ShameOnNokia, 28 Sep 2010going by your logic, then so can android, ios, windows mobile 7, webOS(now owned by HP), BB OS... moremuch as i want a debate with you right now, i have an important thing to do, i can't stay here any longer, till nxt time.
this phone is crap. bigger screen size but the pixel remains the same?! and ovi store is a joke!
ShameOnNokia, 28 Sep 2010thats a real shame, considering the iphone 3GS clocked at 600Mhz can put out 28M tps, the Galax... moreI know what galaxy s can do - 90mt/s, i read it on the same post.
However it's the cpu who does that in galaxy s' case, not the gpu.
I appreciate that you do such intense promotion for galaxy s(no offense, but that's how i look at your posts), but i read many user reviews about it's battery life. Those reviews scared me. If you don't experience any battery drains, maybe your using a battery marked g9. On those post, also, there's an issue about g7 and g9 batteries, g9 assumed to last longer.
And plust the fact that galaxy s will never be released here on the philippines is an enough reason not to have one. I don't prefer shipping.
I'm considering n8 btw. At least, the aluminum casing provides me a secure feeling that it can last many years of usage, than any fragile looking samsung(that's basically accdg. to my preferences).

There's an app for conversation... moregoing by your logic, then so can android, ios, windows mobile 7, webOS(now owned by HP), BB OS. They can all perform better and become better with help of third party apps. 3D images? whats the point? Its almost as useful as the farting app on itunes. Free internet browsing? how is that possible? unless you're jacking someone's access point internet does not come out of no where "magically and free". Symbian^3 may be a whole new OS, however from preliminary reviews from just about everyone who's had their hands on a symbian^3 device its failed to impress anyone. Read up on reviews concerning E7 and N8. They might impress someone who lets say just stepped up from an N97 or an older symbian device, but for anyone who has used iOS or android its failed to impress in that point. From anywhere from user intuitive/experience, to accessibility. I've got nothing against nokia seriously, I just feel they keep failing to go by what their consumers want. Nokia has failed to bring anything to the market that can compete, all they do now is rely on their name brand, they're even worst than apple in that sense. At the very least apple puts out products that are competitive, only difference is apple just charges you more for it(apple macbook vs laptop). I don't own a macbook, or plan to own one. I am a windows 7 fan, so don't think im an apple zealot. However with that said, i'd seriously consider owning an iphone before I even purchase another Nokia. Nokia does nothing but copy now a days, however they turn around and do it too, ie battery not being replaceable, or iphone 4's antenna's problem. If you don't remember, the E71 has had issues with its antenna located at the very bottom where the microphone is. This problem existed way before the iphone 4 antenna debacle. don't get me wrong, I loved the E71, loved it so much i bought the E71-2 just to see what the real deal was. I owned the E71-x first then got the E71-2 a couple weeks later.

There's an app for conversational view of sms.
There's an app to block the call of an annoying contact.
There's an app to hide your folder and your files.
There's a modified java app for free internet browsing.
There's an app that could change your system font.
There's an app to view your photos 3D.
There's an app to play divx files.
There's even an app to play any file format.
There's an app that can replace your file manager to gain full control of your files - system or private.
There's an app that could uninstall all of your apps at once.
There's an app that could get any social networking updates on one place.
There's an app to replace your usual homescreen
And there's more.
Symbian isn't just doing all of this natively, until now.
If there is one critism i could accept with regards to the symbian OS. That could be it's lack of optimization on touchscreen devices, and it's slow response on the eyecandy trend. Which is primarily the reason why it gains such a bad image in the first place, and why people think it's physically unattractive, therefore dumb? (i don't even think they're synonymous, i just translated it based on some other's own thinking)
Symbian^3, however, is a whole new platform. Rewritten to support touch devices even more, with additional Qt. framework. Let's wait until the first s^3( N8) will perform, then make the unbiased judgement.
I myself will never buy one if it can't perform well. I have learned enough after n97's ram issue, i never bought the phone anyway, just prevented me from doing so.

Once again proving nokia's track record of putting out last generation hardware and marketing it as a high end product only for nokia fanboys to be fooled. So nokia's broadcom chip only puts out about 45,000 triangles per clock cycle, where as the Galaxy S puts out 90,000 per clock cycle. Double efficiency. This is comparing an N8 which isn't even released yet to a phone that's been out since August.

At times when graphics processing is the only thing concered, (eg. navigating the UI) the GPU does most of the work. At loading times (eg. saving a file, loading a game, opening applications) the CPU kicks in. Working efficiently together (eg. playing videos, playing games, using apps with high-end graphics) they could make a great tandem, without suffering the li-ion 1200mah battery.
ShameOnNokia, 28 Sep 2010Symbian is stable because theres not much you can do on it. LOL i never said symbian wasn't st... moreim sorry but the N900 is a brilliant device ive owned mine for ages now and as a phone it makes calls and texts but as a maemo device its incredable the community if fantastic.. yes the OVI store is a joke but i dont use it. i sit with 5 iphone users on my desk mos 3gs but 1 4. my N900 laughs at ne thing they throw at me.. aprt from ninjump god i hope some1 can port that to the N900.
then again i agree Nokia did fail with the N900 they didnt market it right and then failed t support it.
I love the E7 bar it runs symbian (which im not a huge fan) and it doesnt have a FM transmitter which i love in my N900. when i heard of the release i was hoping it runs meego as i have tried it on my n900 and it looks good.
any way just my two pence
[deleted post]and once again the nokia fanboy strikes. If you even bothered reading instead of jumping to conclusions to justify your love for a failure of a company you would've understand that I stated that Nokia was one of the first mobile phone companies to support VoIP natively however they are many things that nokia was not the first and pretty much the last to do. LOL, really sometimes its hilarious how much you fanboys love nokia. Oh well have fun with your E7 thinking it'll be the droid killer and then when it fails have fun waiting for the N9 to be a "droid killer" as well. Maybe Nokia should ask motorola for advice since Motorola at one point was hemorrhaging money like Nokia is now, yet they were able to turn it around.
Anonymous, 28 Sep 2010i own galaxy s and with its 1ghz processor its lags hell..RAM is only 386 unlike 512 mentioned... moreAndroid is the most stable os, it is based on linux, and is still far better than Nokias still not even beta MeeGo. The problems with Galaxy S, lag and gps, can all easily be fixed witk the help of guides on Internet, and the the lag is caused by Samsung stupid choice of file-system, not Android.
If Symbian is so "great" why is there no Symbian-phone that has a larger screen resolution than 360x640?
360x640 on a 4 inch screen, or even 3.5 inch screen, is not acceptable today on a top multimedia smartphone.
According to features its a superb phone has everything but screens seems to be bulky should be around 3.7 inch. You can get complete list of features and GPRS/EDGE/3G setting at
Anonymous, 28 Sep 2010i own galaxy s and with its 1ghz processor its lags hell..RAM is only 386 unlike 512 mentioned... moresounds like fanboyism to me. Seems like to me you're the only one with "crashing" problem. Seems like to me you don't even own a Galaxy S, if you did you would know that it does indeed have 512mb of ram. However 126mb of ram is dedicated to the gpu/os. I don't know about you but maybe its some crap you downloaded? Because all android phones are practically the same, besides the GUI running on it that differs for manufacturer, such as HTC and their SENSE UI, Motorola and their motoblur, Samsung and their version of the android desktop, theres no difference in hard ware. Like i said, maybe if you experience "crashing" then head over to an android forum and see if they can figure out your problem? Theres more than 1 million galaxy S sold world wide, and besides the common problem like gps(this is fixed easily using a guide) theres no "crashing" problem i've heard of.
really doubt on the capability of E7 in running many application , especially when it CPU is only at 680 Mhz,
Indeed it does have a great design as compared to the previous design of nokia phone. Due to the CPU, not sure if it can work fast since it is only 680mhz and not 1Ghz. If only it comes with office editor then it be good
ShameOnNokia, 28 Sep 2010Yes he got a severance pay, like all CEOs who sign a contract with any company. 4 Million Euro... morei own galaxy s and with its 1ghz processor its lags hell..RAM is only 386 unlike 512 mentioned by samsung..it hangs and restart itself..battery sucks..thats all with android OS ,battery issue a big time..regretting leaving nokia now..not all devices are perfect..android needs more time to be called as stable os
Anonymous, 28 Sep 2010Symbian is NOT a stable os, nokia-phones are famous because of their constant Symbian crashes ... moreMy friend's Galaxy S crashes often especially while doing multitasking. It has 1ghz processor, 512 mb RAM and runs Android but still it lags and it is not stable at all.
