On any phone, video calls are not configured. They are program dependent. Till two days back it was not possible to use the front camera without being on 3G network. It can be used only on a 3G network. BUT, if you download the latest version of Fring from www.fring.com and also have a Skype account, you can use the front camera as a webcam making skype to skype call through fring using your WiFi network, whether you have 3G or not. Fring can have multiple accounts of various IMs like Skype, Yahoo, MSN, Gootle Talk etc etc. Skype can be downloaded from www.skype.com. All these are free downloads.
So, download fring to your phone and skype to your PC and open skype account first, then the fring account and configure fring once and you are on to the video call circuit.

I just recently got this phone (about 3 days ago) and love it! However, it's already frozen on me.. so that's a bit dodgy! :S
BUT, what I really need answered is... how do I get video calls to work? It doesn't seem to be configured on my phone :(

Someone said something against BB on your site and now you are countering him/her by doing exactly what was done on your site.
It is a very personal matter of phone choice. Some like even Motorola. So it does not matter what the other person says. And I fail to understand why people should ask for other's opinion while buying a phone or any other thing for that matter. You are the best judge of your circumstances, so you alone should decide whether you want a BB or an iPhone or a Nokia or whatever. Just read the specs and decide which one you prefer. For exact feel go to the dealer and handle the phone yourself and decide.
So, let us not get into this infructious battle of words as no phone company is going to give us a medal of honor.

rock, 07 Mar 2010Hi everybody, I wanna buy this phone but I have heard that it hangs alot specially when using ... moreI cant say about individual pieces but mine does not hang at all. Been using it since May 09 and have been mostly on the internet thru its GPRS and never faced the problem. Problem arises when you have too many programs running simultaneously, more than what the RAM can handle. The trick is to install everything on the memory card and not on phone memory, which is limited to 120 MB. If you can keep about 50 to 60 MB of phone memory free then it will not hang.

Hi everybody, I wanna buy this phone but I have heard that it hangs alot specially when using GPRS. is it right? has anybody else experienced it?
is it true that E72 doesn't have this problem cause it has faster processor?

j-lee, 06 Mar 2010i very much honor you opinion about ur passion for BB and apple, but u should have keyed that ... morehahaha..thanx friend..u know what,ive been waiting for ages for somebody to reply my comment n i m almost forget about this until i saw it..erm..if u come to pay a visit to any BB or apple forum u can find that all the useless nokia or se fellas come in n give their bad comment n try to be hero there..always say that,nokia is better la whatever la..aiseh,im tired n boring to hear n read bout thats..coz i know BB n apple is too great compared with others..cheers n gud luck with ur nokia..hehehhe..

The battery life is very good on 2G networks but on 3G and GPRS etc it goes down considerably which is understandable. So, rest assured on that. The E71 is a fantastic phone, but not for multimedia purposes.
