I prefer not to have a card slot as writing and deleting data on card slots tend to corrupt it in a matter of time. Moreover all this writing and deleting data will also consume battery. I'm using the E72 and the N86. For eg when I same my sms on the phone memory the application will open faster and more stable but when I select sms to be saved on the memory card I notice the sms application will tend to lag slightly.
marckus, 18 Nov 2010No card slot?? I mean, anyone could tell me what's behind this move? Personaly I put all my d... moreThey have a reason behind no card slot. You also have a choice whether to buy this phone or not. Anyway the iPhone has no card slot and everyone saying its the best. When the manufacturer gives you a card slot there will be something else that people want. How can they satisfy everyone, Thats why Nokia came up with lots of different phone models to cater to individuals needs. I'm using a E72 and love the battery life if I wanted a good camera I'd go for the N8 which would be my second phone. If they put everything in a phone I'm sure the you would get only 3-4 hours battery. Phones evolves fast but not battery yet.
Can anyone tell why the hell are idiots coming to the E7 site to trash the phone. The thing is that this phone is not even out in the market and everyone thinks that they are God by saying that the phone is bad. Stop condemning coz every phone has it good or bad points. No phones are perfect. Android,Win7 and iPhone has its bad points as well. Whatever it is its the choice of the people. Don't be an idiot by saying this phone is bad coz it reflects what kind of person you are. I can have a 2Ghz processor with 2GB RAM and the worlds latest OS with the worlds best hardware but that does not make the phone good. There's bound to be some bad points. Why in the world do you think that a laptop can only last at most 8 to 10 hours battery usage.
If they can make this phone camera with upto 12 Mp and with android operating system this phone is the world no 1 phone we can say these two things are missing. Important thing is it is not android OS
Mobilemaster, 17 Nov 2010Next year, when other phones will have 1.5 GHZ CPU's and 1 GHZ Dual Core... :D Nokia is late...yup agree with you..more power processor 1.5ghz or dual core...but there is something you need to sacrife..battery power or back up....i know how suffer and hungger their are with battery back up...i preffer battery over speedy processor....and for this time being, only nokia provide me best battery stand by and realibility..other is bonus feature for me..check with ANDROID/WM6/7 user..their will tell you more. .if i need speed to do my job...i use my laptop..this is a smart phone not laptop/desktop..it for casual.....
marckus, 18 Nov 2010No card slot?? I mean, anyone could tell me what's behind this move? Personaly I put all my d... moredo you know that ..symbian^3 support usb OTG..instead of taking the card away..just slide in your usb thumb drive.it more convinient compare to remove memory card to computer...again you can do that anytime/anywhere even there is no computer next to you.
Sails, 18 Nov 2010I think the main reason there is no card slot is that the this is a hardcore business phone. ... morethank sails...it realy make sense now...i never thought of that...really brilliant...heheheh..yup you are correct..it e series for bussiness need...there is software when the phone stollen...we can send massage to lock it and much more we can encrypt the data inside the phone..wow..very nice...it bussiness needed ..in did.
just wanna know if this machine can do the 'instant messaging' like the blackberry does

The internal memory is totally encrypted and easily removable memory card is a security risk that many companies are not willing to take.
th3D, 18 Nov 2010be aware that this is an ARM11 processor, 680MHz is nothing in an ARM11. the 600MHz cortex A8 ... moreIf the CPU is a total failure, tell me why for example NFS Shift looks great and runs smooth on N8 and iPhone, but not so good & lags on those "fast" Android phones?
If the OS is a huge CPU hog and can't properly take advantage of GPU, what is the point? Besides those phones can only run at that 1 GHz for very short periods or they will a) kill the battery and b) overheat.
be aware that this is an ARM11 processor, 680MHz is nothing in an ARM11. the 600MHz cortex A8 processor of N900 is twice as fast as this one, and more than twice as fast in some media apps.
so pls dont think that "680 is not bad, it will not be much slower than a 1ghz snapdragon". Coz it will be insanely much slower. snapdragon is similar to cortex A8 in speed "clock for clock", meaning at 1ghz its at least 3 times faster than ARM11 at 680MHz.
Its obvious by now, Nokia CANNOT make Symbian run error free on Cortex A8 or Scorpio cores, only N900 has a modern processor and its also the only one NOT running Symbian. Not a coincidence. N900 is fast and delicious, ofcorse Nokia would like to make other phones like it, if they could.
If anyone can come up with a better explanation for why nokia swears to outdated arm11 for symbian i like to hear it. They know ppl dont wan ARM11 and still they havent done anything about it. we know its not a hardware problem, N900 (Linux) is the proof.
Anonymous, 18 Nov 2010This phone would have been great about two years ago. Lets face it 1 GHz processors are where ... moreLooks like another one bites the dust.. Its a business phone and the main focus of this device is the battery life not the clock speed.. Regarding the Resolution its only temporary "Symbian^3 devices is upgradable to Symbian^4 in the future s expect more features and higher resolution." Is your precious phone have that feature ^_^..
This is the one the best phone in nokia Thaanks Nokia for giving us wonderful technology & phones . Request you to make slightly smaller phones length wise , Blackbeery makes longest lenth of phone - 109 to 114mm . Even sony Xperia has launched a smaller version . 3.2" & 3.5...
Can anyone confirm when this will be available in the Philippines? Specifically here in Manila? Thanks
No card slot?? I mean, anyone could tell me what's behind this move?
Personaly I put all my data on my card and just slide it in other phones or laptop without using wires or blutooth... I'll just have to keep my e72 till they decide to include a CS
This phone would have been great about two years ago. Lets face it 1 GHz processors are where its at to use a 680 MHz processor is a major fail. The screen resolution would also be terrible, considering its the same number of pixel resolution as the N8 but in a larger screen, look at Motorola cramming 854x480 pixels into a 4.3 inch display. All the other features are gr8, love the slide out keyboard, but it could have been much better. Sorry Nokia, better luck next time.
