If it still mutes when touching your ear, maybe the ambient sensor is faulty. Test it bay hovering your hand over it while making a call.

Can someone assist me; if I take a call or make a call on the Nokia E6, I am constantly putting people on speaker phone, or on hold, or I mute myself. I try to hold the phone away from my ear, but even the slightest touch causes one of the above to happen. Is there something wrong with my handset, or do they all do this?
Nick, 31 Mar 2012I am huge fan of qwerty phones with solid metallic build quality. i have used blackberry b... moreE6 is a good phone. But when the selection of model comes; first ask yourself whether you want Nokia make or not? Nokia sets are generally good but if you are one among the unlucky few; you will realise that services of this company is too poor. You may have to leave your set at the service centre; 20% of time in 1st. year (and after that no free service). Also, more headcahe is every visit will cost you the loss of all existing data. Even response from CEO of this company is poor. All above are my hard-core experiences and proof can be furnished on request. So, in a nut-shell; you can buy E6 if you have already decided for Nokia make.
puzzle, 01 Apr 2012 its been 4months now since i bought this phone And 1month from upgrading it to belle Its ... moreNice review. I had this phone, and I agree, quality of build, battery life and nice res for a small screen were some big highlights for me as well. Another thing to remeber, Nokia, particularly this phone, has amazing reception, better than my HTC Desire, SGS2, iPhone 4S. It never dropped calls and everyone sounded clear!
its been 4months now since i bought this phone
And 1month from upgrading it to belle
Its really amazing that u feel the power of this phone
Unless ur a hardcore android lover for games and application (emphasize the no use application for everyday work related basis)
Since i upgraded my e6 to nokia belle
My browsing tru the internet is smooth and more user friendly
The qwerty keypad adds up the smoothness of it
And now belle on e6 has a slide down like in android phones
And have 4 buttons in it
Switching the mobile connection, wifi, bluetooth and silent.
And getting emails are very impressive. I wonder why some people post here negative.. Maybe they just didnt use der nokia e6 well.
Yes its just a little screen to play with but hello.. Its a business phone.. Buy bigger screen phone if u want big screen.. 2.46 is not bad...
The price is mid-high but affordable and worth ur money.
Camera is good.. But autofocus may get this a 2 thumbs up but still its decent
And the battery power? 4 hrs average wifi net den normal texting and call with 2hrs average of music playing and videos, makes dis phone half batt in one day.. So dis phone in my own use, last 2days and one night.. One of the best battery life..
Nokia may not be like android or ios, but basic is der priority, from battery to protection, price to quality, nokia is still top maker for me.

i have used blackberry bold 3 for 1 yr, then as i dont hv bbm friends and blackberry internet plans cost me so much everymonth. so i shifted to Samsung galaxy S-2. i am using it since 3 months. very good phone but i dont like complete touchscreen phones and android kills battery of any phone, in addition i like qwerty keypad. so i can roughly use my phone.

got to say, i had grown tired looking for a value for money smartphone, when i saw the advert in a nokia shop but didnt take much stock of it. Then one day i decided to just purchase it and...WOW. Got to say, much better value for money than htc or sony ericsson. Great battery life, easy to use and very professional looking. Advice: buy it, you WONT be disappointed, guaranteed.
