my theory on why some phones are dying is the fact that it is using a 600Mhz processor.
more speed means more heat is produced.
how nokia designed it's processors to cool themselves might be the problem.
if the heat cannot be dissipated properly, it will fry the circuit board, thus rendering the phone inoperable.
hopefully this is just a random theory of mine.
I'm a fan of this phone, so I hope I'm wrong.
I'll replace mine tonight.
Jamaican what country r u from&I hope they have golden aluminium color cause I think it will be easier 2 read under different light not like silver&keep us posted once u get this phone, especially about ringingtone volume&earpiece.Thanx
can some one tell me that the battery charged when put to charger for more taht 2.5 hrs what to do ????????????
nice posting about mobile review. I was checking its home page frm many days bt cudnt find it. So thnx 4 posting.
nice inputs, i jst knew it yesterday when i read d full review of e52 frm mobile-review. In e52, nokia use d same hardware as they use in 5630 xm. So keep providing ur valuable inputs.
To Original Jamaican,
hi bro, h r u?
So sad tht u dint get ur e52. I m d person who is waiting for ur fon more eagerly than u. He he :-).
Though i found sm grammatical probs in mobile-review, overall it was a nice review. Unlike gsmarena, there was nt a constant tone of a positivity.
Nw every1 agree upon d fact tht built quality is nt among d best bt nt so bad.
-many of users suffering frm constant rebooting nd even sm of d handsets nt even start again. This may be due to d free memory available.
Mobile-review stated tht out of 128mb ram only 30mb is free for user. Contrary to tht, in e51, out of 96mb nearly 50% ram is free.
It jst remind me a case when windows vista arrived. Fistly we jst used to hv 512mb ram in our lappy or desk tops. After smtm we cm acros d fact tht 512 ram consume alone by vista nd nothing left for other applications.
So coming to d point,
in case of e52, this may b bcoz of new feature pack.
So d question is whether its a ram problem or firmware prob or any hardware prob.??!
Thanx and regards.
Hi people. love the phone. bought it last night from a Nokia Store.
It was technically fine when I set it up, a couple of restarts maybe during viewing of the gallery but it went through okay when I tested the other features.
Really Fast. beautiful slim design in my honest opinion.
The store clerk said it doesn't need to be recharged for first time use and I saw that its battery was full also.
but when I woke up. it wouldn't turn on.
It was made in korea.
I'll have it replaced today when the Nokia Store opens, hopefully it was just a defective unit and not affecting all e52s as a whole.
When I get a good one, I'll try to post a detailed review of my own testings here.
I know e52`s greatnes but i m doubl minded due to Fm transmiter and tv-out functionality in n79
PLzzzzzzzzzz help me
Original_Jamaican, 04 Sep 2009Thank you for the MOBILE-REVIEW link. I search that site on a regular basis and have been look... moreNo problem there buddy.
As I have read the review, I noticed the astonishing battery times of this phone. Note that Mobile-Review, according to their battery tests on this phone, had an astounding 39 hours of continuous music playback(!) which is simply excellent. Even the oh-so-popular 5800XM only had 34 hours of continuous music playback according to their battery tests.
My friends I stopped by the store again yesterday and unfortunately...you know the rest BUT the good news is that the shipment is in the country just that it's at customs waiting to be cleared.
More than likely the store will either get it sometime this weekend OR during the course of next week. Either way it's in the country which means it will soon be in my hands.
Jade, 04 Sep 2009Yes i agree you, there could be some firmware problems.
But in which kind the problems are ... moreTo JADE:
Thank you very much for sharing your findings with us.
I'm NOT surprised that the speaker has astonished you with it's incredible sound. I expected it...reason being is that sometime ago I read the E55 review at MOBILE-REVIEW.COM and this was said:
"The phone is based on the same platform as the Nokia 5630 XpressMusic, and it scored the same in all performance tests we put it through."
That's what MOBILE-REVIEW said about the E55 sound system. I figured the same would go for the E52 because both they E52 and E55 are twins...only difference being the keypad.
So once again JADE, I'm not surprised about the high fidelity sound the E52 produces...afterall, it's based on the XPRESS MUSIC platform which means MORE than likely it has a dedicated AUDIO chip to produce rich and crystal clear sounds.
JADE please continue to test and reveal your findings. We appreciate it.
auninda, 04 Sep 2009no remedy yet found for your problem till now..well mine one started freezing from the 2nd day... moreYes i agree you, there could be some firmware problems.
But in which kind the problems are shown would interest me ... like are there any errors or somethin like that ???
Also i want to add to all who are interested in this device. I was again in the electronic center to test only the audio quality (music) and loudness.
I CANT believe it really. This phone had VERY GOOD audio quality and except this its VERY VERY LOUD with the headset!!!! The Loudspeakers were loud too but compared to my 6290 is the external loudspeaker a little bit quieter!
It seems like a joke maybe but this BUSINESS DEVICE has enough Power to hold on with an ExpressMusic Device!!!It supports BassBooster to which has quite nice audio bassing, better than my 6290!!!!
in my opinion
I can only say test everyone for itself to see the Music quality of this device...
They couldn't fit an autofocus camera into the 9.9mm case. I mean, think about what's already in this little phone! It's crammed with everything PLUS a 1500mhA battery!
RBa, 04 Sep 2009Probably, what they mean is that, the Nokia E52 comes bundled with a 1GB memory card right out... moreThank you for the MOBILE-REVIEW link. I search that site on a regular basis and have been looking out for the E52 review but haven't seen it at all because I kept checking the English version of the site which sometimes doesn't get some of the reviews. Thanks again for the link.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, 04 Sep 2009ok now one question please answer ASAP when they say that the 3G HSPDA is 10.2 mbps does that ... moreoff coz 10.2 mb fastest than 3.6mbps...it can make ur downloading faster, but it depend to ur network supplier.
Warren, 04 Sep 2009Hi all,
Just purchased the Nokia E-52 a week ago, was working fine and then suddenly just wen... moreno remedy yet found for your problem till now..well mine one started freezing from the 2nd day..i took it to the nokia care but they couldn do anything..they called me up and told me they sent the phone to nokia and a new set will arrive which they claim will not ve any kinda problems..well i am still waiting to get my hands on the new phone..
i think over 90% E52 has firmware or hardware problems..perhaps its better no1 buys E52 for some times till nokia sorts out the problem with it..
ok now one question please answer ASAP when they say that the 3G HSPDA is 10.2 mbps does that mean that it is 3 times as fast as the blackberry tour which is like 3.6 mbps
Guys, I have just checked out the Google Translated webpage. While it really has been translated into English, the most obvious problem is that the grammar turned out to be pretty ridiculous. More often than not, you can hardly understand the real thought of a sentence due to the lousy translation.
But that isn't a problem. Well, how about sending Mobile-Review some emails requesting them to translate or make it available on the English version? I know we can make it. Let's send them an email requesting them to release it in English.
Original_Jamaican, 03 Sep 2009I just came across an introductory summary for the E52
'The Magnificent Nokia E52... moreProbably, what they mean is that, the Nokia E52 comes bundled with a 1GB memory card right out of the box. But anyone reading the article might be misleaded since they explicitly state it as "built in" - which turns out to be wrong.
Anyway, for those who are interested of yet another Nokia E52 review, you can read it at Mobile-Review. Though, it is still in Russian, you can still use Google Translate to translate it in English. You can read it here (already translated):
