Great phone. Only problem it has is w/ "hidden" or non-broadcast SSID's for WIFI. You can connect but it won't auto recognize which forces you to enter in all the information each time. Has no problems w/ SSID's that are broadcast. There are a number of things you can turn off or "turn down" in order to increase batter life. The phone is slim, has a large number of contact options. Great for keeping on top of meetings and other things (if you're running outlook or notes). Plenty of 3rd party apps to customize or tweak your phone. It actually has MORE power than I need. The phone seems to be very well made. VOIP works great. Wish it were slightly smaller in length but it's really good for it's power. Probably the best overall phone Nokia has made in a long time. Finally one that doesn't feel like a plastic kid's toy. The camera is actually pretty good. Not made for video calling but that's a pretty novel thing at this point.
how do you change the font size on the phone?? i need to make it bigger, but save it aswell
i just got this phone with 3 and was very disappointed. I had a 6280 before and must say i prefer it. firstly, the camera on e65 has no flash and only 2MP...secondly no video call. most annoyingly, it advertises VOIP WLAN, the main reason i chose it...yet 3 cripples skype letting you use it only over your data allowance, not WLAN....what a scam! i can't find any free software on the Internet that gets round this either. don't go for this phone unless appearance is the most important thing to you
i just love this phone and i think tjis is the best nokia in the world and that you all sould bay one of these
No worries claire :) See how you go over the next couple of days. I get bout 3 days usage on average under those settings. You should notice that there isn't a '3G' under the reception bar once you select GSM and not dual mode. It may increase your battery life a little according to some web resources. I find the benefits of keeping it on is significant especially in areas with poor reception, so weigh it up over the next couple of days. The most common reasons for battery life being short is having Bluetooth on, WLAN scanning on, or the internet running in the background due to an e mail program running, or Skype, Fring or similar running.
To Exzibit3 and everyone else, thank you so much for helping me with my E65. I've changed everything you have advised me to do. Interestingly, instead of gprs in the settings, I had it on Dual mode. But fingers crossed, it should be better now. Thanks once again.
Ohh..n im so loving the Fring program install for msn, skype or G..just so cool
To sandy ,
i cant access the weblink u gave for the FS caller ..
is this the onw u referring to ?
Claire, few things you can do to increase battery life. Change: settings>phone>display>light sensor>minimum.
settings>phone>display>power saver time out>1 minute.
settings>phone>display>light time out>5 secs.
settings>connection>wireless lan>show availability>never.
settings>connection>wireless lan>options>advanced settings>yes>power saving>enabled.
Make sure you haven't got the internet running in the background. If it is, there will be a small "fan" looking icon just below the battery indicator. Close all programs by pressing and holding the button next to the green "call" button and selecting each program to close.
3G can drain your battery quickly, it's normal.
for alarm repetition, u can download handy alarm from series60v3.com. it's free
to get bigger caller's picture u can dowload fullscreen caller from series60v3.com. it's free as well
the issue with any nokia phone is the built quality, yes I agree the UI is excellent, I have been a fan with nokia but cant stand it anymore as i kept having issue with the interfact and also the quality of the phone sucks!!
I have just bought this fone, and I really like it. But could someone please help me with the battery power, as it seems to go down very fast, and have tried not to use it so much. How can I set the settings so battery is not being run so quickly?
I do have 3G on the top all the time, and am not on the wap. Thanks.
I love this little phone but the buletooth only v1.2 so it doesn't support A2DP but does anyone know if nokia will have a software upgarde so it become v2.0 and support A2DP.
can anyone help me? does E65 have an alarm clock that you can set repetition days to? this function helped me very much on my previous phone and i can't find it anywhere on E65
