Can any one tell me what the best smart phone for business is at the momment in SA? Not for surfing the net!
j, 20 Apr 2011Nokia's Quality is shocking these days... The nokia N8 had one of the worst return rates almos... moreWell, i have no idea where that fact of yours come from, but i'd agree on quality control problem, but not as mush as you think. You have to thank the communists for this. Not just Nokia, even iPhone4 had problems, at least for my country's batch- they come from China. My other nokia budget phone, which the serial code reveals it is a Korean one, never had issues, but China ones will always have problem. F*** China, really...
"Nokia's Quality is shocking these days... The nokia N8 had one of the worst return rates almost reaching 2 returns per handset sold due to numerous faults with the handset."
I am another happy bunny after buying E7.It is great for what i need and as someone said earlier is just better than E90.
I do have a dissappointment and that is its NOT AN e90 that i wished for.Nokia say its the replacement for E90 but i wanted a clamshell and auto-focus but well here have the next best thing.
Forgot to mention, that 5% only applies to the first batch of N8s which some of them had a problematic electronic part. The issue has been identified and newer units don't have that problem.

AnonD-4053, 20 Apr 2011Infact its business phone which needs a autofocus camera so very much. If you want to use Appl... moreI agree with you for the camera not being auto-focus in business phone. The term Macro/close-up are mostly treated as a part of creative photography which is very much true but close up is more important for business for doing what you said and I deal with that many times in a day.
I was waiting for E7 to come for keyboard and larger screen and superb design but after learning about the camera I recently take N8. N8 is good but I just can't use it for typing proper emails/documents/articles at all, which I have to do for work.
I have had a Nokia E90 since 2 weeks after its launch (having waited 2 years for it to be released). I have spent the last 4 years being berated by friends and colleagues for possessing a "Brick" for a phone.
During this time I have purchased Blackberry's and iPhones but never got past the point of putting my contact details on them. I just stuck with the old faithful E90.
I have now been waiting for what seems an eternity for the E7 to come out - But the moment has arrived and I have taken the plunge.
Nokia - Welcome to the 21st Century.
The phone is absolutely awesome and does everything that I want, and a little more.
I have loaded 714 contacts, 15,000 songs (not previously possible on the E90, 536 images and 438 important text messages onto my E7. The new Ovi Suite made this exercise a synch.
It took a day of fiddling, but I am now fully operational on the new phone. It has completely surpassed my expectations.
The keyboard is a little fiddlier, but easily overcomeable.
It is an imperative that you buy the CP-501 case/cover for it, because it is a very slippery little bugger.
If you are an E90 fan, you will not be dissappointed.
I only hope they don't bring out an E7-01!
