same hardware as they use in 5630 xm. So keep providing ur valuable inputs.
To Original Jamaican,
hi bro, h r u?
So sad tht u dint get ur e52. I m d person who is waiting for ur fon more eagerly than u. He he :-).
Though i found sm grammatical probs in mobile-review, overall it was a nice review. Unlike gsmarena, there was nt a constant tone of a positivity.
Nw every1 agree upon d fact tht built quality is nt among d best bt nt so bad.
-many of users suffering frm constant rebooting nd even sm of d handsets nt even start again. This may be due to d free memory available.
Mobile-review stated tht out of 128mb ram only 30mb is free for user. Contrary to tht, in e51, out of 96mb nearly 50% ram is free.
It jst remind me a case when windows vista arrived. Fistly we jst used to hv 512mb ram in our lappy or desk tops. After smtm we cm acros d fact tht 512 ram consume alone by vista nd nothing left for other applications.
So coming to d point,
in case of e52, this may b bcoz of new feature pack.
So d question is whether its a ram problem or firmware prob or any hardware prob.??!
Thanx and regards.
Hi people. love the phone. bought it last night from a Nokia Store.
It was technically fine when I set it up, a couple of restarts maybe during viewing of the gallery but it went through okay when I tested the other features.
Really Fast. beautiful slim design in my honest opinion.
The store clerk said it doesn't need to be recharged for first time use and I saw that its battery was full also.
but when I woke up. it wouldn't turn on.
It was made in korea.
I'll have it replaced today when the Nokia Store opens, hopefully it was just a defective unit and not affecting all e52s as a whole.
When I get a good one, I'll try to post a detailed review of my own testings here.
I know e52`s greatnes but i m doubl minded due to Fm transmiter and tv-out functionality in n79
PLzzzzzzzzzz help me
Original_Jamaican, 04 Sep 2009Thank you for the MOBILE-REVIEW link. I search that site on a regular basis and have been look... moreNo problem there buddy.
As I have read the review, I noticed the astonishing battery times of this phone. Note that Mobile-Review, according to their battery tests on this phone, had an astounding 39 hours of continuous music playback(!) which is simply excellent. Even the oh-so-popular 5800XM only had 34 hours of continuous music playback according to their battery tests.
My friends I stopped by the store again yesterday and unfortunately...you know the rest BUT the good news is that the shipment is in the country just that it's at customs waiting to be cleared.
More than likely the store will either get it sometime this weekend OR during the course of next week. Either way it's in the country which means it will soon be in my hands.
