disappointed that nokia did not include BP-4L 1500 mAH battery and memory card slot in e7 which are all available in predecessors of the communicator line-up.
Go to hell symbian and nokia critics! Android and iOS fanatics go to your own places! Better leave this site now and join to your respected anti-nokia forums! Maybe you are now afraid that nokia is now back in the smartphone competition. Don't judge the phone that is not yet released in the market.
I have had many nokia's in the the past and all of them were great. The thing that nokia needs to do is change the os (they should of got palm before hp). iOS, android, palm os and windows 7 are all good os, symbian is out dated! Eye candy is everything now, even Rim plans to change their os to the play book's (that's their new tablet). Nokia doesn't need android but something Fu@king close, YOU CANT HAVE A OS THAT CAN BE USED ON A UNTOUCH SCREEN!!!!
As of now iPhone 4 is king not because of the hardware or software, but it's easy to use. If you thing I'm wrong, tell me 3 reason why. To be the king you have to beat the king and only android is putting up a fight for now.
All Features are complete
If the effective pixels of camera photographying be real,This phone is complete
scorpio, 30 Sep 2010well all are talking about android these days. I like this operating system in htc legend, my ... more... I don't know where you're getting your information from. From gsmarena's own samsung section, Samsung only has like 5 Wave(Bada OS) Devices and about ~15 phones running Android. Also besides south korean Samsung isn't even marketing their Bada OS. Reason because for quite some time Android was only US, however Android is world wide now.
shri, 30 Sep 2010Its ok mate. you can use USB stick directly so you can access your 32gb or 100gb external driv... moreUSB OTG is pretty much useless. Unless you want to carry a portable HDD around with you all day which can be quite heavy you're stuck with microSD, and unless you have USB flash drives that are microUSB rather than regular USB you're stuck as well. If you're gonna be carrying around a portable USB HDD you are most likely gonna be carrying around a laptop. Nokia likes to make nifty features that are really pointless and not functional. Someone mentioned that with USB OTG you can pop in your portable HDD and rearrange files... So you're gonna carry around a heavy USB HDD drive just to rearrange some files around? cool, good for you.
Kooma, 30 Sep 2010Keep dreaming they(Nokia) has 10 billion euros cash in their chest, so there is very very lon... more*sigh* i don't even know where to begin. You're either a very good market marketing personnel or a very bad financial assessor. First off, Nokia doesn't have ~10B Euro, by which i think you mean 9.7B to be precise. That is their total cash flow. Their net cash flow was closer to ~5B. This isn't profits though, their profit margin was slightly under 1B Euro, this is values for Q1 2010. So no, Nokia isn't bankruptcy proof, not even in the slightest. In contrast Apple's cash flow for Q1 2010 was 16B, net cash flow was 7.66B, this is more impressive than Nokia considering how much cash apple spends. Maybe you should enroll at your local community college and take a course in business and finances.
omar, 30 Sep 2010excuse me but all the 3 new 8MP phones has only fixed focus beside the tasty stuff inside it,,... moreThe E7 camera has a feature called Extended Depth of Field (EDoF) instead of auto focus. What EDoF gives you is the ability to focus on both foreground and background objects. For instance, if you are taking a picture of a person with some landmark in the background, autofocus will likely make the person in the foreground in focus while the background landmark is not. EDoF allows both the person in the foreground and the landmark in the background to both be in focus. The limitations of EDoF is that objects about 50cm or closer will not be in focus. Everything from 50cm to infinity will be in focus.
excuse me but all the 3 new 8MP phones has only fixed focus beside the tasty stuff inside it,,weird though
creepy nokia cant get everything classy
Ibrahim, 30 Sep 2010Why the hell didnt Nokia put a memory card slot on this phone...??? Its just stupid of them i ... moreIts ok mate. you can use USB stick directly so you can access your 32gb or 100gb external drive directly on the go... so i feel its getter than memory stick..
something to loose to gain something.
well all are talking about android these days. I like this operating system in htc legend, my friend's. Its a great operating system. But i want to buy a great phone.. Not just a great os. Nokia built quality is superb and trust worthy. Major android handset makers are samsung htc and motorolla. In these samsung makes the worst quality. Htc Lacks after sales and moto also has the same problem. Infact samsung is switching over to its own os bada. Which may indicate that android has limited life time. Now if we talk about applications than if new application is launched in android than same will come on symbian also within a month, Nokia is now really serious about its application development. When you are buying a phone than see the phone also not just os. I like android but cant bet on htc and motorolla. Samsung is worst. Nokia e7 hardware is just great. 16gb memory is disappointing but comparing it with other phones than its ok. It has 680 processor but also has 3d chip and i love this design . Its a beauty. Its a great deal. Not a bet.
Stuntman, 30 Sep 2010I think Nokia is quite a long ways away from filing bankruptcy. Still they have to make an ef... moreactually the E7 has either an oled display or a amoled display so, even with 360*640 pixels it is very clear
Ibrahim, 30 Sep 2010Why the hell didnt Nokia put a memory card slot on this phone...??? Its just stupid of them i ... morebecause the e7 has usb on the go and you can plug in a 32 or 64 gb usb drive whenever u want to simple
ShameOnNokia, 30 Sep 2010You may think its them doing "great" effort. However I see it as them doing one last... moreI think Nokia is quite a long ways away from filing bankruptcy. Still they have to make an effort to head it off. If they do not, it will happen eventually. The good news for Nokia is that they do have some time as they are such a big company and are still making huge profits. The bad news is those profits are eroding away to other companies.
I don't see an E7 as a device for users to do photoshopping. It seems to be targetted to business users where the primary use is to check email, messages and calling. For this, the 360x640 resolution should be adequate and the CBD would be a benefit as it provides good readability if you are outside and on the go. A larger screen for this use would be more important than resolution.
As for viewing images, I would expect that higher resolution screens would be better. I haven't used a phone with a higher resolution than my N97. So far, I'm pretty satisfied with my N97 when surfing a web page with images or looking at pictures or videos. Maybe if I regularly used a phone with higher resolution I would not be able to go to a lower resolution.
In any case, I see the main selling point of the E7 is the qwerty and 4" CBD display. Another phone that is more likely in direct competition with the E7 (at least for me) is the HTC Desire Z. The Desire Z also has a qwerty, but with a smaller screen, but higher resolution. These are the two phones that seem to be front runners to be my next phone.
I do agree that Nokia is behind when it comes to developers. It is really sad that there is no native Twitter app for Symbian. The Gravity app is actually a great app for viewing Twitter, but I would have expected a native Twitter app like they have for Facebook.
Nokia is trying to encourage more developers to develop apps for Nokia phones. With Qt, they try to ensure that any work developers do on Symbian will be compatible with Meego. Even though Symbian may be on the way out, if there is an easy transition to Meego, then any apps developers build for the current Symbian phones can be used for the next generation of Meego phones.
It is still going to be an uphill battle for Nokia. Apple's iOS has been well establishd, Android is gaining great momentum and Windows Phone is about to be released with a lot of hype and interest so far.
TC, 29 Sep 2010Buy HTC Desire Z, it is a much better phone especially if you want to edit text and Office Doc... moreHell NO!
Android piece of shit with 3 line keyboard is for you. I want a FULL keyboard, a la 9210i !
Here is a couple of screenshot comparisons between the Nokia ClearBlack AMOLED and the Samsung SuperAMOLED. http://www.mobiset.ru/news/text/?id=14097
I'd say the ClearBlack AMOLED seems to be the winner..? I don't know about sharpness (or pixel density) since it's too hard to say exactly where the photographing camera has it's focus, but at least the colors on the Nokia screens seem to be more "true to life". And I like it!
Ibrahim, 30 Sep 2010Why the hell didnt Nokia put a memory card slot on this phone...??? Its just stupid of them i ... moreit is unlikely the user would need more mem since it already has a 16gb internal mem. so if u say nokia is stupid, many other phone companies are stupid including apple's iPhone which is a huge success. Before u bash a phone pls use ur common sense like wad is shown in the posting rules 'use common sense'
