Here is an old NOKIA N82 running 66 A P P L I C A T I O N S S I M U L T A N E O U S L Y!!
what can you say?
Can your Android or iOS can do that with only 332mhz CPU and only 128mb RAM?
You see? The point is, Symbian doesn't require lots of ram, it can run on low amount of resources.
Ive used an Android phone with 800mhz CPU and 256Mb of RAM but F#@*! it hangs a lot!!!
iOS doesnt do real multitasking and NOT ON ALL APPS!! wtf?! i wont spend $600 with that garbage!!!
(Not to mention the faulty antennae..)
watching Gizmodo's 'how usable is your N8' video and it never fails to make me laugh =^o^=
Why did the iphone4 have RUBBER CASE?!
i thought 'usability' was the issue?
They should have removed the case to SHOW WHICH PHONE IS REALLY USABLE O U T - O F - T H E B O X!
Very PATHETIC for a $600 garbage.
simple user, 08 Oct 2010640x360 on 4"? The default browser that comes with the N97 is not particularly good with the text readability of the default font. I use Opera Mini for most of my internet browsing and the font I choose is bigger and thus makes viewing web pages better.
I use different apps and each use different fonts. I would say that the text readability is pretty good on all the apps that I use because of the font used. If the apps on the E7 used the same fonts as these same apps on the N97, I would not think that there would be any issues with text readability. The E7 screen has the same resolution of the N97, but everything would just be 14% bigger on a 4" screen compared to a 3.5" screen. Maybe I'll just be able to see individual pixels more clearly. I'm not sure if this is going to be an issue until I actually look at one.
this phone has some down grades like no memory card, auto focus,fm transmitter, low screen resolution
but it has all those things what it is meant for
so i love it
can some1 tel me the rate of tis phone in INDIA and its release date here...?
pls help me out........
hayato, 08 Oct 2010He is actually saying that symbian is designed that way. Symbian exist when 1ghz processors on... moreThere again is his wrong illogical conclusion. All mobile OS that has the ability to multitask can theoretically run 50 simultaneous applications. Android included, however the obviously only limiting factor is hardware. There again is Nokia's downfall. While other OS can multitask to a higher extent due to their more than generous hardware, Nokia will be limited to the measly amount. Its pretty stupid of him to even make the claim asking me if android/iOS can run 50 simultaneous applications while Nokia/Symbian can't. Its basically as moronic as him asking me to show him android/iOS creating a black hole to justify the superiority of Nokia/Symbian.
Only two problems: No memory card, No Auto focous
If No Autofocous, about 70% of photoes will suffer from hand shakes effect.
No Memory card will probably makes the device to HANG and lose all your data...
I think N8 is one step above and better, despite the camera.
ShameOnNokia, 07 Oct 2010Yet again another "symbian runs fine and efficient on the hardware its given". You n... moreHe is actually saying that symbian is designed that way. Symbian exist when 1ghz processors on a phone is all but a dream.
Lower speced androids have HVGA resolutions and incapacitated to some high-end android's feature is that true?
I don't know anything about nokia's profits though ;)
Can someone PLEASE tell me when the E7 will be available in Australia? I can't wait to get it! It looks like an awesome improved version of my N97 (hopefully without the issues).. Thank you! :D
Stuntman, 07 Oct 2010I think that regardless of whether the screen resolution is actually good enough, people see a... more640x360 on 4"? Well back in 2004 i got "super mega cool" PDA with the space tech screen of 640x480 on 4" screen (it had impressive resolution compared to other 320x240). That was the main reason i spend 400 USD on that. Now 6 years later i know 3 things:
600(800) x 480 resolution is bare minimum for good text readablity (supposedly clear type is ON).
processor power is important for computing intensive operations but 640 MHz on 6 year old technology (Xscale) is good for general purpose mobile applications (except flash rich web pages rendering)
memory is extremly important especially for multitasking. more GB is better. I mean not ROM or flash or whatever but RAM. By the way vendors announce all RAM in specs but not the ammount available to user apps.
Anonymous, 08 Oct 2010The rumor say E 9-00 4'3'' 1280x720p 12 MP camera Record video 1080p@30fps 720p@60fps 1.3... moreSo the that's where the smp A9 multicore project for. Yeah, i'm excited about that too. Suppose that it can really perform without sacrificing battery life, then it will be the best phone ever. But we have yet to see it. And who knows by that time the competition will have the same capabilities as rumored s^4.
Unknown000, 08 Oct 2010Is E7 worth waiting for? Or should I just settled for E5? Of course, E5 in no match for E7.....
if i were u, i will wait even for 5 months. ( BTW, i am going to get this phone as soon as it hits our market..;) )
i havenot used yat but i wann to use this mobile set....
ha, 08 Oct 2010So what you will do with 50 applications at a time....dont be funny....LOL yet another fanboy who fails to even read previous comments. I never made the comment that android/ios can perform 50 applications at once. One of you nokia kids did. I then asked for video proof of this 50 simultaneous running apps.
symbianblack, 08 Oct 2010why would anyone need to run 50 applications at once? I don't know? you should be telling me that. Thats one of the comments left by someone using it as a defense for Symbian devices. LOL even some nokia fanboys don't know squat about the devices they so blindly love it seems.
jon.hubert.bristol@g, 08 Oct 2010Why don't you show me that sort of unnecessary multi-tasking on any other mobile OS. Oh, and b... moreLOL you sure are behind on the times huh? iOS has limited multitasking, while Android has had multitasking since launch day with Tmobile G1. Android and iOS fanboys certainly don't go exaggerating "50 simultaneously running apps". That's quite laughable. Funny how you guys keep using "multitasking" as your defense, when basically every other mobile OS has multitasking (with iOS being limited to certain features and functions). Whats there to "multitask" on symbian? Tell me what you would "multitask" on your Symbian^3 devices? Browser? Music? navigation? Guess what, iOS and android can do those too? Gonna tell me you're gonna "multitask" office documents by minimizing them while you check your email? Its not multitasking when word document applications aren't doing anything in the background geniuses.
