Can anybody tell me the firmware this phone originally came with when it was launced ?
The phone was released in July 2008. I want to know what firmware it came with when it first hit the shelves for sale.
For those who bought the phone the moment it was released and haven't upgraded their firmware any at all, please tell me the firmware on your E71.
Type *#0000# in standby mode to find out.

i prefer e71, cause not epensive...

is it true that "E66" does not have e-mail editing function. wehereas "E71" has email editing function.

to upgrade FW, use Nokia Software updater. But do not upgrade to version 200.21.118. This is full of bugs - gps problems, cannot connect to gprs or wlan. well not all people have these problems, but some of them does. so, if your phone works well with FW 1xx.xxxxxxxx then i suggest to skip this version.

Look wise its a good as well as a vey compact. only thing is key pad ia very small pratically for use and camera quality is also not good.

I turned on the GPS of E71 while travelling through plane (was curious whether it is possible for it to catch the signals and show the details) and guess what?
It not only showed the cities above which I was flying but also the speed of the plane and also at what altitude it is flying...
Most of the time (about 90%) it was connected and there were many few instances when the GPS signals were lost...
[Use of electronic devices while flying is generally not allowed, if your plane dies due to GPS then only you will be responsible for that...]

great phone only problem is when i downloaded it with untrusted softwares when i turn the phone on and off it says in the screen installing... try to finish the download pls go to app. mngr. but still a great device

I beleive its a great phone and a value for money option which Nokia has provided to its end User..Also will make a comeback as far as Marketing is concerned as the phone look features & working is commendable

Nader, 14 Feb 2009can eny one tell me how used Advance call maneger in this phone? Webgate advanced call manager is a good app.just install it and read help.so u will know how to use it.its not complicated.its easy to use.

The only mobile phone in the world.
Ive had mine for six months now...track id is the only feature i miss on this piece of world class equipment.
Other than that probably a scanner for UFOs in space.
One word describes this phone-complete.
