I pressed *, 3 & green call key all together & started the phone until we hear the startup music.
It worked fine for me, I formatted the memory card, re-installed the required applications & viola! Its working fine now.

TURN OF CAMERA SOUND
Depending on your firmware version, you may not be able to switch off that annoying camera shutter sound of Nokia's built-in Symbian camera application.
Some Nokia cameras are controlled by the file z:sys\bin\CamMojave.exe, and the camera shutter sound on these phones can be silenced by a ROMPatcher plugin.
But what about other Nokia's where the camera is controlled by z:\sys\bin\camcorder.exe?
If you're lucky, switching on a silent profile will kill the camera shutter sound.
If that doesn't work:
1. Make a backup copy of the file z:\private\10202be9\101F8809.txt
2. Make another copy of the file z:\private\10202be9\101F8809.txt and open it in Notepad on a PC. Other text editors may also work. Do NOT use LightNotepad or the built-in text editor of X-plore, because these programs save the edited file in a wrong encoding.
3. Change
0x7 int 1 0 cap_rd=alwayspass cap_wr=alwaysfail
into
0x7 int 0 0 cap_rd=alwayspass cap_wr=alwaysfail
(all you need to do is change a "1" into a "0") and save the edited file.
4. Copy the edited file to c:\private\10202be9\101F8809.txt
5. Reboot your phone.
Now when you switch to a silent profile, the camera should be silent too. On some phones, any profile with the warning tones switched off may do the job. You'll need to hack your phone and use a Symbian file manager like ActiveFile, X-plore, SExplorer, FExplorer, or Y-Browser to put 101F8809.txt into the c:\private\10202be9 folder (I would prefer MODO v0.5 as this one is the only proper working file manager for FP2 phones).
This trick works on fp1/fp2 devices ..
It might work on 5800 as well...
You need to hack your phone with helloox first

i think E71 is better,both mobiles functions are same and same capacity, little bitle changes on screen.
The main diffrence is camera pixels it has 5 mega pixel but E71 is 3.2 mega pixel.
in my opinion E71 is good bcoz its looks very simple and easy to carry,now E71 also available in black edition its very cute..... and super..

i really appreciate ur time. i hv a digi cam myself so i think i can take that camera issue. by the way, how's its wifi speed, GPS and speed as a fone? is yours a Korean made? i just cant wait to hv this beauty. etching to get it this march.. thanks again.

jason,philippines, 18 Feb 2010greetings! i've been reading the reviews and opinions of this phone for some time and judgi... morehijason, honestly nkia e71 is better phone, im sng this since june 2008, but my only problem is the camera, wen i try to take a picture, i have to stay my hand to dat picture and wait few minutes to appear d pic dat i've taken, dnt know y? i have other phone nokia 6120 classic, t cam is so fast. dnt know y i have to wait few minutes to wait to appear d picture or else..watever d last position/view wen i moved my hand after taken a pics.yun ang makukuha..dnt know y???but everything is really gud...better be gud dan BB..

Bya, 22 Feb 2010Hey..I am using this fone for a week now and i have to say it is the best fone i have ever had... morejust try to download NIMBUZZ, much better dan ym..it's multi messenger..u can open facebook too and ym. etc..nice apps. just try to search it and downlaod it..wid free call.esp. used ur wifi cool. u can call wid ur friends online....just try it..im using NIMBUZZ for more dan 1 year noa..dat;s d best ever chatting apps..try it..i hope it helps..

By the way, anyone knows how to download yahoo... morehi, just try to download NIMBUZZ, its really cool, u can call ur friend too..free call, esp. wen u are using wifi..free to call..its multi tasl..so u can open ur facebook, yahoo messenger, orkut, skype etc..try to download it..or search nimbuzz...im using NIMBUZZ for almost 1 year..try it...nice messnger wid free call.
