The only thing i don't like about this phone and that's stopping me from buying it is that i find the menu screen sooooooooo UGLY and lame for such a hi tech phone. My Nokia 5310 menu screen is 100x better.

Firmware updates are usually done for certain batches of phones. Not all will require to update their firmware every time there is a release.

BUT my credit '... moreYou have to turn off A-GPS as it does use EDGE or HSDPA just to get GPS connection faster. But without A-GPS it will take more time to get a GPS signal. I use A-GPS as my data charges are lower as I am living in Bahrain.

Try switching it off.
Tools -> Setting -> General -> Positioning -> Positioning methods

On the field the farmers would prefer The Landrover but on the highways the Young driver would prefer The Ferrari. So what do you want to use the phone for. Both Phone are good for purpose designed for. Which phone is better??. You have got the illusive answer.

Is E71 S60 3rd edition? because i'am confused. currently using e71. no problem with the phone. It's just that after installing some themes, after disconnecting the phone from my laptop it says "Installing" and then after that it says "Untrusted software found on memory card. Go to application manager to install". Is that normal after installing a theme, an application or games in E71? pls. will someone answer my question. thanks. I'm just bothered.

I got the phone 2 days ago.. So far... I'm in love with it... Probably going to buy the E72 for my main phone when it comes out...
I've been a WinMo user for almost 5 years, I've had a 5500 Sport, N71, N73 and they were all backup phones. Then my wife got an E71 for herself... I ditched my WM phones (well, sold them off) and got myself an E71 as well.
I never thought I'd be using symbian as my main phone.. But this thing just got me hooked.

Raad, 09 Jul 2009I just bought the E71 .... i do have wireless internet but everytime i try to connect, it asks... moreMate you have too check with your router stuff normally you get a card with the wep code on it this will link the phone to the router and it stops others using your connection.

john doe, 19 Jun 2009the antenna is at the bottom of the phone behind the chrome bezel , this is indeed a very awkw... moreHas to be a network or hardware issue with the particular device. I have had two of these the first a white one in Sept 08 and now a grey and have never faced such issues related to holding the phone. I even use it as a modem while the phone lies flat on a bed with face up notwithstanding the use of Nimbuzz and other clients like NMS on the phone itself....secondly quite a few phones these days have antenna at the bottom and it does NOT make any difference as far as their reception is concerned. I own HTC Touch Pro as well as Diamond and both have the antenna at the bottom part and have no reception problems whatsoever. I suggest you check the network and if u have already done that please get your hardware checked...moreover if you are in India the Largest operator Airtel here has some peculiar tendency in their network that makes HTC or Nokia that is regardless of the OS(windows or symbian); phones restart while on net quite a few times. This never happens on other operators like Vodafone; Idea, BSNL etc.... Hope this helps.
