Now I want to customize the screen to a similar machin... moreNokia has tied up with Symbian such that the latter makes SW area-wise. What you saw in UK is not available in Asia or elsewhere. And you dont download their firmware. You can download and install simultaneously. Meaning, if you want your phone to have that FW then it will have to be updated in that area only. For India and Asia/Pacific there is a different version.

i purchased an e-71. about a month ago. Now I want to customize the screen to a similar machine I saw bought in UK with "Orange" it say the software as follows:
Nokia e71-1(344.02) of 27.11.2008, rm346.I prefer the screen options of this phone.The screen is very easy to understand and easy to read. How can I get the same facilities? how to download? will it affect the machine etc. What I need is to get a more user friendly front screen.Can you pls help me?

i just updated my Nokia e71 software and i'm trying to restore my files but for some reason when it is restoring the calendar and notes, the phone restarts all by itself, can anyone help me?

I bought four of these phones for our company. ALL FOUR of them do not work correctly. I think its ridiculous that Nokia continues to make crap phones.
Phone # 1: speaker & microphone not working
Phone # 2: down key = enter key, cannot type SMS's.
Phone # 3: Turns itself off continuously
Phone # 4: Resets its own settings, then you need to reset everything again to be able to receive email.s

What is the need for an update? However, if you are so keen, get id updated thru Nokia Care which is much safer compared to doing it yourself. The have a box between the PC and the phone. The update is downloaded to the box and only if it is correctly downloaded that it is transferred to the phone. If you do it yourself then there is no check and you may loose your phone, like I lost my E61i. I was lucky to have it under warranty so I recd a E63 in lieu.
